A 5 bedroom, single-storey, architect designed home.
Originally the wood mill for the Bulwick Estate, owned by the Tryon and Conant families since 1619, the surrounding deer parks and farmland form part of Rockingham Forest. This stunning property has been restored to create a spacious five bedroom, single-storey, architect designed home which sympathetically blends in with its beautiful surroundings.
The impressive double height, open-plan living space with kitchen, dining and sitting room is the focal point of the house with a stunning kitchen, fully-equipped with areas of both standard and low height work tops, an accessible sink, ovens and hobs. Bi-folding doors open up to allow the living area to seamlessly extend to the terrace which looks directly onto the surrounding ancient woodland. There is plenty of space to spread out including an arts and crafts room/playroom, perfect for all ages to paint, draw, play games and explore their creativity or retreat to the comfortable quiet room to escape to for some tranquil time, with more doors to the terrace. A useful small utility room provides a washing machine and drying area along with space for coats and wellies; and the main hall, with beautiful natural light divides the living and sleeping areas. There are five bedrooms, all with flexible bed options, and named to celebrate the neighbouring wildlife. The main bedroom enjoys double doors leading directly into the garden and woods behind the house along with a beautiful en-suite wet room. The remaining bedrooms have use of two further bath/wet rooms, all of which feature opulent Italian tiles and are fitted with chrome rails and supports.
Outside, fire up the barbecue or the firepit on the large terrace and enjoy al-fresco dining surrounded by the local wildlife. The terrace spills onto the vast lawned area, which leads into woodland, and all 50m x 50m of grounds are fully dog proof, so everyone can relax and unwind. There is also a tennis court on the estate.
Within walking distance are the pretty villages of Harringworth and Bulwick; and for a variety of restaurants, cafes and independent shops, the charming market towns of Uppingham, Oakham, Stamford and Oundle are all within a 20 minute drive.
