Full Description:

A perfect place for travelers new and old to Montreal. I recently purchased this house for use as a second/summer home, but would love for others to experience Montreal at an inviting place when I'm not there. Before the purchase, the home was featured on the Canadian version of HGTV's 'Buy This House,' which showcases properties that have been updated or restored to upscale or historical standards.

I have tried to think of everything. It is not some cheap rental where the furniture wobbles and the furnishings are sparse.

This is 1280 sq ft of home, where you can stretch out and relax after a day of exploring the city, read a book in the separate office off the living room, cook a meal in the full-kitchen, enjoy sleeping on a king-size bed or entertain guests in the huge dining room area.

It's a home located in such a vibrant area of the Plateau, close to everything. I've rented from others while visiting Montreal for years and, hopefully, learned from others what to do AND what not to do. If you want to travel well and not worry about the little things, then consider this home.

I'm sorry I did not have a great wide-angle lens to make the property look as nice as it is. I've had many parties rent from me and almost every one of them has emailed or called to tell me what a wonderful time they had staying here.

The amenities that separate this home from others are:

--king size bed, walk-in closet, tv and dvd, dresser, night stands in the master bedroom

--queen bed in second bedroom

--full kitchen and large dining room that seats 8

--living room with attached office/library

--46' lcd tv with cable

--computer for surfing the internet

--wi-fi access

--sofa with pull-out double bed

--washer/dryer

--shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, soap

It's a great place. It's close to everything the city has to offer. You will definitely not be disappointed.

About The Owner

My brother and I own this lovely apartment. We grew up in Calgary and did our graduate studies in Montreal. We both loved the city, architecture, culinary master pieces, and carefree lifestyle of the city. A European flare in Canada. When we finished our studies we always knew that we would return to Montreal so we bought an apartment that felt like our home away from home. An apartment that was located central to the life that is Montreal.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2011

Why The Owner chose Montreal

The apartment is centrally located to everything. The festivals, boutiques shopping, restaurants upon restaurants, parks, McGill University, metro stations and bus lines, bixi bikes (a bike system within the city), and a quick stop or walk to Old Montreal.

We have a genuine bakery right near our apartment. I consider their croissants to be on of the best I have had. Open markets, coffee shops and terraces are everywhere. The apartment makes you feel like you are immersed in the Montreal lifestyle.

These are some of the reasons we chose this apartment. That and the beautiful exposed brick, crown moldings, and old cast iron heaters.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great location, beautiful apartment. Clean place. Good communication with host. No complaints. Felt like we were living in the plateau. Close to St Laurent and St Denis. Multiple bixi stops nearby. Would absolutely recommend to friends.

Felt like home.

  • 5 of 5

Our 3 night stay was so nice! The house was everything that I imagined. Pictures and previous reviews are right on. The home is cozy, very clean, well-stocked with kitchen utensils etc.and quite spacious, and walking distance to shops and restaurants. I am so glad to have found this spot! Had a problem with tv cable service and the owners were quick to respond to address the problem. Per other reviews, the front stairs are a steep climb and would not be suitable for some.

Wonderful light filled space. Plenty of room for a family. The master bed was very comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

This residence was in a perfect location. It is very close to the Metro and within easy walking distance to restaurants. I agree with other reviews that you need to be prepared for the steep stairs to the entry. Some work needs to be done to take care of wires in the master closet entry. The kitchen is very well equipped and the dining space is perfect. I would definitely recommend the home and the owners were responsive and friendly.

Beautiful Plateau apartment

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this apartment, and I am sure we will be back - it truly feels like our Montreal home. Impeccably clean, spacious, impressively well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, and plenty of room to entertain guests (we prepared a home-cooked dinner for our McGill student child and four friends, and lacked for nothing whatsoever). We love the location on a quiet street mere steps away from St. Laurent, a reasonable walk from le Vieux Port, Mile End, McGill, the Mount, and downtown. Amazing sweets at Sophie Sucree, just a few blocks away. The lockbox requires some fiddling to get the key out when you first arrive (and to put back when you leave), but that's our only tiny quibble. Great property!

Lovely appartment, great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property for four nights and found it very comfortable, spacious, clean and well appointed. As described in the information. Having been to Montreal before we were looking for a relaxing and quiet base so we could visit other parts of the city we didn't manage to see last time, it was ideal for this. It was also close to good transport links. The steps up to the flat are steep as mentioned by others so not ideal if you have mobility issues. One thing I missed was a mirror in the bedroom, had to keep dashing to the bathroom! We would definitely stay here again should we return. Perfect stay thank you.

Great place in great location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent labor day weekend in this great home on the Plateau. We especially enjoyed the beautiful neighborhood and the proximity to the Mont Royal trails. The stairs getting in and out are steep, so don't stay here if you have any mobility issues. The home was as described in the ad and we would definitely stay here again.
