Wedding Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend attending a family wedding whilst staying at Barnsley Cottage. The house was very homely and cosy, with ample space for our large family. It was well equipped with lots of personal touches particularly the mulled wine set to go for our arrival. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if in the area. Thanks to Annabelle our host who made it a stay to remember.

Perfect meeting place for friends

Barnsley Cottage provided the perfect location for old friends to celebrate a birthday together. It is well equipped and extremely homely. The kitchen and sitting room are connected making it a lovely place to cook and eat while relaxing. Annabel is an excellent host who reacted very quickly to any queries.

Excellent

This property exceeded my expectations. We felt right at home and everything you could possibly need was provided. The beds and pillows were especially comfortable. My only issue is that we didn't stay longer.

Comfortable Barnsley Cottage

Barnsley Cottage was absolutely perfect for what we wanted - 3 families spending the weekend together under 1 roof. It was welcoming, cosy, homely and comfortable. The large warm kitchen was ideal and it was good for 10 of us to sit round the table. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms spacious. The attic bedrooms were perfect for the 4 children. The house and garden were dog friendly and the garden big enough to play in. Absolutely everything was provided and Annabel, the house owner, was welcoming and friendly. We would definitely come back.

Generally excellent throughout

All good - beds particularly comfortable, but lounge sofas a bit uncomfortable. Garden and outdoor games provided excellent - suited our grandchildren.

A family weekend

We recently stayed at Barnsley Cottage for a weekend with our to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversay. The cottage is spacious but cosy. The garden was beautiful. We could easily reach the places we wanted to visited. My only criticism is that there were so many cupboards that at first it was hard to find things

Very disappointed

We booked through Stay Cotswolds. The property was dirty and smelt terrible. I cleaned it and had to wash all the kitchen utensils before we used them. The carpets were stained and the house smelt. The pictures don’t reflect the condition of the property. I have complained to Stay Cotswolds and they just said I hope you enjoyed the Cotswolds. Won’t be booking through them again.

Perfect family cottage

Fantastic family holiday at Barnsley Cottage. We loved everything about it. Plenty of space for three generations, comfortable and well equipped. My grand daughter (age 4) said ‘the beds are like marshmallows’ and she was right. Lovely garden for the children to play in and for the adults to relax.

Weekend away with friends

Fantastic old cottage, extensively stocked with every type of kitchen appliance and equipment you could need. The cottage layout lends itself to inclusive dining and socialising and is well located in the village for the local pubs. The garden is beautiful with all day sunshine with bbqs for all. Would definitely recommend it and return.

Absolutely lovely home from home!

The cottage was a big hit with all the family. It had everything you might need and what you might not think you need. We all enjoyed our stay and all the home comforts and we would definitely recommend the cottage to all.

Excellent stay for my 30th

We hired the house to celebrate my 30th birthday with family. We had a great time there, the house is very cosy and right in the middle of the Cotswolds. The fireplace was perfect to relax after a day out.

Family celebration

Ideal for multi generational family. Enclosed garden great for the dog to roam.Comfy beds. Plenty of hot water for 10. Well equipped with lots of little extras you dont think about. Underfloor heating in kitchen and log burner great addition especially as the weather was a little indifferent. Village pub across the road is worth a visit Cant wait to go back.

The Dream Cotswold Cottage

Barnsley Cottage is just gorgeous. The garden is quite large, fully enclosed so safe for dogs and children, and equipped with copious amounts of garden furniture and some outdoor equipment for children. Inside there is a fabulous kitchen/dining room with all the equipment one could wish for and plenty of crockery, cutlery, etc. There are 2 very comfortable lounges with games, TV, etc. Upstairs the 5 individual bedrooms are extremely comfortable and spacious, 2 of them with en-suite facilities and there is a large family bathroom. The house has a wonderful homely feel and there are interesting decorative objects everywhere, from pretty bonnets to a full-sized rocking horse. I felt I could give my grandchildren a history lesson about all these artifacts from a bygone age! The house was spotless and well-maintained. I think every member of our group from the 7 year-old to the 72 year-old loved the cottage and our stay there.

Charming Cotswolds stay

Our multigenerational group of 9 had a lovely stay at the house in July. It is very well equipped for a holiday stay with a fantastic kitchen, toys for the kids, bbq etc and has very comfortable beds. The garden is well maintained with plenty of space. A nice welcome basket from the host who was also in touch to check if we had any issues (which we didn’t). Very well located for visiting different areas of the Cotswolds. We would stay again.

Birthday Celebrations

We stayed here for my partners 50th birthday celebration with parents and teenagers. There was plenty of room for everyone to both have their own space and to come together. Lots of lovely touches such as books and board games and a perfect location to visit the beautiful Cotswolds. We will definitely be back!

A wonderful week

Lovely house for our family get together. The house was exceptionally well equipped and a good size for a group of 10 + baby + dog. The owner was very helpful and dealt with a couple of minor niggles promptly. Would thoroughly recommend.

Comfortable cozy cottage

Stayed with my family and our family friends on the trip with us, 4 adults and 4 kids ranging from 3-12. The house was so comfortable and spacious for us, and great to have outside space for the kids to run around in. The home was well stocked and we loved sitting in the living room with a fire going while we played board games in the evening. Cute little pub/restaurant down the street for dinners out. Close to Bibury and Burford and Bourton on the Water, which we spent our days exploring. Really comfortable stay and would be happy to stay there again!
