Amazing weekend
Host couldn't have been better. Prompt helpful replies to anything we needed. Lots of great tips. The view of the river was amazing. Bunk room was great but would have loved to have some pics of it in the post. Also parking is a bit tricky. But everything else was amazing.

Amazing Stay!
My family took an “evacuation vacation” from Florida during hurricane Milton. We had children ranging ages 2-11. The house was perfect with everything we needed. Being on the river was so fun. We fished, tubed and did the rope swing just right outside the house. There were zero cars so we felt comfortable letting the kids play while we watched from the large window in the family room. Family dinners were peaceful on the porch and we finished the day with a fire and s’mores. Host provided recommendations for local activities and the hike we took by waterfalls was the most memorable. The town was cute and I really have no complaints.

Location was awesome. The entrance to creek was very accessible and well kept. The house was fully stock and even had enough towels, linens and kitchen supply’s. Blackstone was also very nice. The parking has room for about 3 cars and is a little tight, but manageable. If your car is front wheel drive and fully loaded you may spin leaving the property, but just take your time and you’ll be fine.

Great house with amazing views of the river. House had a great layout. Decks on each floor. Kitchen was nice with plenty of sitting space Wildlife everywhere when entering the gated community. Great weekend! Amy thank you for your quick responses. Highly recommend!

Great Family Week
The house is very good for a large group family vacation. Plenty of room and things to do, both at the house and in the surrounding area. We spent a day at Lake Blue Ridge, a day at Amicalola Falls State Park, went to a Braves Baseball game, visited a winery with live music and a brewery. The grandsons and a few of the adults went tubing and swimming in Mountaintown Creek and enjoyed the hot tub after, the water is cold. And there was at least one pool tourney. A very enjoyable week. A Walmart is not far for convenient pickups.

This place was absolutely amazing! I wanted to give my aging parents a vacation with all the family. This place did not disappoint!!. I will say that if someone in your party has a problem climbing stairs, then they may have a problem here. My dad has problems with this. I had him use the back door and come up from the terrace level. Getting up to the front door from the driveway is about 30 steps and they are pretty steep. However, he had no problems getting up from the back. The driveway is gravel and very narrow. Make sure someone with good eyesight is driving. Those are my two things to “warn” people about. Now having said that, we loved the river, the jacuzzi, the fire pit, the beauty, the serenity, and the whole place! Amy is quick to respond and answer questions. You will not regret going here!!

We enjoyed our stay at Trout Trap Cabin, there plenty of room. Enjoyed relaxing on the cozy porch while enjoying the fire, in the evening & morning. Loved listening to the sounds of the river & walking along the side of the river. Nice place for family & friends to hangout. There are a lot of stairs to get into the Cabin, but we climbed them!

Labor Day weekend
Great house! There is a lot of space inside and outside. The grandkids had a lot of fun fishing and swimming. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. We hiked and went to an apple orchard. We would definitely rent this house again.

We enjoyed our stay. The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cool. The house had everything we needed. We hung out, played games and drove to town to play pickle ball and eat. Relaxing Cabin
We (8 of us) stayed here for long weekend. The kitchen is very well equipped and my husband enjoyed using the griddle and grill outside. We really enjoyed the fire pit and when it rained the kids enjoyed the hot tub. There are a lot of stairs going in from the driveway which was a bit challenging, but not terrible. The beds and furniture in the house were comfortable. The outdoor porch furniture wasn’t super comfortable, which was a little disappointing because the sound of the creek flowing is so relaxing, it would be great to have some nicer patio furniture for enjoying that. The drive in is paved until the last half mile. The are some steep parts on the unpaved section and with a lot of rain our less “outdoorsy” cars were a bit challenged but made it! Overall, this is a great space; we would stay here again and would recommend it!!

Very secluded and spectacular views from every deck and window at this cabin. Heat issue but owners totally responsive and had a repair person there early next morning. All amenities at cabin readily available. Thank you 😊

Why they chose this property

We love coming to Ellijay and the fact that it is so close to our house in Milton is a big bonus for us. Our kids love playing in the water, riding dirt bikes and fishing. It is so nice to be in the mountains and on the water in a place that feels so remote but you are less than 15 minutes from shops, restaurants, and grocery stores.

What makes this property unique

The word “Ellijay” is an Anglicized form of a Cherokee word, perhaps meaning "place of green things" or "many waters." This would make a lot of sense considering this is the place where the Ellijay and Cartecay Rivers meet forming the Coosawattee River. The Coosawattee and Mountaintown come together and flow into Carter’s Lake: A gorgeous recreational lake developed by the Corps of Engineers. This region abounds with wildlife, including deer, wild turkeys, bears, eagles, and hawks. The Rivers are a favorite for trout fishermen or feel free to our stocked fishing pond within the resort.
