Ground Floor:

Bedroom 1: Single (3ft) Bed

First Floor:

Bedroom 2: Kingsize (5ft) Bed, (Ensuite Also Accessed From Hallway) Ensuite: Bath With Shower Attachment, Cubicle Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. . Front garden. Back garden with patio, summerhouse, sitting-out area and garden furniture. On road parking. No smoking.. This lovely Cottage is packed with original features and just oozes charm. As you first enter, you will find yourself in a handy lobby for storing shoe and coats, then through the traditional oak-braced latched door, you will enter the cosy living room with stunning beams, dining area with log burning stove. The kitchen is off the living room and is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and a wine cooler. On the first floor, you find two bedrooms, a single bedroom with views over the garden plus a spacious kingsize bedroom with beautiful feature beams. This floor also has its bathroom that Jack and Jill’s between the master bedroom and second bedroom. Outside, to the rear is a real suntrap of a garden where you can sit out whatever the weather making use of the lovely summer house which has views over the fells.

Visit the pretty town of Appleby, enjoy a tour of the castle or take a trip along the Carlisle to Settle Railway line which stops off in the town. The market town of Penrith is also just a short drive away for a great day out with lots of shops and restaurants. The Lake District is just a short drive away where you could enjoy a trip on one of the Ullswater Steamers or take a tour of a local distillery.

1 Townhead cottage was brilliant a real home from home. Plenty room for the 3 of us and our dog all rooms very spacious. Everything was in cottage that you require for a quality stay short or long. Kirkby Thore has post office/shop which is well stocked and has all your dailly needs. Penrith was 10 mins away with supermarkets, Mcdonalds and would recommended Lotus Garden chinese takeaway too. Ideal location for walks, Pooley Bridge, Kirby Stephen and Lake District. Will 100% recommend to friends and family and would definitely return

Cosy cottage

We had a nice 3 nights in the cottage. The location was good, it was peaceful and the summer house in the garden was a sunny spot to sit with a drink. The neighbours were friendly and helpful with suggestions about places to visit and recycling etc. The only downside was that the bedding was rather shabby and stained ( although clean) as were the towels, renewal needed!

Lovely cottage that really stole my heart.

Lovely cottage that really stole my heart. I was renting it for work purposes, so my needs were probably different to others staying for a holiday. Theres not alot going on in the village, so if you are looking for coffee shops and a pub it may not be for you. For me, it delivered everything I needed. The bedroom and bathroom is spectacular. My dog was comfortable there too. She loved the cottage and seemed to settle in very quickly. There is an easy walk straight into the fields out the back of the property, no busy road. The track leads to the stream, perfect for swimming. The property itself is very nicely equipped, there are a few tired areas, but this is just cosmetic. For the price I paid, I was very happy. There is a log burner which i never used. The cottage does not supply logs, you have to buy them yourself. The heaters in the property work really well. I never felt cold.Kitchen is small but had everything I needed. Some people may require more. But i managed perfectly. Overall i would say this . Worth mentioning there is a chap next door that is very helpful if you have any problems. He was able to sort out a hot water issue for me. He makes a good meringue too! Id say this little cottage is a little gem and very good value for money.
