Disappointed group

Would love to have stayed here. Booked it for our first night in Scotland, and a half dozen other places for our 12 days. All others took payment and started corresponding. I tried to contact this place multiple times. Clear up until the very day we arrived, I even tried to CALL the place, once we were in Scotland. Now I have to pay for a long distance call. No answer. Left a voicemail. No return call. Finally at about 6:30 pm that evening, our group of 4 was scared to drive 45 mins out of the city for a place we were unsure of. They had never taken my payment. All I got was an automated message the day I booked, saying it was reserved. But then nothing. No payment taken. So in desperation, we booked a local hotel. Then about an hour later I got an automated message asking if we were coming. It was too late. So like I said this seemed to be a nice place, but with zero correspondence, it really left us in a bind. The rest of our trip at all the other places has been fine. Don’t know why this place wouldn’t respond to 5-6 messages and voicemail and several phone calls. Very frustrating and stressful first day of our trip. I would say beware of this place. Oh, and now I have a charge to my credit card for that night. Don’t know if it was them, or another place trying to scam. Even the VRBO helpline tried to contact this place and got nothing. No check-in info. Nothing. So now VRBO and my credit card company are investigating it. DON’T book here. Sorry.
