Hi Amber; Thank you again for taking the time to review our property. We're so happy to know you enjoy New Orleans and that we are a part of that experience. Hurry back soon, jc
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Esplanade Avenue apartment. The host’s hospitality was beyond what we expected. He was easy to communicate with, well organized, and provided all the details we needed for our arrival and stay. The apartment is lovely with all the old charm of New Orleans. The neighborhood has lots of restaurants and gathering places. Its location makes it easy to get around New Orleans. We will definitely stay here next time we are in NOLA.

Thank you for your kind words, Wendy. It’s great to hear such a review coming from a New Orleanian born and raised here. Hurry back soon! jc
Great value - very pretty room and property with a cluster of great amenities nearby. Esplanade is a great, lesser known area with some classics and great new options just a beautiful couple of blocks away. Great if you have a car or good can budget for the trip for getting to downtown/french quarter/bywater. Only hassle is distance from uptown if you don't have a car. The only knocks are basic old house vrbo issues: kind of a random collection of lamps, nightstands, phone chargers/power outlets in inconvenient locations. Mattress is a little too soft for me, but pretty nice, and the couch and living room is amazingly comfortable. Great stay, will definitely stay again
Super cute place!! Great location, cute little coffee shop on the corner and a short walk to city park, the art museum, a Cafe Du Monde, a ton of cute restaurants, and a grocery store :) The location is quiet and beautiful!! I will definitely be back!

Hi Amber; Sorry for the delay-I just noticed you reviewed and I had not. Thanks for taking the time to review our property and your kind words. And I'm happy to know you'll be returning soon. jc
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gem. Our host, Joe, was gracious and thorough, guiding us through check-in and check-out and explaining all we needed to know. The apartment is a pleasant mix of antique elegance and modern comforts. It feels private but also connected to a vibrant street scene on Esplanade Avenue. Pleasant surprises included a Keurig coffee maker ready to brew a cup when we walked in, delicious snacks, and a newspaper delivered daily. A coffee house with breakfast items is next-door, and several good restaurants are within a few blocks. We especially enjoyed strolling down Esplanade and its surrounding streets to admire each house’s distinctive architecture and gardens. The apartment also is within walking distance of City Park, with the New Orleans Museum of Art and an incredible Sculpture Garden. The French Quarter and other attractions are accessible by bus, streetcar and Uber. But we found it easy enough to drive to City Park and the St. Charles Streetcar line. Even on a busy Saturday, it didn’t take long to find free parking spots on streets nearby.
This was our 2nd time staying at this location. It is a wonderful area and we felt very safe. There are many things to do and great places to eat. Grab a Pandora’s snowball and drive around the gorgeous historic neighborhood where classic architecture meets the quiet grace of time or ride the City Park train and see the breathtaking

Thanks for your kind words and for taking the time to review our property. I'm happy to know you appreciate our fine city; and certainly you picked a great neighborhood to be in the center of all the action. jc
Historic neighborhood with several restaurants, bars and grocery. This property is conveniently located next to a coffee house with extended hours. After a long day of being a tourist, you can come "home" to a front porch to relax. The owner/host and this property are why we come back each year.

Historic charm of this rental keeps us coming back!
This beautiful historic property with New Orleans charm desired by tourist is perfectly located in an old style New Orleans comfortable neighborhood.
We love sitting on the front porch to enjoy our morning coffee or other beverages in the in the evening after a fun filled day of doing tourist stuff.
It is a beautiful place in a great, walkable neighborhood. We spent a week in NOLA seeing the sights and this was a great place to be based out of. Joe was a very responsive host and we had a relaxing time.
The street parking was convenient. We would stay here again.

Perfect for our visit to New Orleans. Close enough to all we wanted to do...but the location is in a quiet very quaint NOLA neighbor hood that could easily have been a destination in its own right..with everything that you could want. Accommodations left us wanting for nothing...a great stay!

The trip was for my 89-year-old mother who grew up on Esplanade Avenue and we moved her a few years ago to be with her children. I wanted her to get back to her roots and this home met all of our expectations. The Host was very accommodating, the house was just beautiful and very comfortable.
This is a beautiful and charming older home in a lovely neighborhood filled with restaurants that can be easily walked to. Bike rentals and trollies are easily accessible for visiting sites that may be too far for you to walk. And everyone we met was very friendly.

Fantastic
Recently, my friend and I stayed at Esplanade Ridge in the lovely Victorian home. Not only were we thrilled about the neighborhood, but we were very happy about the accommodations. We were greeted in a timely way and the home was comfortable and very clean. As a musician, I loved the piano in the Parlor Room and the adorable dog on the premises made for a lovely stay in every way. Having a cafe directly next door was fabulous! The overall rating I would give is excellent!
