We really enjoyed our stay. The house is adorable and close to the beach. We will definitely consider staying there again if/when we come back to Pensacola Beach. Just a little confusion about how to turn the inside door handles to lock the doors but we figured it out.
Beautiful, perfect home right next to pristine beach!
We loved our stay at Casa Blanca! It was so carefully thought out for a comfortable stay for 10-12 people with great comfort. The upstairs deck is perfect while listening to the calming ocean while sipping your coffee for sunrise or wine in the evening...such a great setting. The dining table is huge for a family dinner, as is the table outside for eating and playing board games. Each bedroom has a television and there are plenty of family board games for entertainment.
The patio underneath is gorgeous! The lights add such a beautiful ambiance in the evening with the breeze coming through the lattice. We enjoyed the fridge downstairs while we hung out so we could get our drinks and snacks easily! My family had fun playing ping pong, riding bikes, and using the wagon to cart chairs and beach toys with ease.
The kitchen was complete with supplies for cooking, dishes, dishwasher, etc. We cooked most of our meals and never missed having any supplies - it is perfectly stocked.
The house is close to town so we had access to the store and restaurants, but far enough out to have a bit of privacy and not so much in the busiest areas.
And the beach, within super easy walking distance (just a few steps away) is gorgeous, clean white sand with blue torquoise waters. What a vacation!
Thank you so much for our stay, we can't wait to go back!!
Thank you so much for visiting Casa Blanca!
Great location and great house. Beyond our expectations
We have never stayed “away” from the beach. We have always rented condos with views of the beach in front of us so we were apprehensive about renting not directly on the beach. But this house was fantastic! It was a 3 1/2 minute walk from the driveway to the beach. We had so much outdoor living space to use (that you don’t get in a condo). The downstairs area under the patio was a great surprise and advantage to the house. We could drop off our tent and chairs there and wash our feet or use the outdoor showers before going upstairs. It has lights and lots of seating to use at night when it’s cooler. The house was exactly as pictured. We did miss seeing the ocean each morning when we got up to have coffee but the other benefits far outweighed this. The beach was almost private with very few families on the beach. We would set up our tent and chairs in the morning and come back to the house for lunch then head back before packing up for the evening. It was a nice neighborhood to be able to walk through at night. There were 2 bikes available to use to ride around as well. There were beach chairs, toys, boogie boards and a beach umbrella to use as well. A suggestion for the upstairs bedrooms would be more storage for clothing since there are no closets. The towel service was a great help but we brought our own to use as well. The owner was very responsive to my many questions as well. Great person to work with for renting. I would highly recommend this house.
Thanks Kim! It was a pleasure having you stay at Casa Blanca!
Great House - Competitive Price.
Such a cute house!
Many updates throughout - smartly done so that, as guests, we could enjoy the stay without the stress of maintenance and repair - great call by the owner! Excellent lay out for any family; even a multi-generational family with young children like ours.
Comfortable stay and convenient to everything the beach had to offer while still offering privacy - the perfect balance. The house was clean and well-stocked exceeding my expectations. Corner lot provided privacy and clear sightlines to the beach with ample parking and a great outdoor space for entertaining and relaxing.
We stayed shortly for a wedding but would come back again just for a beach vacation.
Owner was very responsive at every stage of renting, even moments before arrival when we were contacted just to make sure we got in safely! Had several special requests for payment allocations and he was prompt and pleasant at every turn.
Would stay again and highly recommend to anyone considering staying.
Great house, great value, great service!
Loved the house. Excellent set up and perfectly accommodated our group of people.
Thank you for staying at Casa Blanca. It really is a great beach experience. I've made many improvements since I purchased the house in 2017. Hope to hear from you in the future.
Disappointing for what we paid
We rented this house over the week of Thanksgiving. I had realized that previous reviewers had mentioned that the house needs work but that the owner had "just bought it" and was planning to do the necessary repairs "in the off-season" but assumed that those problems must have been taken care of by now. When we arrived, it was clear that none of that work had been done. Only 1 of the 3 bathrooms had a usable shower and nearly every room had something that was crumbling or in need of repair. What's more, the downstairs bathroom was completely disgusting: a family of cockroaches seemed to be living in the bathtub, the toilet was soiled, there was rodent droppings in the drawers, etc. We arrived on Saturday night and let Jonathan know immediately. At first he acted somewhat defensive, stating that "he just bought the place" (interesting in light of the previous reviewers having said the same thing half a year before) and that "no one has been there since the summer" (which in my mind is maybe more reason to check for cleanliness and problems...no?). Also - if it has been months since the off-season began by this time and no one has been there in months, when does he plan to do all the work to fix things? When does the off-season begin if not before Thanksgiving? To his credit, he did send a cleaning crew the next day after some back and forth and we ended up having a fine week, just having to work around the shower problem and other issues, like the fact that the laundry area is open air and did not have a functioning light, so any laundry had to be done in daylight or by flashlight. The main thing is that I have been coming to Pensacola Beach for at least a week every year of my life (to visit family) and this is the worst experience we have ever had. It was maybe a red flag I should have noticed in the booking: There was a very good price originally posted for the listing and I booked it thinking I had snagged a great deal. Jonathan let me know that the first price was a mistake and I agreed to re-book at a significantly higher rate, but now I question that exchange too. All of this together has left a bad taste in my mouth. I waited a bit to write this review because I did not want negative emotions to cloud my words and I frankly do not like to write negative things, but I do think that future renters need to know what they are truly signing up for.
The pleasures of owning rental property! Katherine doesn't like to write negative things. Really? Katherine contacted me and said she wanted to rent the beach house for $80 a night. I told her that I just bought the house and it wasn't for rent in the winter. I appreciated her interest and if she wanted to use the house I could give her a 30% discount off the rate but not $80 a night. I sent her the rental agreement and price. She agreed. Upon arriving at the house she complained of a dirty toilet and a roach in the tub. My first stay at the house was in August and I was the last person to use the house. The house and toilets were clean when I left. I told her I would send the cleaning crew out ASAP. Which I did and received this response from Katherine:
" The bathroom is spotless now- thank you for sending them over. It will make a big difference to us. Really appreciate it."
Was she looking for another rate discount or a free stay? Probably.
That's the last I heard from Katherine until this awful review written 2 months after her stay. The pictures of the house are accurate. The house is cute and in a prime location. The beach is amazing and world class. My rates are below average for the area. To correct Katherine on something she knows nothing about- the house has been updated since I purchased it less than 1 year ago. Piling repairs, the entire home re-plumbed, renovated upstairs bathroom with shower, new range, fridge, paint, new exterior shower. Total cost for upgrades so far over 50,000 with more upgrades in early 2018. Katherine I wish you the best of luck next year when you visit the area.
