Great house to stay in. We really enjoyed the views and the hot tub. Home was clean and well stocked. Paul was great to work with and walked us through where stuff was at. Had a great time and would highly recommend for other couples looking for a getaway.

Stunning Views!!!

I can’t say enough about the location (tucked away just 15 min. Drive to most modern conveniences), but no worry
. the hosts have it stocked for the basic essentials you could need. We took full advantage of the deck, fire table, grill and OF COURSE relaxed and just took in the gorgeous views!!! Can’t wait for the next visit!

Breath taking views and all the amenities you could possibly need. Never had a need to leave the house except to get a pizza at the local pizzeria down the road in Hope, ID.

Peaceful New Years

There is no better place to relax while recovering from a recent surgery, and the hot tub was just the ticket! This was our second stay and looking forward to another in the near future. The kitchen is superbly equipped and has lots of space to whip up meals. Bed is comfy with an amazing view over the lake. The passing trains are added charm we looked forward to hearing in the distance. One of Hope's gems in the gem state.

Walk into total immersion to a fantastic Garden of Eagin. Construction of this wonderful place is all Paul’s remarkable imagination coupled with unique skills of a master wood worker. Amazing!

The picture don't do it justice. We had an absolutely amazing time. Close enough to Sandpoint but are enough away to feel secluded and in our own. The deck is much larger than it looks and truly a treat to have coffee out on in the morning. Also not a far drive to any number of hiking trails and a short drive to rent a boat in how. Couldn't recommend this place more. Property owners were a wealth of knowledge and eager to ensure we had an enjoyable experience. 10/10

Heavenly Retreat

Serenity welcomed us as soon as we arrived. The peaceful solitude of this private oasis has breathtaking views overlooking the lake from the main rooms of the house as well as the immense deck. I felt complete with my camera ready to catch the next best shot, binoculars, and a good book about the west to laze away the day reading and watching the changing sky as a storm rolled in. The Merlin app is wonderful as the many song birds are a delight. Cooking was always preferred so as to continue the pleasure of being "home" and sharing the beauty together.

Very Relaxing

This is the dog friendliest place we have ever stayed. There was a large basket with a couple of dog toys, biscuits, poo bags, and food and water bowl. Yard is fenced. Kitchen is fully stocked and very organized. Very good cookware and not yard sale leftovers. Deck has a view of lake. Very private and quiet. Our second and probably not last stay.

We are high school sweethearts from a small town in Alabama, college graduates from Auburn University and a married couple who fell in love with the mountains while on our honeymoon in Montana. That honeymoon trip inspired us to make the mountains our home and, when God opened the door, we took a leap of faith and moved across the country to follow our dreams. We currently live in Columbia Falls, MT with our black lab, Maggie, and a job as a home baker (Bethany) and a home builder (Paul). We prefer to spend our free time surrounded by nature, whether it be mountains or lakes, and love to take relaxing weekend trips to nearby towns. It was because of these interests that we discovered this property and visited as guests several years ago. From the moment we walked in the door, we were surrounded by the peaceful serenity that fills the home and immediately fell in love with it. Our hope is that you feel the same way, too.

Our discovering this property seems like a dream. Before buying the home in June 2017, we were simply guests of an incredible home that Jack and Jeanelle Shields shared with others. And what a blessing it was for us to be able to spend anniversaries and holidays in this spectacular place. They created a vacation experience that surpassed any other rental we had ever visited. And when the opportunity for us to purchase the home presented itself, we could not pass it up. Our goal is to continue the tradition of providing others with a unique, romantic escape to refresh and renew. This house deserves to be shared, and our hope is to to share it with you as it was shared with us.

This house cannot be simply described with words, or even pictures. You must experience it to fully understand it's beauty! The home is situated on a cliff overlooking Lake Pend Oreille and has floor to ceiling windows providing you an expansive view from nearly every room.
