It was the right size for two people. It was cozy and comfortable. It is the perfect location for exploring the Boyne River Valley. My wife and I are happy we stayed here. We look forward to staying again.

The barn was beautifully decorated exactly as pictured . We were a family of 5 ( 2 adults and 3 grown teenagers 16,17 and 19 ) so the house next door would be our preferred stay moving forward. The barn was a bit of a squeeze for 5 grown people. Karla was exceptional and the place was beautiful.we appreciated the location whilst visiting family .

Loved staying on the unique property in quite Duleek. Definitely nice to not be in the hustle and bustle of the city. So close to a great restaurant called Tribe. Town was extremely walkable. Only about a 30min drive from the airport. We had a great stay! Definitely recommend.

Great Location

Connell's Barn was a great central location for our outings around the Dublin area. We travelled into Dublin one day, visited Newgrange, Trim Castle and Hill of Tara another day, and then Connamara National Park another. Each day we were able to come back to a home base that was clean and comfortable with places to eat within wasling distance. The patio outside was a great spot to start the day and have a cup of tea while the family was waking up. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

Ideal location for roaming outside Dublin

Connell’s Barn is a very pleasant and clean property with plenty of room for a traveling couple. The location in Duleek is ideal for visiting Newgrange and other sites, and near enough to the motorway for longer trips. The host was helpful throughout the process. Highly recommended.

I'm a furniture designer and have a passion for cleverly designed and beautifully made furniture and objects. I hope this passion comes across in Connell's House and Barn, which was lovingly restored between 2014-2016. As well as designing furniture I also have a very keen interest in Irish vernacular architecture, hence why I restored this derelict thatched cottage, which has been a life long dream!

I'm a keen cook and love nothing more than cooking for my three young boys, lovely husband and extended family. I love gardening too, especially growing vegetables and herbs.

I'll always be on hand to assist guests and answer any queries. I'm very house proud, so the House & Barn will be squeaky clean when you arrive!

Connell's House & Barn dates back to 1690 and was in existence during the famous 'Battle of Boyne'. I really hope guests enjoy staying in the oldest home in Duleek village and exploring the 'Boyne Valley' and 'Ireland's Ancient East'.
