The Whitewater Chalet is the perfect balance of nature, tranquility and accessibility to experience endless adventure and Nelson, one of the greatest mountain towns in North America, and the cultural capital of the region. Tucked away, roughly 10 min from the town of Nelson, the chalet is nestled on a private property surrounded by lush forest with a creek, waterfall and private trails steps from the door. Enjoy an 8-person hot tub, two outdoor deck spaces, seating benches, walking trails and more.

In the winter, you’ll be the closest lodging option to Whitewater Ski Resort, just five minutes up our road. In the summer, access from the Chalet is endless with mountain biking, hiking, fishing, SUP, climbing and more at your finger tips. It’s the absolute perfect base camp for daily adventure.

The Chalet is used exclusively as a vacation rental property and is maintained to be very clean and comfortable for all guests.

The beautifully finished, hand-built log cabin has everything you’ll need through all seasons to be comfortable. You’ll stay warm burning stocked wood in the wood stove, the cabin’s centered feature. You’ll stay hydrated drinking the greatest tasting water on earth, drawn from the Rambling Creek and waterfall next to the property.

The Whitewater Chalet’s main floor has a large open living space centered around a wood burning stove with a chimney stack that rises all the way to the ceiling. The open kitchen with counter seating and two adjacent dining table areas will keep everyone in your group together. The main floor of the chalet also has a large mudroom, laundry area and full bath. The large deck space off of the main floor has a nice outdoor table and chair set.

The downstairs level has two bedrooms (2 double beds in each room that can easily be pushed together) and a full bath with a stand-up shower.

The open loft level, upstairs from the main floor has a full bed and another twin bed if you need extra sleeping space.

A few steps from the main cabin is the guest cabin, a stand-alone, heated, private bedroom with a queen size bed. Guests sleeping in the guest cabin are just a few steps away from the full bathroom on the main floor level of the chalet. The walkway is nicely lit at night. The guest cabin is a unique addition to the property that will make you feel like you’re “glamping.” It’s absolutely perfect for a couple looking for privacy.

Access the cabin from a short meandering path or an elevated staircase that drops you into the mountain forest utopia.

If you want comfort, relaxation, adventure, excitement, and everything else that's amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Me and my family of five stayed at this fantastic piece of paradise for an amazing 7 days! Arriving at it's location, just pulling up the secluded drive you couldn't help but be in awe of its setting! The hot tub over looking the mountain, the stream trickling down the stairs path to the main cabin sitting beside an entirely separate guest house was screaming adventure. You walk in and are invited by a cozy warm comfortable quiet open cabin that you can't help but love. Kitchen is loaded with everything you could possibly need to cook for and entertain any type of group you go with. The main cabin had more then enough space for our family of five. We found ourselves having a blast utilizing the supplied games to play at night after returning from one of the insanely large amount of activities all with in a half hour to an hour from the cabin. From caving to whitewater rafting and hiking to shopping. On return from our activities the cabins front entry has loads of room to unpack from your adventures and a washer and dryer right beside that for laundry.. Everything was perfectly placed. Don't stop at the cabins interior though go out on the deck and enjoy an early cup of coffee high up breathing in the mountain air and enjoying the view of the neighbouring mountain or go for a short seven minute walk and relax next to a roughly twenty foot waterfall!! The property was fantastic in every sense of the word! Winter time coming I know I'm going back as it's located right beside one of BC's best ski hills. So if your into adventure, comfort, relaxation, or just want to use it as a base camp to do activities and shopping it works for everything.. A word or two on the owners! Extremely accommodating! Everything you need is there and so you won't likely require there assistance but if you do there very quick to respond and will help with what ever is required with no issues. I had a minor question on the location of something during my stay. I was replied to within 20 minutes and was offered on site assistance as soon as I was available and willing. Att: families with teens! This trip with this cabin in it's setting and versatility has brought me and my family with my teens and youngest closer then we have ever been. Can't thank the hosts enough for this amazing well priced paradise! Miss it terribly and we just left. Will definatly be recommending to everyone I know for both summer and winter stays! We will be back!

Cosy, secluded cabin is a great break from life!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the chalet with our extended family and it was a great experience. The place is well appointed with everything you need (even a blender!). It was easy to get to and relaxing to stay at (the couches and chairs in the living room are super comfy and arranged around a fireplace/stove). We used one of the dining room tables for our puzzle and the other for eating. It was a perfect getaway with no neighbours around and lots of room for the whole family. While the owners aren't based in Nelson, they were very responsive and checked in on us to make sure everything was going well. It was a great launching pad for our family ski vacation and we would definitely stay again.

Winter Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying at the Whitewater Chalet, once we found it and got it! It was snowing quite heavily when we arrived and we did not notice the address sign or the drive way on our first try. We also couldn't figure out the lock box code, but that was 100% our fault and once we looked closer at the directions, we figured it out. Once inside the kids were very excited about the "wooden house"! The Chalet has everything one would need for a comfortable long weekend stay. We especially loved the giant, fluffy towels, the hot tub with speakers outside, the toiletries available for use and no television!

The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, from glassware to silverware, cutting boards to pots and pans to sharp knives! The only thing we couldn't find were towels for the hot tub, however, we had brought some just in case.

The property itself is magical, especially for kids. We walked along the snow covered, tree lined path to the creek and waterfall. There were so many places to explore! We brought crazy carpets and turned the drive way into a sledding hill...with someone at the bottom to stop people before hitting the road of course!

We had around a foot of snow over the weekend and had shovels to clear the walk ways, however, having some ice salt would have been a great bonus, as the stairs are quiet steep and it was really slippery.

All in all, this was a great family vacation. We had 6 adults and 4 children (ages 6 to 3) and we had more than enough room to enjoy ourselves. We would definitely recommend this Chalet to others.

Outstanding Experience!

  • 5 of 5

The chalet was "as-advertised" and much, much more. Beautiful setting, spacious, fully stocked with every convenience and the hosts and caretaker were attentive and accommodating. Overall, it was simply an outstanding experience and I'll definitely be re-booking this home for my next visit to Nelson. Many thanks!!!

Everything it claims to be and more!

  • 5 of 5

My wife I and stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was fantastic. Danny took great care to ensure that we felt welcome prior to our stay, and checked in with us to ensure we arrived safe and had found everything properly. The turnoff to the cabin can be a bit tricky to find, but luckily they had provided extremely clear directions on how to find it and we had no issues.

Suffice to say, this chalet was everything that it claims to be. The outdoor hot-tub was phenomenal, and the privacy in the mountains made for an incredible get-away. Ample firewood was ready for us for our stay, and we were able to make use of the wood burning stove most nights for pleasure and warmth. The bathrooms were completely stocked with everything we could need, in case we had forgotten anything, and there were plenty of linens to last us the entire trip.

The only feedback that we had was that there was a stair that was a bit wobbly on the property heading down to the house, and after providing this feedback to the owners after we left they followed up to let us know that they had fixed it within the week. This sort of response is fantastic, and only helps to reinforce the care of the owners.

My wife and I will surely be back in the future.
