About this property

Driftwood Cottage - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4

Driftwood Cottage is a delightful two bedroom property all on one level, making it great for all the family, situated in the wonderfully unspoilt Tamar Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site. Located next to the picturesque Hewton House, in a small hamlet down a quiet country lane, the cottage itself boasts fabulous views of the Tamar Estuary, Cornwall and beyond.  Everyone who stays here comments on this incredible view.  Relax, unwind and dine al fresco on the decking in the enclosed garden while watching the sun go down over the river.  Just a couple miles from Driftwood Cottage is the village of Bere Alston where you will find many of the necessities you may need during your stay, complete with small shops, post office, cafe and butcher. Also nearby is Bere Ferrers where you will find The Olde Plough Inn serving delicious food. Tavistock, a pretty market town where Sir Francis Drake was born, is just eight miles away, bursting with many small independent shops along with many antique and craft markets.  Dartmoor, with all of its open space and fabulous walking, lies just beyond.  Buckland Abbey is also somewhere not to be missed, a National Trust house and gardens with plenty to explore.

Beautiful cottage
Very nice little house, well equipped with a great view. The streets towards the house are very narrow. The only disadvantage was, that the WLAN did not work in the afternoon and the evening on a regular basis.
