An ideal place to base yourselves, whether you're seeking to relax in peaceful and beautiful surroundings or desire a fun-packed activity holiday, which could include exploring the vast and varied wild beauty of North West Sutherland's landscape; hill walking, sea and fresh water fishing, golf, ornithology, sailing, stalking, climbing or just lazing on secluded white sandy beaches.
Return to the warmth of this cosy cottage with every amenity.
Bedroom 1 Kingsize.
Nextdoor is a bathroom with bath and toilet.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds and luxury en-suite shower room. Room also has a desk.
Open plan lounge/kitchen with full height windows overlooking the Kyle. Cosy wood burning stove plus underfloor heating throughout, WiFi, television, DVD player and ipod/iphone dock. Fully equipped modern kitchen with integral oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Linen and towels are provided and changed weekly. The cottage has private parking outside the cottage.
On the paved area outside there is a picnic table plus a a large umbrella.
Up to two dogs allowed in this cottage. @ £30.00 per dog.The paved garden is not fenced over the entrance.

Lovely cottage with spectacular views. Very well equipped , we had everything we could need. All rooms were spotless and cosy. Plenty private parking space and room for the dogs to wander outside. Excellent wifi and freeview tv. Only issue i would say we had was the noise from extractor fan in the bathroom which was very loud when trying to relax in the bath. Definitely worth a stay if you are in the area.

Fabulous property in an amazing location. Cottage had everything you could need and very well laid out. Owners were excellent and really helpful, particularly when our ferry to Orkney was cancelled. The view is incredible, in all weather. In better weather an otter can be seen close to the cottage either in the water or at the shoreline. Loads of beaches and walks within easy distance. Faraid head was a highlight. Hope to return.

Had the most wonderful stay at Shore Cottage, stunning cosy wee place, clean & tidy & had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable! This place is amazing ,the views the atmosphere .The people looking after the cottage Lynn and Bob couldnt be more helpful..they go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect ..we came here to re charge after health issues and I couldnt imagine being anywhere else to re coup..this stay was our second visit and certainly won't be our last ...love everything about our stay ..the owner Gillie is such a lovely lady friendly ,helpful and grows the most yummy rhubarb to which I ate plenty the only niggle I had was not able to transfer my accounts to watch Netflix or Disney to the tv on a night ( im an insomniac) ...I will say that considering the area we where the wifi is the very best that we have had in Scotland..Sitting on the sofa or out on the bench just watching the tides the sands the water change ... the clouds the mountains change before your eyes is something everyone should experience at least once ... if you want to experience never ending beauty this place is it ... this place is our new happy place , a huge thank you from kath and I to Lynn bob and gillie for making our stay the very best

Sorry about the Netflix connection not working. We will look into that. Days trips from Shore are a lovely option, the drive down to Ullapool is such a picturesque drive. Fabulous cottage, with an amazing vista of the Kyle and ample parking. So peaceful and relaxing, yet within easy reach of other beautiful, beaches, bays and places of interest. Durness itself has a well stocked shop and 24 hour fuel if required. Cape wrath, Smoo cave and cocoa mountain are all just minutes away.

Shore Cottage is a fantastic place to stay. The cottage is very clean and well equipped. The location is a real bonus as you can walk around the coastline from the door and watching the ever changing view out the front of the property is mesmerising whatever the weather. We have already booked to return.

Super location and accommodation. Very clean with great showers and very comfortable beds. Beautiful views of the sea and hills. Highly recommended.

The most beautiful location in northern Scotland! That’s what a local tour guide said to us of Shore Cottage’s location and he was absolutely correct. A wonderful place with views that make your heart ache and sing! All home comforts in the cottage and a good location for local amenities and touring the north of Scotland. We loved our stay and were sad to leave the view behind!

Rest easy

Rest east in a modern comfortable clean property with outstanding location and views over the bay. Easy vehicle access to local store and all the amenities of Durness. Plenty of walks and places to visit, wild swimming from gorgeous beaches.

Fabulous location.

Another excellent week at one of the most beautifully located cottages in the north-west of Scotland. The weather didn't always play ball, but the light was amazing and ever-changing. Great walks to be had in the area, and amazing wildlife. On this trip we saw an otter in front of the cottage four times during the week. Back next year........

Wonderfull time

My wife an I had a wonderfull time in the shore cottage. It's a beautiful location. We made many walks in the greatfull nature in Durness, the Highlands and at the westcoast.

My husband David and I have been coming up to Durness for over 44 years so know the area pretty well. David's great grandfather came up here at the turn of the century to help break in the ground for sheep farming.
Balnakiel Farm was one of the original family farms. It has now been split into two and David now runs Rhigolter Farm. We live in Essex as he works as a Hand Surgeon in Southend.
Our two children have been coming up here each year and now bring our grandchildren who love it up here.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

This cottage was a tumbledown shed for years on the roadside. Our friends Bernard and Irene Hendy bought the Cape Wrath Hotel in 2006. It was with great excitement we watched as they converted the Lodge into a magnificent house and Shore Cottage was rebuilt into this wonderful little oasis it is today. We are delighted to become the new owners.

この宿泊施設の特徴

As Shore and Kyleview Cottages come under the umbrella of Cape Wrath Lodge there is a resident housekeeper who lives in the Annexe flat at the rear of the Lodge. Her name is Marta and can easily be contacted with any problems or requests. Being so close to the shoreline otters can be seen playing in the evenings out of the huge windows. The ever changing tide constantly brings magnificent views and birdlife.
