Experienced confusion on the part of the host about the booking just a day before it started (told it was still unconfirmed and that I still needed to pay, when in fact everything had been finalised a week earlier with mutiple email confirmations). It was quickly resolved but not fun to go through. Didn’t like the policy of this company (StayZo) not to provide check-in info until 2pm on the first day of the booking (this wasn’t caused by the glitch about my booking, it was clearly their standard practice). Who wants to have to set off on their journey trusting that the info needed will arrive while you are en route? The location is good, very central, but the entrance to the building is shabby and worn and check-in details could be better (e.g. explain you have to walk up the first flight of stairs to find the lift). The flat itself seemed well cleaned - until we took our shoes off, when it was instantly clear that the hard floor was very dusty and grimey, as we felt dirt sticking to our feet with every step (we never went barefoot again). The mattresses were a bit thin and too soft to be comfortable; one room had no form of bedside light and you have to move a bedside table in order to open the cupboard for hanging clothes. The tv could not get a signal from the freeview box as the hdmi cable was missing (one was brought to us the next day but we missed the Friday night footie match we wanted to watch). Being there in a heatwave, we appreciated the two fans.
