Characterful countryside house in idyllic location enjoying 2.5 acres of private land with views over the Cuckmere valley.
Guests can soak in the hot tub after a tennis match . Both hot tub and tennis court are on site for private use of guests.
The accommodation can host up to 12 guests in comfortable bedrooms with 3 bathrooms.
The kitchen is spacious and opens into a large conservatory.
There are exposed oak beams throughout the property giving it character and warmth.
The dining room and living room are a special feature.
The gardens offer a variety of exotic plants and flowers adding to the charm
Parking is available for up to 5 cars in the driveway.

The property was incredible and the host had incredible communication. Maria could not have been more accommodating and we cannot thank her enough, we had a fabulous stay and hope to be back soon.

Lovely spacious property was perfect for our family weekend. Good kitchen facilities, good space on grounds for children to run and play.

A very pleasent location that matched requirements perfectly. Bedrooms were spacious and well equipe

The property has everything for a very relaxing break. It's close enough for anything most people will want to enjoy. Plus it's location is very secluded and privacy is assured. I would recommend it to anyone.

Unique older style property

Maria was an excellent host . There when we could not get hot tub started . Check in super easy. Good kitchen facilities. Wi fi . The tennis court was the greatest success. We were a family of 12 . 6adults 6children .What a grand house it was. It was a little dated and the Xmas decs tickled us in Aug .but the property was really lovely . Dated and maybe a little run down in places. Not very friendly with two year old as there were a lot of wires exposed in main TV room . There was a pond that we were not aware of beforehand . Quite a lot of clutter in places especially in conservatory where we spent a lot of time . chickens were noisy but we are farmers so not too much of a bother. Had a lovely stay . Hope this review not too critical but wanted to be honest. Thankyou Maria

Thank you for your review. We are temporarily storing some furniture in the conservatory which belongs to the garden room which suffered storm damage. The pond is in the picture and it is a feature that attracts wild ducks. Guests achieving an amazing experience is my goal. Glad you enjoyed yourselves and would love to welcome you back in the future!

Fabulous house but some major issues

This is a truly lovely house on fabulous grounds. Maria was a very pleasant and helpful host. We did however have major issues with the oven which was not satisfactory. We were a party of 8 adults and 2 children and not having use of a working oven was disastrous. There was also a wasps nest in the side of the house with access into the property and so one room in particular was unusable (the main living room) and we spent a good deal of time trying to usher wasps outside from bedrooms (2 of us were stung). Whilst these issues were very very disappointing, I would not be discouraged from visiting again (so long as the issues were addressed because until they are, it is not rentable!!)

Thank you for your valuable feedback. Unfortunately there was a hidden wasp nest which we were unaware of. The nest has now been dealt with. so the issue is no longer an issue. Wasps nests occur from time to time in the countryside. , but once spotted they can be dealt with Apologies for the inconvenience and we hope to see you come back. Yea The oven was working fine, sorry you could not work it out. I had the oven on all the time no issues.

The check-in was super uncomplicated and Maria provided a very thorough explanation of the property. She was contactable by phone at all times. The location of the property is great, the property itself is a great old house with plenty of space and some nice extras (i.e. Tennis court and Hot Tub, both in good condition). Cleanliness, however, was disappointing at best. Fridge, kitchen drawers, oven etc had obviously not been cleaned for a while. All sinks and bathrooms were quite grim, bed sheets same. There was a lot of clutter in some areas like the conservatory with the seating area squished next to the clutter. The house itself is such a great location that it was quite disappointing to find it in such a state, especially considering how much money was charged for the stay. We spent a few hours cleaning first before we could really enjoy the stay. We did definitely not expect this when booking the stay. If general cleanliness and tidiness was addressed, however, it would be a great place to stay and spend a few relaxed days.

Thank you for taking the time to review my amazing home. Really pleased you enjoyed yourselves. In the the hot tub and tennis court, however I find your comments about cleanliness unfair. The house was cleaned thoroughly from top to bottom. All linen is laundered after each stay. The fridge had ice in the freezer as it was requested before. The conservatory had some temporary xtra furniture due to an ongoing repair in the summer house so to avoid damage we had to move the furniture into the conservatory. Apologies! Should you have called me with your cleaning concerns I could have sent you the cleaner. Unfortunately you said everything was great so your comments now after 3 weeks come as a total surprise! And at the very least misleading! You mention oven, there are 2 , one is brand new and the other one has been used 3 times. Kitchen drawers have kitchen utensils which are all clean. One drawer has a few bits and pieces . The way you described it is totally unfair! Nevertheless thank you for leaving such a misleading report and saying in between brackets the hot tub and tennis court are in good condition but one tiny drawer in the kitchen made you write such an awful review!

In a lovely setting, lots of open space & near where my sister lives for the wedding anniversary party - 10 mins walk down the road. Property is a bit tired! Very old in parts if you like that. Owner says you can’t use the main doors because they are too old! Had to enter via the conservatory door - so not very secure at all. (I took my laptop out with me every time!) It worked fine for us because we weren’t staying at the property much - at a celebration down the road. I’m not sure I’d choose to stay there under any other circumstances! For the money we paid - it needs an upgrade. Curtains that don’t close properly, Evidence of rain or damp on some bedroom curtains. kitchen equipment - a bit iffy - I had to wash everything before I used it. Dining room still decorated for Christmas - we were there in May. It had a nice living area - spacious & nicely decorated. There’s a hot tub - we didn’t use it. I don’t think this property can’t advertise itself as a five bedroom property. Because it only has four bedrooms!! One of the rooms is divided - has an extra double bed & bunk bed above - but no division between the two rooms. Fine for families - but not a good space for five couples?? Outside needs attention - outside furniture in poor condition. We weren’t using that space much - but when I was there - I was uncertain about whether to sit on any of the outside chairs. There’s a swimming pool/pond - it needs cleaning. Generally my opinion is this property is poorly maintain.
