Breathtaking views- a real retreat!

We had a wonderful time at this villa. The owners Katarina and George had taken the greatest care to ensure that we had everything we needed for our trip. The property is spotlessly clean and very charming, the pool is wonderfully refreshing and the views are magnificent. We plan to return and would wholeheartedly recommend this villa to couples and families.

Best View Mountain Villa

A most appropriate house name if ever there was one. 700m up with a view down the mountain valley to Paleochora harbour, spectacular. Beautiful modern property, spacious, well presented and private. Would recommend to anyone.

Fabulous in fine weather

*2 people, 6 days* It's an absolutely fabulous location, perched on top of a mountain with gorgeous views down to Paleochora and the sea. The vast outdoor space was alive with bees and butterflies. Large brids circled above. The sounds of distant goat bells just emphasised the utter peace. It was a wonderful place to be… when the weather was fine. Unfortunately the weather was not fine for about half the days we were there: winds, rain and the cloud base lower than the property. We found the interior cold and dark, and there were few surfaces not taken up with ornaments or equipment. Cooking was particularly difficult, with very little worktop space. This should not be all that hard to fix. Overall, though, we had a good time and would not hesitate to recommend it… in fine weather.

Top House on the Top of Mountain

We really enjoyed our stay (8 nights) in this house. As described, the house is on top of a mountain with an amazing view. Of course it can get a bit windy here but that is understandable for the position of the house. The outdoor space is huge on the left and right and to shelter from the wind (if it is windy) you can go out on the front balcony overlooking the sea or on the back balcony both with table and chairs. The house is perfectly furnished with everything you need and there was even a welcome package with fruit and food for the first days. As for the owners, I don't even know where to start, but we found them just great, although we only really got to know them the last 2 days. We were alone most of the time in the house (in the lower apartment). The upper floor is not rented and the owners use it when they are there themselves. All I can say about them is that we made new friends in Crete and hope to see them again soon. Thank you Katerina and George

Fabulous eyrie

0n the top of a hill, next to the sheeps, in front of the bay of Paleochora, in nature, you feel so free! This little home is perfect if you are looking for peace and quietness. You will find everything you need in this nest. Katerina and Georges are so kind and their welcome so warm. They have good advices and are ready to help. Wonderful hospitality and stay. We recommand without restriction!

Traumlage

Sehr sauber, sehr nette Gastgeber, tolles Willkommenspaket mit gut gefülltem Kühlschrank, wunderbare Aussicht mit Meerblick, absolute Ruhelage, da sich das Haus in 760 Höhenmetern ganz oben am Berg in super einsamer Lage befindet. Dadurch ist es natürlich sehr windig, die schönen Terrassen bieten aber tollen Windschutz. Der Pool ist wunderschön, das Wasser im September aber durch die Höhenlage schon sehr kalt. Einzig störend ist die starke Beleuchtung des ganzen Hauses mit starken Scheinwerfern außerhalb während der gesamten Nächte. Das ist sehr, sehr schade, da durch den tollen Rundblick der fantastische Sternenhimmel - man sieht die komplette Milchstraße !!! - leider sehr schlecht zu sehen ist. Man muss auch die Außenjalousien im Schlafzimmer komplett schliessen wegen der Helligkeit in der Nacht. Auf unsere Bitte an die Gastgeber, das Licht außen abzudrehen, wurde ein einziger Scheinwerfer bei der vorderen Terrasse deaktiviert, so hatten wir ab der 3. Nacht zumindest einen eingeschränkten Blick auf den grandiosen Sternenhimmel.
