Features private swimming pool (11x7m) with careful monitoring of water quality, solarium with outside dining table, lounge chairs and sun umbrellas, outdoor shower and barbecue area with a wood-fired oven where you can cook your grilled dishes. The living room has a fireplace ideal for winter. The kitchen is fully equipped with toaster, microwave, Blender, Toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher. Offers radio, Cable Tv, and wi-fi internet. Pilrão's House is fully furnished and equipped with bed linen and toilets so you can spend unforgettable holidays.

Perfect location for exploring the whole island (by car) The pool is large enough for actual swimming and very well maintained. The house is very clean and the kitchen well equipped with everything you need. You can park your car on the premises (but VERRY Steep) or at the street. The beach is reachable by foot but be aware that the return uphill is a strenuous walk. So are the restaurants. All in the all it's a place where you can have a relaxed vacation. I really can recommend this place.

This is a wonderful wee gem of a villa , 2nd time staying and loved every minute of it. It has all the essentials any family could want and is only a 15 min walk down the hill to the main marina.It has 2 double bedrooms i ensuit, 1 twin room and a main bathroom.The outside is marvellous and spacoius with a massive pool .Would recommend to anyone to stsy here.

This villa is beautiful and set in the most scenic, peaceful location. There is everything there, that you could possibly want and more. 8 minutes drive to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. 20 minutes walk down the mountain path (Taxi back!)Waking up to have coffee on the terrace, overlooking the ocean, will be greatly missed in the mornings. The owners met us at the villa, even though it was late at night and arrived to say goodbye when it was time to leave. We highly recommend the villa and the area.

Peaceful quiet and tranquil

Villa was so good we have already booked for next year. Fernanda, Pedro and Vascos where excellent hosts checking in on us half way through our holiday. Villa was very well equipped and had everything you could ask for, Was only a 15 min walk down to town at the Marina and local supermarket Pingo Doce. Little hidden gem in the hills not to be missed.

A Great Place

It was an all round great stay. The property was excellent in a beautiful area. The swimming pool and deck area were perfect when we weren’t out exploring. Banana trees, Mango trees and Grapes all around. It was a challenging walk down to the town and back but certainly worth the effort. We’ll certainly be e going back. Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay here, excellent location for exploring the rest of the island which we did and saw much of the exceptional scenery Madeira offers, We did hire a car and used it! The villa was beautiful and we loved the pool and facilities, we made full use of barbecue, eating alfresco every day! Calheta offers a range of restaurants, a supermarket and bank and opportunities for Whale watching and fishing trips and swimming from the two beaches. We really enjoyed our stay in Madeira and so good to meet Pedro and his father who made us feel very welcome.

Very beautiful and peaceful!

It's a big house and you have to climb up the stairs to get to it. But once you managed everything is conveniently on one floor. Very nice pool, super view on the ocean. Very nice owner, check-in was perfect. It has all one needs and more....even a BBQ. We enjoyed it a lot!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful holiday home

Fabulous base for our Madeira holiday. House was lovely, swimming pool and patio area were fabulous with a wonderful sea view. Plenty of room inside, three lovely bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen. We were able to check in straight from our morning flight so didn’t have to hang around until 4pm. We didn’t attempt to park our car on the near vertical driveway, but there was a large parking area just down the hill. Short walk downhill to bars and restaurants in Calheta, but a heck of a steep walk back uphill. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely place

The villa is located on a hill (there are lots of them in Madeira) with a great view at the ocean. The location is very quiet: all you can hear is the birds singing; the waves of the ocean and crickets. Absolutely lovely.The kitchen is equipped with everything you can imagine. There are essentials and cleaning products. The walk down to the beach is easy. Not so easy to get back though. But enjoyable.The parking is easy. I believe a car is important in Madeira. The only thing we did not like was the bed. So we recommend this place.

Escape from Winter

A really nice house (the photos don’t quite do it justice) and a spectacular private pool. We stayed in January and swam every day. We didn’t have a car but the path down to the seafront is easily walkable, if steep. And there are plenty of taxis outside the Pingo Doce supermarket in Calheta for the 10 euro journey back up the hill. Restaurants and boat trips aplenty in Calheta and it’s also easy to book a taxi driver via WhatsApp to explore nearby villages and walks: Jardim do Mar is pretty and the walk down from Prazeres to Paul do Mar is knee-tremblingly good. We really enjoyed the road walk to Calheta’s modern art museum, too. Fernanda was friendly and responsive and kindly left us some wine - much appreciated!

staying at top of calheta bay

It's a beautiful place to stay. much better than the impression provided yet at the internet. the rooms are nice, the space you have is huge, in particular outside, and the best is the view from more or less top of the rock down to the atlantic. fernanda the host has been very nice, too, and made it easy for us to have a comfortable arrival, stay and departure. supermarket and restaurants, also a very nice one on the other side of the street along the harbour. however, you shouldn't mind steep walks, even if just 10 minutes to go. if there's anything to say less positive, it is that the pool isn't heated, meaning it's really fresh so that we used it for rief swimming sessions only but not for longer splashing. anyway, we loved it and have in mind to come back exactly there. thanks again to fernanda!

Home for the perfect vacation!

We had a very nice stay here. The house is exactly as the pictures show. At the beginning we were welcomed by Fernanda on site and were shown all the essential things in the house. Fernanda would have been on hand immediately for any problems, but we were unable to test this as there were simply no problems. The house is in a very quiet location at the end of a cul-de-sac, so it was no problem at all to park the car down on the street. This meant we didn't have to use the very steep driveway as a car park. The view of the sea is spectacular, as is the pool - which was no less impressive. We have never had such a large private pool at our disposal. The automatic pool cleaner ensured that it was always clean and the water temperature was pleasant, so that even otherwise sensitive natures were encouraged to take a dip. We did a lot of our own cooking, and the kitchen had all the equipment we needed. And the meals on the terrace with a view of the sea and banana plantations will stay with us for a long time. The house was very clean and comfortably furnished. At 130 cm wide, the double beds may be a little narrow for two people - but we didn't mind, because with three bedrooms there is enough space if you book the house for two. The only drawback: the island is so beautiful that you're always on the move and therefore don't have enough time to enjoy the property ;))

Beautiful view, Great Pool, Lovely villa!

Villa Pirao is a lovely, comfortable house with an amazing view of the ocean and hills, and a delicious heated pool. Fernanda is a generous and caring hostess who is very present for her guests but not intrusive. Although the house is not completely isolated, it feels like it is because of the way it is situated. From the pool you don't even see the neighboring houses and it feels like you are on a deserted island with only sea and mountains around you. We did not hear any noise from the hotel under construction and we found the beds comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the outdoor fireplace fun to cook in. It was quite chilly while we were there and the house is cool in the evening because there is no heating, but there were plenty of blankets to keep warm. If the steep driveway intimidates you, you can just park at the bottom on the street as we did and walk up. The house is ideally located for exploring the island, sort of right in the center making it easy to go in any direction. Even though we had bad weather, we were able to go in the pool whenever the sun came out for more than an hour, and my guess is that the house is even more delightful when it is sunny and warm. We were just unlucky with unusual amounts of cloudiness. But when the sun came out it was gorgeous. The island itself is extremely beautiful and worth exploring. Our only warning would be that the wifi is only a little device that you put on your computer to bring in a 3G signal, and it only worked outside in one small area. So if you are on a working holiday, as we were, it can make it very difficult to get your work done as it cut in and out all the time and you can't really Skype well on it. And our iPads didn't work at all for Skype. But other than that we would highly recommend this rental for either a couple on a romantic getaway, or a family who want to hang out by the pool and hike and explore. It is a magical place.

Fantastic house, great location, generous hosts!

We booked this villa for our first trip to Madeira based on the pictures, location and price: we were not disappointed! On arrival, we were greeted by Fernanda and her husband who made the perfect hosts (even showing us how to make a jug of the traditional Madeiran drink "poncha" from scratch!) The house was roomy, comfortable and clean and the outside terrace and pool area boasted fantastic panoramic views of the sea, yet still managed to feel secluded and private. We also made great use of the barbecue on numerous occasions! The house is, however, set in the side of a mountain which evidently makes walking to and from the house arduous, especially in the heat! Calheta is nice enough with a supermarket and a couple of bars and restaurants, however make sure you hire a car in order to fully experience the Madeiran culture and food/drink offerings. There is a lovely local restaurant (again, only accessible by car!) called Restaurante Convento das Vinhas which we visited a couple of times during our two week stay- great food and service and a great view at the top of a cliff over-looking the sea (try the fillet steaks and their "espetada"!) Funchal centre is about a 40 minute drive from the house (sticking to the main "rapido" road and through the tunnels) which has many restaurants and shops to look around, as well as the Cable Car that takes you up to Monte. From there you can take another Cable Car to the Jardim Botanico and spend the afternoon walking round the manicured gardens and the exotic bird aviary. Driving back along the south coast, visit Ribeira Brava and Camara de Lobos for more great sea-views and restaurants & bars. Fernanda was on-hand throughout our visit answering any questions we had and always recommending where to go and what to see around Madeira. We were happy that were were on the South coast of the island as we visited the Northern part a couple of times (via the ER104 to Sao Vincente) and found it cloudy and noticeably cooler- apparently this is the normal climate due to it's location and mountainous surroundings. All in all, we had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday in Madeira: exactly what we'd hoped for. The house was a perfect home for our two week stay and are recommending it to friends and family. We may be back to see you next year Fernanda!

Keine Empfehlung,weil es viele falsche Behauptungen im Inserat gab: Pool nicht beheizt, obwohl so mit dem Haus geworben wird. Wohnfläche angeblich 300 m², der obere Teil ist aber abschlossen - es waren ca. 120 m². Die Betten waren katastrophal, nur 180 cm lang, viel zu hoch, so dass man fast vom Bett runterspringen musste. Das Haus war ausgekühlt, als wir ankamen. Im Inserat wurde damit geworben, dass der Kamin benutzt werden kann, was aber nicht möglich war. Ein zusätzlicher Heizlüfter wurde zur Verfügung gestellt. Wir waren auf Madeira aber viel unterwegs, auch wenn es oft geregnet hat, so dass es für uns ein gelungener Urlaub war. Das Inserat muss dringend korrigiert werden, weil die Inhalte eine Irreführung darstellt.

Haus ist toll. Pool großartig. Küche klasse.Die Einrichtung war - bis auf die Schlafzimmer - sehr ansprechend. Schönes Wohnzimmer mit tollen Möbeln.Bemängeln möchte ich die Betten. Kein großes Bett für zwei Personen.Bett in einem Zimmer war optisch schick (Echtholz), jedoch kein geräuschloses Drehen möglich. Auch die Länge war nicht optimal.Zimmer: zwei Metallbetten, das Gestell war auch nicht zu stabil. Das waren wahrscheinlich ausrangierte Krankenhausbetten mit Rollen unten dran. Das entspricht nicht dem Standard einer Luxusvilla!Vielleicht lassen sich die Mängel noch beheben, an dem ansonsten tollen Haus.Viele Grüße
