Cozy well maintained home perfect for a family Christmas get away

  • 5 of 5

Next time we will pack fishing poles. Fishermen across the river from us pulled out one rainbow trout after the next! Peaceful, relaxing, beautiful stretch of river that’s just about deserted in the winter.

Charming Riverfront Home

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home! Was great to get out of town and enjoy the river. This house is in a quiet area, set apart from River Road by a neat bridge crossing. Beds were comfortable and having WIFI and cable was great, but we spent most of our time outdoors on the deck areas and enjoying the water. The home was clean and stocked with everything we expected. Aaron with the management company had some excellent restaurant recommendations and other fun points of interest in the area. Thanks to all for a nice stay.

Nice, peaceful getaway vacation home

  • 4 of 5

The house was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. The porch, where we spent the majority of our time, was nice and shady, with a beautiful view of the river. It was full of cobwebs and dust, though, and could use a good pressure wash. The path to the river was very navigable. The yard was landscaped and in great order. The decking is not ideal for small children, but older children and adults would have no problem. Overall, it is a great location for a vacation.

Owner's Response: We're very glad you enjoyed your stay. The home really is clean, comfortable, and on a beautiful area of the river as mentioned. We are in the process of washing the back patios to have them in great condition again. Hope you get to come back soon!

For the price, could use a little updating but very comfortable. We enjoyed the property, floating on the river, nice outside area.

Great little home!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Ponderosa Paradise. The house was just perfect for the 4 of us. The river was not flowing but that was okay with us as we just floated in the back yard. I made some friends with the local wildlife, we named the goose Gertie and she had a few friends with her. They love cheerios. We rented a boat at Cranes Mill Marina on Canyon Lake (about 20-minute drive from the house) and had a great time. Shopped in Greune, ate at Pat's Place in NB and went to the German bakery in NB.

The house is nicely decorated, the kitchen was well stocked for cooking, towels were nice, beds were comfy. Cable, TV's and the internet were a plus! We ran out of trash bags, I called Sky Run and they came over with a box for us. :)

The only complaints that I have are, the floors were not clean and you could not walk barefoot, there was not a hair dryer and the deck could have been cleaner. Also, the first aid kit needs some peroxide ( I cut my foot getting out of the river).

If you are looking for quiet, this may not be the property for you as River Road is directly across the river and the traffic noise may bother you. We were there in Sept. so the traffic was not bad but I can not imagine what it would be like during peak season on the Guadalupe.

***note to owner: There are several water spots on the ceiling where it looks like you have a roof leak. We pointed several out to Sky Run while they were there.
