This modern ocean view 2-bed / 1-bath (825 square feet) condo is on a tree-lined street in one of Tacoma's best neighborhoods (North Slope). It is on the middle floor (no stairs) of a quiet, safe, 11 unit building. The property is next door to The William Ross Rust Mansion, one of the largest mansions in Tacoma. This historic neighborhood is filled with stately 100-year-old houses, and views of Commencement Bay.

The condo is minutes to downtown, Old Town, the Ruston Way waterfront, the hip 6 Ave. Commercial district, UPS, UW, the hospital and Point Defiance Park, Zoo, Aquarium, and is a few blocks south of the prestigious private Annie Write School.

The condo is substantially remodeled with a new fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, garburator, Keurig coffee maker with gourmet coffee, a drip coffee maker); a new bathrooms with a Jacuzzi bathtub. The unit has a balcony overlooking tree lined Yakima Ave. and a good view of the bay (ocean).

There is a washer and dryer in the condo.

There is a new 40” smart TV with cable, Wi-Fi, High Speed Internet, and en-suite laundry.

The condo is a dedicated short term furnished executive rental.

The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a comfortable mattress.

The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a comfortable mattress.

The dining room has a table and chairs for 4, and there are an extra 2 chairs (total 6 chairs). The dining room has a sliding glass door to the balcony.

The front door access is from the outside (the building has no interior hallways or elevator). Free onsite parking is available in front and behind the unit. I recommend you use the rear parking for this unit, as no stairs are required for access from the rear parking.

There is plenty of closet storage. Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap), a hair dryer, iron, ironing board and coffee are provided.

The bus stop is in front of the building on Yakima Ave.

Within two minutes by car (or a 15 walk) you are at the best Tacoma has to offer: restaurants, coffee shops, stores, grocery store, the Ruston Way waterfront walking path, the Tacoma Little Theater, downtown, the convention center, hospital, and the Movie Theaters.

Slightly further and you are the Museums of Glass, the Tacoma Art Museum, the Washington State History Museum, the universities (UPS & UW), the Rialto and Pantages Theaters, and Point Defiance Park, Zoo and Aquarium.

Seattle is 40 minuets north on 1-5. Portland is 2.5 hours south. Mt Rainier National Park is 2 hours away. Olympia National Park is 2.5 hour drive.

The condo is in a historic section of Tacoma, within walking distance of a nice coffee shop as well as a couple restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and found the unit very relaxing.

My mom, my 4.5- and 6-year old daughters and I stayed here and could not have been more comfortable or more pleased. We traveled from Kentucky and Chicago to visit relatives, and the set-up and amenities were absolutely perfect. We enjoyed a meal at The Spar, groceries from Metropolitan Market, a run through the neighborhood to Wright Park, and views of the water. We’ve recommended it to relatives for an upcoming wedding, and will absolutely book again when we’re back in the area!

Great condo! Wonderful location! At this price point, this is a 5-star stay. It’s nice to have fully separate rooms when traveling with others. The condo has good Wi-Fi which all three of us used without any difficulties. We never had a problem with parking our vehicle (something that can’t be said for the rest of the neighborhood). The neighborhood itself is a delightful mix of low-rise condos and single-family homes, some stately, others modest, but our nights were quiet – no noise from nearby roads or highways. And morning coffee was enjoyed on the balcony - a great place for collecting thoughts for the day with a partial view of the harbor and people watching (joggers, dog walkers, etc.)

Drawbacks? Not many. The secondary bedroom is smaller and does not have a dresser for unpacking, but it does have a sizable closet (bring your own hangers.) Also, there aren’t many utensils for heavy cooking. For making a daily breakfast, it was just fine, and there is a large Fred Meyer grocery store not too far away.

It is handy to have the washer/dryer in the unit. I used this several times to fully dry my towels after use. If you’re not from the area, Tacoma can be fairly humid and it takes a while for thick terry cloth to hang dry. The sheets are comfy and the beds, though new, are foam topped and a bit squishy. If you need a super firm mattress, this is not the place for you.

We did not meet the owner/operator in person, and it wasn’t necessary. He was accessible but unobtrusive. The arrangements with the locks and the way the instructions were given were efficient and complete. Tim did reach out to us to check on us a couple of times, but everything was fine.

Overall, our party of three enjoyed these accommodations. We would stay here again.

Cleaning Fee $90

The $70 I charge for cleaning is what it costs me to pay a cleaner for 2 hours. 90% of guest’s checkout cleaning is covered in the 2 hour fee. But occasionally a guest is abnormally messy. Consequently, we have instituted a policy where we will deduct from your $200 deposit any additional cleaning required, at the rate of $35 per hour, to return the condo to its pre-rented condition.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
