Casa La Hoya
The holiday home Casa La Hoya is located in the foothills of Andalucía and close to the picturesque village of Competa and boasts beautiful views of the mountains down to the sea, The holiday home consists of a cosy living room with a rustic fireplace, a very well-equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms (2 with Double Beds, 0ne with 2 Single Beds) as well as a full bathroom and can therefore accommodate 4 people. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a washing machine. A highchair and a baby cot are also available upon request. One of the main attractions of the house is its private outdoor area, which consists of a lush garden with garden furniture and sun loungers, a covered terrace with chairs, a outdoor barbecue area where you can prepare delicious dishes and a generous pool where guests can cool off on warm summer days. You will find a wide selection of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes in the local village of Competa just 5 minutes away by car (2km), while the closest beach on Algarrobo Costa can be reached after a 20-minute drive (14km). The charming city of Málaga, birthplace of the famous painter Pablo Picasso, is 45 minutes driving away (45km), while the closest airport can be reached after 50 minutes driving (50km). Private parking is available on the property. Bed linens and towels are included in the price.

From the start of booking and any questions till checking out carl was so helpful and quick to come back with any queries we had. The house was lovely and in a very quiet area with a great pool. You do need a car if staying here as you have to drive to whatever you want to do.

Well equipped Villa in Stunning Location

Very comfortable villa with most amazing pool , great views and outdoor spaces. A short drive from Competa where there are restaurants and shops.

Fantastic for the whole family

A beautiful villa that was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. It surpassed all our expectations. We loved the fact that we were so secluded; a truly relaxing escape from day to day life! Carl, the manager, was very kind and helpful if we needed anything.

Wow! What a gem

The villa has everything and more. Perfectly equipped for a wonderful stay. Home from home comforts. The aircon and the pool were a godsend during our very warm stay. The location is perfect with stunning views. We loved hearing the goats and cockrels. Would definately stay again. A beautiful area, that we hold very close to our hearts.

Lovely Villa. Very secluded.

Nice property and the pool area is lovely. It’s very secluded and nothing is walkable, so important to plan for that. A property handbook would be useful. Communications with the property manager was ok, with most issues resolved quickly.

What a place!

We had a lovely time in this beautiful villa. The surrounding area is gorgeous and the late evenings on the terrace looking at the amazing view was just lovely. Carl was ace and massively helpful with everything that was needed. The living space and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the pool is wonderful. Cómpeta is very easy to get to with very easy parking too.

Perfect peace in a modern mountain villa

We loved our stay here. The property itself was spotless, fresh and modern but also had lots of homely amenities should we need them. On arrival Jenny and the team were so lovely and welcoming. And Carl quickly came to our rescue when we locked ourselves out one day. It's a very peaceful spot and has a beautiful view through the hills down to the sea. The weather was sunny every day and we'd usually head out in the morning and come back and sit and play in the pool with our two year old for the afternoon. The pool was a bit deep for her but she still got to swim with us and splash around. There's lots of seating by the pool and whilst it gets the sun almost all day there's always a spot of shade if you need it with a little one. There's not tons to do in the immediate area with a young child, we had to drive down to the coast to find more activities, this was a generally easy 30 min drive. A truly gorgeous spot though and a lovely property, the rest and relaxation that we really needed. I wish I could wake up here every day and just sit with a coffee and watch the sun rise in the mountains!

Das Haus ist soweit super. Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet was es braucht (kein Geschirrspüler – haben wir aber auch nicht vermisst). Es gab sogar Nähzeug und einen Erste-Hilfe-Kasten. In den Betten konnten wir gut schlafen. Das Bad bietet eine Badewanne. Das Highlight ist der Pool, dessen Temperatur über der des Meeres lag. Wenn es etwas zum Verbessern hat, dann mehr Möglichkeiten (Schränke, Truhen) zum Unterbringen der mitgebrachten Bekleidung.Zur Lage: Das Anwesen liegt etwas abgeschieden in den Axarquia-Bergen unweit von Competa, einer malerischen „weißen“ Kleinstadt. Kein Verkehrslärm, nur ab und an hört man mal einen Flieger. Drum herum hat es jede Menge andere Fincas, allerdings mit großem Abstand zueinander. Die Anfahrt ist problemlos mit einem Normal-PKW zu bewältigen, wenn man bis zur Tapas-Bar „Venta de Palma“ oberhalb von Competa auf der A-7207 bleibt und über verschiedene kleine befestigte Straßen zum Haus fährt. Es ist die Strecke, die Gastgeber Carl bei der Ankunft zeigt. Manches Navi versucht, einen auf parallele Nebenstrecken, die vermeintlich 5 Minuten kürzer sind, zu lenken. Dann kann es wirklich steil und eng werden. Als Strand empfehlen wir den Playa de Cantarrijan östlich von Nerja, da kann man in der Nachsaison mit dem Auto bis zu einem strandnahen Parkplatz fahren. Die Fahrzeit bis dahin liegt bei ungefähr 50 Minuten. Bis zur A7 etwa 25-30 Minuten. Alles in allem gibt es für das Haus und die nette Betreuung durch Carl volle Punktzahl von uns.

Es war ein großartiger Urlaub in einem wunderschönen Haus. Man benötigt zwingend ein gutes Auto mit etwas Power unter der Haube, um die Gegend zu bereisen. Das hatten wir und so genossen wir eine ruhige fast -Alleinlage, den tollen Pool ( ca.7x3 m und bis zu 1,80m tief) und ein sehr gut ausgestattetes Haus. Es war alles da, was wir benötigten, sogar einige Lebensmittel und Getränke. Der Check in und die Kommunikation mit Carl waren sehr nett und problemlos. Alles top!

Dépaysement total !

La maison est top et super propre en haut de la montagne sans voisin autour ! Les enfants ont passé la totalité du séjour dans la piscine à 30 degrés ! Il y a de quoi faire à manger et laver le linge . Le village de Competa est à 10 mn de voiture et c’est uniquement la bas que l’on peut faire des courses ou faire un restaurant. Pas d’activités à faire avec les enfants à Competa pour cela il faut faire au minimum 30 mn de voiture , pareil pour la plage la plus proche . Cela nous a permis les faire un vrai break loin de tout !

Location au top

Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances dans cette location conforme à l'annonce et bien équipée (manque un micro-onde pour réchauffer les restes mais à la poêle c'est possible aussi☺️). A noter : il faut compter 20 mn pour descendre la montagne et atteindre un grand axe. La location est très calme, c'est très reposant! Petit point négatif, nous avons cassé malheureusement, un miroir, une lampe et un transat. Le propriétaire a demandé qu'on règle les biens à l'état neuf. On le comprend pour la lampe et le miroir mais le transat (couture qui a craqué) on a payé l'usure du transat à force de servir. On n'a plus osé s'asseoir sur les autres, c'est dommage... Malgré cela, nous reviendrons sans problème, une adresse à retenir!

Un paradis dans la montagne…

Quel séjour extraordinaire chez Carl! Sa maison est sublime et très bien équipée. La piscine parfaite en tous points. Tout était très propre et chaleureux. Quant à Carl, il est un hôte charmant et arrangeant, tout pour faire de notre séjour une véritable pause enchantée dans notre quotidien.

Lovely location and fantastic views

Very restful. Hadn't been to this part of Spain before. Everything you need for a restful holiday. Absence of air con in the smallest bedroom, fans didn't do a great deal. Otherwise a pleasant holiday.

Amazing Villa

Great villa with fantastic facilities. A power issue (region wide) interrupted our stay. Carl and the owners looked after us really well. Will definitely be back for the full duration next time. Great clean pool, friendly bars nearby and stunning views. Close to the coast, Competa and other mountain villages. A great bass to do exploring from. We absolutely loved it.
