The apartment is indeed “next to the old town”, just 100 meters to a bridge that crosses into the old town. There is a wine shop and a bakery nearby in the street and a supermarket is close by in the old town. The fabulous La Ribera food market is also just a short walk away. The apartment has a large dining space and a well equipped modern kitchen. The bedrooms are a little small as are the 2 modern bathrooms.

Excellent apartment in a great location near Bilbao’s old town

Our stay in this Bilbao apartment was fantastic. The location was perfect — just a short walk to the old town, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and sights nearby. The apartment itself was clean, modern, and very comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing visit. Communication with the host was smooth and friendly. We would gladly return on a future trip to Bilbao!

Lovely apartment but not the best location. Friday and Saturday night there is an after hours bar that opens from midnight until 0500. It is very loud. Close to walk to lots of things though. Need a few more wine glasses. Great response from the host.

Great location

We (3 adult couples) loved the property. It’s with in a few meters from the old town and the market. The apartment had everything we needed. It was unusually warm weather and the two fans that were provided made it for a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend.

A great week in Bilbao

we spend one week in the apartment and enjoyed it very much. very close to the old city, lots of nice restaurants. Bilbao offers quite a wide range of activities which we used very much (museums, nearby visits and very good food). Safe parking nearby at reasonable prices. Check in very good. However one must be aware it is directly in the city with some traffic etc. => but we wanted the short ways.

Outstanding Experience

Exceeded expectations! This lovely home was in the most perfect location. It was open and spacious and provided much comfort. Walking distance to access so much culture, food, shopping and bars. I will never forget this home and the wonderful owner to was so friendly.

VRBO stay in the San Francisco area of Bilbao Spain.

Very nice apartment, but the immediate area is a little sketchy late at nights on the weekend. Directly across the street is an after hour bar open from midnight - 5 am that had disturbing activities going on outside our windows directly below our windows. We had to close our windows and avoid being seen. It is a half block from the river so a short walk to a better part of town. When we arrived and our husbands parked the car at the train station parking lot, we had multiple people come tell us to not stand outside our VRBO waiting for check in with our luggage and helped us get inside the lobby until we could get into the apartment. My recommendation is to google the safety of the district you are staying in.

Bilbao San Francisco neighborhood

Overall our stay in Bilbao, despite it being short, was wonderful. Our VRBO was an excellent location, VERY walkable to NUMEROUS tourist spots and restaurants. Only complaint is it would've been nice to have shampoo/bath soap, but this was not a big deal as we did have our own. One other thing, Friday night there was quite a bit of neighborhood noise from celebrating or loud socializing outside of VRBO. ASIDE from those items, the VRBO property was nice and spacious.

A fun place to stay

Gorka's apartment was just as listed. No surprises or wide angle lenses used in the photos. He supplied us with an extensive list of local eateries (especially Perro Chico for the best beer of our trip!), shops and other options. When, after we checked out, he notified us about a pair of eyeglasses left behind and is sending them to us in the US! Great service from a great guy! If we return to Bilbao, we will stay there again, even if we need to adjust our dates.

We adored Bilbao and the surrounding ethnically diverse and vibrant neighborhood while staying in this clean, bright apartment. Don't be dismayed by the initial look of the neighborhood or of the shabby stairway in need of repair, when your get up the flight of stairs (no elevator), you'll enter a really well-appointed apartment that has been renovated to a high standard. The kitchen is beautifully modern and functional (wish I had one like it at home) and both bathrooms are marble with rain head showers ( be sure and bring a shower cap if you don't want wet hair with every shower).The 3 bedrooms are all very comfortable. But if you have light sleepers and/or children, you won't want them in the atrium bedroom on the street side of the apartment. The patrons of the pub across the street spill out on Friday and Saturday nights and are easily heard enjoying their drinks despite the double glazing. The bedrooms have minimal electrical outlets so you may want to bring a 3 outlet plug or two if you have a CPAP, phone charger or electric toothbrushes.The host is wonderfully hospitable and accommodating. He has supplied the amenities mentioned PLUS a hairdryer not listed which was available with the extra towels and blankets also provided. The linens where sparklingly clean and in good repair too.We highly recommend this host and apartment. We will be going back.

Cute place with character

The place was great. There is no central A/C so It got a bit humid indoors. Also there is no dryer for clothing and no tv in living area. We travelled with a family so tv in family room would have been nice for kids at end of the day. The area whwre condo is at, is near old town. It is a bit loud ar night and diety outdoors but it is centrally located which is nice. Back room is quiet, but room next to front of street gets more noise. My mother in law had a hard time sleeping. Overall owners had great suggestion list, it was clean and roomy and beds comfortable.

insgesamt sehr schön, Lage ist exzellent, Altstadt und Lokale vor der Tür, Tram auch, alle attraktiven Orte zu Fuß erreichbar. Für Leihwagen Parkplatz zu moderatem Preis wenige Schritte entfernt. Ausstattung des Appartments sehr gut. Der einzige Wermutstropfen: gegenüber ist eine Bar/Disco oder sowas, am Wochenende akustisch aufdringlich. Im vorderen Schlafzimmer dann besser Ohrenschützer mitnehmen. Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und bemüht.

Charmant appartement tout près de la vieille ville

Les plus : spacieux pour 6 adultes, très propre, assez bien équipé, dans un quartier vivant, bien situé près du vieux centre-ville. Gorka est très réactif, merci à lui ! Le moins : l'isolation n'est pas top. Le week-end, ceux qui dorment côté rue risquent d'avoir le sommeil perturbé par le bruit nocturne du bar en face.

Ein Katzensprung über den Fluss in die Altstadt

Wir waren zu 5 Erwachsenen in der Wohnung und haben uns in der geschmackvoll, minimalistisch eingerichteten Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Betten waren bequem und alles war sehr sauber. Aber vor allem ist die Lage der Wohnung fantastisch, da wir nur über eine kurze Brücke gehen brauchten um mitten in der Altstadt zu sein. Um zum Guggenheimmuseum zu gelangen, machten wir einen herrlichen Spaziergang entlang der Flusspromenade. Dadurch bekamen wir schnell einen tollen Eindruck von der Stadt. In der näheren Umgebung der Wohnung gibt es unzählige Restaurants und Bars und auch die schöne Markthalle ist ganz in der Nähe am anderen Flussufer. Mit den zwei Badezimmern und dem schönen großen Esstisch war die Wohnung für uns sehr praktisch und bequem. Sie hat durch die edle Einrichtung viel Atmosphäre. Durch Beschreibung wird allerdings die Situation der drei Schlafzimmer nicht ganz klar. Ein Schlafzimmer mit Bad und separater Toilette liegt nach hinten raus, ist mit einer Glasabtrennung vom Rest der Wohnung getrennt und ist sehr ruhig. Die anderen beiden Schlafzimmer liegen zur Straße, die nachts laut ist, da viele Leute aus den umgebenden Restaurants und Bars noch spät hindurchgehen und auch Autos noch spät durch die schmale Straße fahren. Dafür hat man aber die tolle Lage und ist mittendrin. An unserem Wochenende fand auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Flusses ein großes kostenloses Bluesfestival statt. Das war wirklich großartig! Appartement très confortable mais nuisance visuelle, mauvaise isolation de l’éclairage extérieur et pire, très mauvaise isolation sonore, prière de rue et surtout musique jusqu’à 5 heures du matin !!!!

Bilbao con amiche

Ottima posizione: tutti i luoghi di interesse sono facilmente raggiungibili a piedi Appartamento molto spazioso e arredato con gusto. Sarebbe però utile mettere qualche mensola nei bagni L'unico difetto è che di notte la strada è molto animata e quindi molto rumorosa
