Great Location in the City

We had a great time in London, our apartment was super well located. Near two big train stations. It couldn't have been easier to arrive with the Eurostar. The flat was spacious for a family of three and well equipped. The one negative aspect, it was stuffy (of course it's July) and with the windows open, it was quite loud in the mornings. Still, I do recommend this apartment.

Euston Flat above strip club

The flat was very close to the tube station but was on a very busy road above a strip club which they never mentioned in the ad and the actual location wasn’t given until I booked and couldn’t cancel without forfeiting at least 50% of fee. Street noise was pretty relentless and in this heat you needed the windows open through the night which meant it was pretty impossible to sleep, things quietened down at around 3.30am but before this the access to the station for Network Rail night works was right opposite and cars used it to show off their exhausts. Street outside was strewn with rubbish from bins which isn’t the flat owners issue but made things feel a bit edgy. Flat is advertised as sleeping 4 but the sofa bed was a pretty useless thing for 1 teenager let alone 2 so one of them slept on the floor. Made you sign a rental agreement after booking with conditions that differed from Vbro so when I tried to cancel they relied on Vbro conditions and not their own to suit themselves and pretty much ensure we would go ahead with the booking. Location was good for Tube but neighbourhood less than ideal and flat that wasn’t really for 4 on very noisy road.

Didn't live up to the pictures

The good: This property is well situated for travel by bus or train in/out of Euston and Kings Cross/St. Pancras. By European standards, it's spacious and did have minimal kitchen facilities including a dishwasher. The water pressure in the shower was good, can't comment on hot water availability because we only used cold. Communication with the management team was good and responses to issues were prompt. We were provided 2 fans to help circulate air and try to cool down. The linens were crisp and clean. The bad: It's located on a busy street, right next to the Euston bus station (lots of idling buses on the street below), and half a block or so from a busy fire station (lots of sirens all night). Maybe this is okay for good sleepers in a cooler season, but in the summer it's mandatory to have the windows open or you'll simply roast. We were there for regular London summer weather and it was stuffy and hot, and the major heatwave and it was unbearable. The stairwell smells terribly of mold and garbage. There was a garbage bag just outside our door for days and though it wasn't ours, we finally just took it out to the bins to be rid of it. You can tell there was an attempt made to update this flat but it wasn't thorough enough. As another reviewer stated, there is mold in the shower as well as gunk in the bathroom fan. The sofa bed was broken when we arrived -- someone had ripped off the leg and just shoved it back in the storage area, management sent someone to fix it promptly, but it took them hours to repair it while our 6 year old waited to go to sleep. When the sofa was flattened into a bed, many crumbs were revealed in the crevice between the top and bottom pieces. The "toiletries" provided were 6 bottles of shampoo and 1 bar of soap. We ended up leaving the soap at the sink and using the shampoo as body wash. Given a choice I wouldn't stay there again.

Noise and more Noise

The unit is situated well-close to train and underground station. Not having the exact address during booking we booked it for the location. That was a mistake. The unit is very noisy and when you close the window it is very hot. There is no air conditioning and only one working fan was provided. The furniture is all IKEA and very uncomfortable-including the very soft mattress. The bathroom had black mold around shower door and the bedding smelled like it had not been dried and put back on the bed. We would not stay or recommend the unit.
