The Old School Cottage (Ship Farm) - 1 Bedroom - Rhossili

This quaint property is located right on the Gower coastal path and ideally located for visiting the award winning Rhossili bay! The Old School has been tastefully converted and is situated on a working farm within walking distance to all three of Rhossili’s bays. The cottage is on two levels and sleeps 2/3. It has a double room upstairs with built in wardrobes and drawers a sofa bed in the living room. All bed linen is provided.

The kitchen/diner is fully fitted and contains a washing machine, fridge-freezer, microwave, electric oven/hob, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. The floors are finished in natural stone.

The lounge has a sofa bed and occasional furniture. There is a tv with Freeview and a CD/DVD player. The cottage benefits from oil fired central heating throughout but also has a log burner.

The bathroom contains a shower cubicle and basin with a separate toilet downstairs which has an electric shaver point over the basin. Towels for use in the cottage are provided.

Cot and high chairs are available if required.

There is also a patio area with table and chairs for those who enjoy alfresco dining.

The closest beach is 5-10 minutes walk. The nearest restaurant/licensed premises is also 10 minutes walk. The nearest shop is only a short car journey away.

For a family gathering or friends reunion, combine the Old School cottage and Fferm Llong cottage to sleep up to 9 – ideal for summer holidays, Christmas or New Year.

Wonderful stay

We had the most wonderful stay at the cottage. The lovely touches of being welcomed with fresh eggs, biscuit and local coffee, wonderful location in walking distance to the cost and sweet little home with everything you need.Thank You and we hope to be back one day.

Rhossili beach

This was a brilliantly located property for the beautiful land and seascape around. A very cosy cottage, perfect for two. We appreciated and enjoyed the eggs and Welsh cakes. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Highly recommended

We had an excellent time at the Old School Cottage. The house is well furnished and equipped with everything you could need, and the location is excellent. Fall Bay and Mewslade Bay beaches are only a 10–15 minute walk away, and there is a bus stop outside the house with buses running every hour (except on Sundays), so you can easily explore the many footpaths across Gower, as well as the scenic coastal path. The hosts were very welcoming, and we were delighted to find a selection of fine local produce waiting for us on arrival!

No return for us

Although a little lovely cottage, close to the sea, found most local pubs all had different eating times or the kitchen was closed, so ended up with sandwiches back at home, lanes were flooded giving even more problem to access, I just think it was the wrong season February to go, i am sure it is lovely and the places serve food in the spring/summer. I do not agree for a 3 night stay of not being able to access the property until 4pm and have to leave at 10 this cuts out a whole day from a 5 hour drive. So would not book again. Plan it carefully.

Hi Sally, thanks for your review, 4pm check in and 10am check out is pretty standard accross the board, we do accomodate early check in on request were available depending on how busy we are. Unfortunatly as you mentioned the roads are not fantastic if traveling when very heavy rain, but that is outside of our control as is the opening times of local eateries. I am glad you enjoyed the cottage itself, if travelling in the summer Rhossili bay is award winning and is a beautifl part of the world, i am sure a summer experience would have proven a very different experience for you.
