Four double ensuite bedrooms, all of which can be separated into singles. Single storey. Spacious, comfy living area with large dining table and a very well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances including dishwasher. There are views from the spacious patio, with bbq and ample walks close by. Use of a shared, seasonal pool, grass tennis court and croquet lawn, all open between May and August.

Excellent property in a beautiful & peaceful setting. Garden House was very well equipped & very comfortable. Hosts helpful & pleasant . We enjoyed our stay there.

Wonderfully furnished cottage, in a beautiful setting! Very homely, spotlessly clean and modern. Well looked after by the hosts, who were kind and helpful. Truly lovely experience!

Peaceful and beautiful

Such a historic venue, so peaceful if a bit remote. 5-10 minutes to get to the main road. Easy to find though, postcode satnav takes you right to the property with well signed directions when there. The property and grounds were immaculate, added bonus of an outside plug at parking to trickle charge an electric vehicle.

Fab property in a great rural location

We were very lucky to find this property as a last minute alternative to a holiday abroad as it had only just been listed. Lucy the host, and her family who live adjacent, could not have been nicer or more helpful - and all the facilities, both in the property, and available for use such as the tennis court were in a great condition. The property is down a long lane so you feel miles from anywhere, but the location is perfect for exploring York and Yorkshire

Absolutely amazing stay in the Garden House. The photos don't do it justice, a great space for relaxing, catching up with friends and partying. We were a group of 8, and having separate beds with all bedrooms with ensuite was ideal. There is a fabulous terrace but also access to the pool, tennis and croquet lawn as well as lovely walks from the front door. We had planned to go into York on the evening, but decided to stay at the house, as it was so lovely. We left feeling that the place had added a new special dimension to what would have been a lovely get together anyway and would definitely recommend and stay again in the future.

Peaceful spot, beautiful property

We loved this property. It was great for friends because of the open plan aspect. Spotlessly clean and well stocked. Friendly hosts and fab surroundings. It is very rural , there are some nice pubs in the nearby villages but you will need to drive or our taxi was £17 each way. Also note the road approaching the property is very rough - if you have a low suspension car you would have to drive very carefully. Saying that the above would not put us off from booking again. The property is so beautiful and the pool was great too.

Great stay for a girly weekend

This is a great property for 8 people for a wkd away. We were celebrating a 40th birthday party. The grounds are well maintained, we could tell the garden and lawns had just been freshly cut for our arrival. The photos dont do the house justice. The kitchen is new and very modern. Directly outside we had a large patio area where we had a BBQ in the sunshine. The property also has a shared pool which is great, we sat by the pool on the Saturday afternoon enjoying a few drinks. Finally Lucy and Penny who own the house are so friendly and accommodating, everytime I messaged them they usually had an answer for me in minutes. We organised a tescos shop ourselves to be delivered, the driver had no issues finding us, so good to know if you want the food shop organised for arrival! We cant wait to stay again! My only small suggestion would be a hot tub on the patio would be the cherry on the cake! 😀

Beautiful property surrounded by lovely grounds and use of a swimming pool which we were lucky to be able to use during our stay with great weather. Everything you need in the property for a weekend away, comfortable beds and lovely outdoor area, really enjoyed our stay

Fantastic peaceful family break

Lovely stay in the countryside on a beautiful estate with family. The host was warm and welcoming, the house was spacious and all mod cons. Our children enjoyed trips to York and the surrounding area which are minutes away. We took our dog who loved the space and the long walks around the area. Excellent home for elderly family as well as all on one level and everything accessible. Would happily recommend and book again.

Beautiful Country getaway for the family

The family loved the property and surroundings. Extremely well equipped house. Beautiful welcome basket. Everything on hand...just like going home from home. The children loved seeing the horses and chickens each morning and exploring the gardens and woods.

A luxurious cottage in lovely rural spot

Garden Cottage provided a very comfortable base for our weekend family gathering in York. The cottage was beautifully clean and well equipped. Everything was new and worked. Having four double bedrooms with ensuites made it feel luxurious for everyone. The kitchen/dining room/sitting room is huge and made very cosy with a log burner. The garden is smallish but securely fenced in so was good for our dog. The surrounding estate looks fantastic, but we didn't get to enjoy it much in wet February weather. And just 15-20 minutes from York by car. Altogether, can't fault it for a relaxing weekend or longer in the area.

I couldn’t recommend Garden Cottage enough for a stay with a large group of friends or family. Spotless, spacious and super scenic. Set in beautiful grounds. The cottage itself has everything you could possibly need to keep 8 people and their furry friends entertained. Thanks so much

Secluded clean lovely property

Great location property and host. Good for York Harrogate Yorkshire Moors whilst being in a lovely spot for chilling out. The pool and tennis courts are excellent we used them most days.
