Great location, lovely home, well stocked. Store is close by, just check the "Book". Train ride although short was very informative. We have been up to Cripple Creek many times, (we have a friend that works there).Defiantly want to rent this home again.

Great place to stay in Cripple Creek

Everything worked well and fit our needs. Close to everything to do in Cripple Creek. Great information and instructions. Enjoyed grilling out and the instrctions told us where to find the local grocey store. Thanks!

Vacation times in Cripple Creek

Spending a week with family, was so much fun. Even had a day of snow. Home was perfect, so cozy and all comforts of home. Would definitely stay again. Communication was great with our host. Hated to leave.

Always wonderful

We have stayed at Family Mountain Retreat several times in the past few years and it has always been wonderful. It is a family tradition to go to the Butte Theater every fall and Kari's home is our favorite place to stay. It is close to Cripple Creek' s main road and it is so peaceful and quiet. We always have a wonderful time. Thanks so much for your hospitality Kari!!

We very much enjoyed Cripple Creek and found that there was much to do with a nice variety of shops, restaurants and casinos. The shop proprietors were very friendly and helpful. We found the home to be comfortable and met all of our needs. We would consider staying again at this property as it was clean and well-maintained.

Cute Home in Cripple Creek

The place was the perfect place for a couple of friends to stay. Each couple had their room and bathroom. The place was super clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, including coffee in the morning. We loved the proximity to Golden Nugget, which was within walking distance, and spent most of our time. The weather was in the 50s too cold for us Californians to walk to the downtown area or the other casinos, so we drove there. We enjoyed the restaurant in the Double Eagle Casino, which we ate a few times for dinner. I would highly recommend this place away from home when visiting Cripple Creek!

Worth every penny

We were delighted to enter and find a small decorated Christmas tree and a strand of lights going up the stairway rail to set the tone for our Christmas stay. Spotless. Roomy. Peaceful. Plentry of recliners. Very homey. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-supplied. Quiet neighborhood with quick access to all attractions including the ice castles. Communications with our hostess were immediate and friendly. Thank you so much, Kari, for sharing your beautiful home with our family where we were able to hold our sweet baby granddaughter for the first time!

Cripple Creek

My family enjoyed our stay in Cripple Creek. We love being in small towns and enjoy seeing the beautiful country. We visited Pikes Peak, Manitou Cave Dwelling, Outlaw and Jail Museum, and drive the backroads. Saw lots of wildlife. The manager was wonderful, easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again if we come to this area.

New construction and clean with historical looks

Had a nice 1 night stay. The owner was very good to deal with. Booked it while eating supper in Canon City on our way there and got a quick confirmation during our night drive in five inches of snow. Wasn't able to read the email until we were on the porch looking for the door unlock code. Then realized that in the process of switching from trivago to set up an account in vrbo, something defaulted our arrival date from that day to a week later. Immediately called the owner close to 10 PM who gave us the code. Luckily it wasn't already rented that night but unluckily for us it was the next night. Owner was very good in working with us and we found a pet friendly casino motel a couple blocks away. Totally my fault in making the booking. She said it had a new heater and carpet installed the day before. Took our shoes off at the door to keep snow off the new carpet. I chose this place because of the king and queen size beds in it and about all the others in town only had full size beds which are miserable for 2 people to sleep in. It is close to the gold king casino where Joe's diner has great and cheap food. Even came out money ahead in the casino which was a surprise. Definitely would stay at this vrbo again. This had been a last minute planned trip starting in Colorado springs just seeing the sights with all motel bookings made on the fly. Decided to drive to cripple creek in the dark in the snow on phantom creek road, about a 2 hour drive, instead of staying in canon city. Our son in law and daughter were home on leave before transferring to Hawaii which is what prompted the trip. My wife has ancestors who were miners that lived and mined there. Been researching their claims and will be back. Thanks

Wonderful!!

We had a wonderful time. The house was great, just far enough from town to be very peaceful; yet, close enough to walk to the town. The yard was fenced in which was a big plus for our dog. The house is well insulated, you would never know there was anyone in the adjoining home. We had a great time in Cripple Creek and it was so wonderful to be able to return to the peace and quiet of the house and not be staying in one of the hotels

Excellent Rental

I rented this location for a weekend in Cripple Creek with my mom, godparents, boyfriend and our small dog and it was perfect. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms so we all had privacy. The neighborhood was quiet and we saw a lot of wildlife throughout the day. It rained pretty hard one day while we were there but we played games and relaxed. The owner was very responsive in text and great to work with. I highly recommend this home.
