Private, clean and cozy, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, lower-level apartment w/amenities galore!~~
~~Living Area & Kitchenette~~
Open your front door to a cheery, welcoming living area with a 50-inch, smart TV equipped with expanded cable, DVD player and a variety of DVDs to enjoy. You will have a secure, yet strong WiFi Signal to stream your Netflix or Amazon accounts directly on the 50-inch TV. You can cuddle up on the comfy sofa, next to the electric fireplace in front of the peaceful, succulent terrarium after you’ve filled your belly with your favorite foods. The kitchenette is perfectly equipped to prep food because it has a dishwasher, apartment-size fridge/freezer combo, toaster/convection oven, dual-burner, microwave and coffee pot. Prefer to order delivery? You will be stocked with everything you need to order in along with a variety of complimentary fruit, light breakfast and snack options. We don’t want you going hungry while enjoying the trail system! The living area is fitted with a comfortable memory foam, queen-size sofa sleeper to accommodate the kiddos or a 2nd couple!
The bright and spotless bathroom has a tub/shower combination, a sink (with all the hair tools you need), medicine cabinet (with 1st aid kit and basic medication) as well as a clean, tidy toilet area. Towel off using the soft, fluffy towels then wrap yourself with the provided his and hers robes. Fresh, fluffy linens will be provided at the start of your stay, with additional linens for stays over 8 nights or you could opt for daily linen service for an additional fee!
~~Bedroom & Sitting Area~~
The bedroom side of your apartment is at ground-level allowing for loads of sunlight to stream into the sitting area of the bedroom. It’s the perfect spot to snuggle up with a good hiking/biking book (variety of Colorado hike/bike books provided) to plan your next day of adventure! After a long, strenuous day of activity, roll yourself up into the smooth, crisp sheets, blankets and pillows on your queen-size bed for a restful night. The dresser and mirror within your bedroom allow for you to ready yourself for a night on the town! Colorado is one of the most beautiful and sunny places in the world, but we can get some weather from time to time impeding our ability to be outdoors. Don’t fret if you choose these accommodations! Just look in your large, walk-in closet for a variety of board games, puzzles, cards, reading material and DVD’s to keep you busy until the Colorado storm passes.
You will access the apartment via a self-check-in process and enter your front door through the shared garage. Keep in mind, aside from getting the mower out once a week in the summer, we do not even park our cars in the garage and most of the time, we rarely even meet our guests. Our family is accustom to hearing it open/close, at all hours, because we have hosted long-term tenants for many years and understand some guests will have a healthy night-life, coming and going at late hours. The benefit to you, is the ability to store all of your Adventure gear inside! Need room for extra bikes? Need a rack for your snowboards or skis? Well, it's included with your reservation! Bring all your toys with you! ~~Extra Amenities Included With Stay~~ Guests will have access and use of garage space for storage, two mountain bikes, two hiking backpacks, two hiking poles, two sleds, ski rack for ski/board storage (during winter), picnic backpack with plates, cups, flatware, etc…., games, puzzles cards, DVD’s, hiking/biking books and maps, soft his/hers robes as well as light, breakfast and snack items, along with coffee, tea and other beverages.

Interaction with guests
Our goal was to automate this process for guests who prefer to be private and enjoy a place to themselves. The Adventure Guide was carefully crafted with you in mind! Open the guide to the Table of Contents and locate anything and everything you might need to know. In it, you can find directions to locate the charming lakes throughout our community, a map to get on the bike trails or simply our recommendation for the best cup of coffee! It’s all there for you! If you prefer to engage with us, we love our amazing state of Colorado and will gladly assist as you plan out your day of adventures!
Other things to note
~~You must acknowledge the following~~
~~Layout Description ~~
A standard hotel room is approximately 325 square feet, so at 550 square feet, this one-bedroom is slightly larger. It CAN sleep four but probably not very comfortably if you are staying for an extended period of time, want privacy from your travel companions (although bedroom has locking door), or plan to spend much of your time indoors. The bedroom has a queen size bed which can sleep two. The open concept living area includes the kitchenette and TV viewing space has a queen-size, sleeper sofa which also sleeps two. We do not provide nor do we allow additional beds to be brought into the space.
~~Potential for Noise~~
This is a basement apartment, partially above ground and our family lives above it. We try to be respectfully quiet when guests are here but you will hear sounds associated with typical life. We have one, teenage daughter and three little (ish), well-behaved dogs. The dogs are generally not “barkers” but will bark, on occasion, like if someone comes to the front door or when we come home from work. We work and go to school, during normal daytime hours. The dogs get crated when we are not at home and are always quiet once inside their crates. We have installed some soundproof material behind the door which adjoins the home and the lower-level to reduce the transfer of some noise.
The door between our home and the apartment remains closed and locked at all times. We even go around and through the garage to clean it. We have had a long-term tenant for the past three years (no pets) and our dogs have not been down there (at all) in this time. We also had the carpets replaced two years ago and they have never stepped foot on the new carpet. Two of the dogs are considered hypo-allergenic as well, although I do not believe this is 100%. Only you can decide if this will work for your allergies.
Although Colorado is 420 friendly, the inside of our home (and smoking/vaping of it), our front yard (and smoking/vaping of it), your car in/on our driveway (and smoking/vaping it) nor our neighbor’s yard (and smoking/vaping of it) is NOT 420 friendly. You must partake in all smoking or vaping of it offsite and off property.
For insurance purposes, any and all guests staying overnight must be listed on the Airbnb booking before your stay begins. You assume responsibility for any damages done by those on the reservation or non-overnight visitors you may have.
We assume you will be spending most of your days outside exploring but do note, you may enjoy our front yard, which has lovely green grass, small wooden tree swing (for one) and some colorful flowers (in the summer), but there is no use of our backyard. Don't forget though, you could grab a bottle of wine and head to the lakeside gazebo with expansive mountain views only a few steps from our yard!
Carla’s home is located in Westminster, Colorado, United States. Our neighborhood is perfectly situated to almost anywhere you may want to go! You can get to Denver or Boulder in minutes! We are almost exactly in the middle! You can be on a mountain trail or get to Red Rocks in about 20 minutes. You can be in Summit County skiing Brekenridge, Vail or Winter Park in about 90 minutes! It is about 5 minutes via car to I-25 and about 10 minutes to I-70 which can take you to Coors field, Mile High Stadium, The Denver Mint, Red Rocks and/or the RiNO district. Coming for the stock show? We are just a quick ride to the Denver Coliseum and National Western Complex! Show at the 1st Bank Center in your future? We are minutes from their door! Within 15-20 minutes (10 miles or so), you can be in Denver shopping at the 16th Street Mall, parusing Denver Art Museum, Denver Museum of Nature & Science or the Botanic Gardens or getting some adrenaline "on" at Elitchs Amusment Park!!!! The apartment acts as your trailhead as you take off on the two mountain bikes and spend the day exploring the trails all the way to Denver or Boulder. Our community has miles and miles of trails, open space and community parks. Fill up the “picnic backpack” we provide and take it on your ride or journey onto the paved walkways (within our neighborhood), which wind through a series of clean, man-made lakes! Something for everyone!

About Carla Chavez
I am a mother of two and the wife of an amazing husband! My background and education is within the field of education having previously worked as a teacher and administrator. Now, I make my full-time living through the economy sharing apps and love working for myself! The best part is meeting all of you!
Carla Chavez purchased this Apartment in 2011
Why Carla Chavez chose North Central Westminster
We bought our home because it is a lovely, quiet and well-maintained neighborhood with exceptional schools. As a former teacher, this was very important to me. When our son moved out, to go to college, I kept going downstairs to dust and realized, if I added a small kitchenette, we had a free-standing, one-bedroom apartment and so our short-term unit was born!
What makes this Apartment unique
Our neighborhood is called Stratford Lakes because it has several man-made lakes scattered throughout the community. We have some incredible mountain views in our community. In fact, I often see photographers bring clients and do photo shoots at our lakes. We are also situated directly on the Big Dry Creek open space and trail system. This allows for us to take off right from our home and experience the wildlife right in our backyard, literally!

Great private space
Great spot loaded with all of the amenities of Home.... comfortable, clean, easy access to Denver and boulder.. overall great experience:)
Friendly host and great location
Our family came to this area to facilitate our moving our son into college at CU Boulder. Carla was extremely helpful prior to arrival with suggestions on truck rentals, furniture stores and other ideas.
Upon arrival the unit is clear and cute. She's done a lot to make it accommodating- coffee, Q tips, snacks and even yogurt and beverages in the mini refrigerator on arrival. She also had mountain bikes, back packs and hiking books at the ready although we were too busy to take on those activities this trip. Even though the unit is within their home with it s own entrance, we had total privacy and never saw Carla but she was always responsive if needed. For example, we wanted to know where to buy a tape measure to measure furniture and her response was - look in the garage you can borrow ours!
This Denver suburb made it a quick dash up to Boulder as well as for us to drive downtown Denve to meet up with relatives for dinner. The location is perfect. We also took in local businessses: Burger Bar is new and fabulous- everything is made in house, even the ketsup. Due to the mission of our trip we hit the Goodwill which is the cleanest thrift shop I've ever been in as well as the Walmart which was also positive. In that same area is a theatre where they wait on you (food, drink, adult beverages) while watching the movie which was novel and good. The city is clean and has a lot of open space and parks. Her neighborhood is quiet and nicely maintained.
Overall a great stay. The one issue we had Carla was really on it and is making adjustments. I know this is true because she follows through. When my son left his speaker cord there, she let me know and personally delivered it to my son's house in Boulder in two days- way above and beyond my question of whether she would be okay with putting it in the mail. A strong recommend on this abode.
