Great Views, Great Location, modern & cozy Apartment (renovated 2022)

Set in the world famous Bernese Oberland, Grindelwald is the base for some of Europe's best walking trails and has become something of a hiking Mecca over the years. During the winter months with over 260 kms of slopes in the Jungfrau region you are spoilt for choice.
The chalet is perfectly located in a very quiet private road just a 5-7 minutes walk from the railway station (Grindelwald Dorf) and the village center and the gondolas.

The apartment Shreckhorn with 86 m2 living area for (4-5 people) and 3.5 rooms (2 bedrooms) is located on the first floor. It's spacious and has a large south facing balcony
with uninterrupted views of the Eiger North Face and the surrounding mountain world.

With modern furniture, fully equipped kitchen, internet (WiFi), SAT TV and a covered parking space in front of the chalet.

Included in the rate: cleaning at the end of your stay, linen, towels, kitchen towels, Internet, carport and side costs (heating, power, water). The only additional costs are the local tourist taxes.

This place was the best place we could have stayed in Grindelwald! The views were awesome, the supplied amenities were great, and having a parking spot was a good addition too. We had everything we needed to make all of our meals while there and the walk to the COOP supermarket took about 7 minutes. If you don’t have a car, the hill can be a little bit steep to the bus or train station but definitely doable with luggage. The balcony was the perfect place to unwind at night after a full day of exploring. There were patio chairs provided. Will definitely be staying here whenever we can afford to visit Grindelwald again!

We could not be happier with everything the property has to offer! The view from the balcony is absolutely stunning and the apartment itself was very clean and tidy. All the dishes, utensils and pots were in a great condition so we were able to easily make ourselves a few meals right at "home"(it really felt like our home). The location of the property was also ideal. Just a quick 78mins will take you to the supermarket (COOP) and the train station as well as bus stop. There's a bit of uphill walk but we didn't mind at all, the neighborhood the apartment is located at makes up for it. It's conveniently located if you want to explore the Jungfra region ( the summit, various activities at First Mt., glacier canyon, hiking in various famous trails, and visiting other side of the town).There was one rainy day during our stay but yet we thoroughly enjoyed the day just by walking around the neighborhood (stopping by cute coffee/crepe cafes) and lounging in the balcony in the afternoon while absorbing the postcard like view. All in one, the apartment is simply amazing and if we ever have a chance to come back to the area, we would definitely stay here again!Christina and Paul, once again, thank you for sharing your beautiful place!

The apartment in Grindelwald at the Jasmine Apartments was just right for our family. The location is easily accessible to the centre of Grindelwald yet still feels tucked away and private with amazing views. The apartment is clean and updated with all the amenities. I would come back again and hope I get to!

View From Above

Stayed at this property for 5 nights. As everyone says, the view from the balcony is the reason to choose this 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment. So great to start your day sipping coffee and looking out on the Grindelwald Valley. Waterfalls appear following a rain! Well stocked kitchen made cooking easy. Take advantage of the bus stop just down the street to avoid the hike up the hill to the Main Street and train terminal in Grindelwald. Christine made the process so easy and simple. Great property for a couple or small family.

We stayed here as our base for hiking in the area. The home is very comfortable with everything you need to cook. Walking distance to lifts, trains, grocery store and town services/restaurants. Amazing view from balcony. When some showers broke out the mountainside filled with many waterfalls.

We Will Be Back

Our family had an unforgettable stay at the Schreckhorn unit, thanks in large part to the wonderful accommodations and exceptional hospitality of our host, Christine. When we arrived, we were greeted by the breathtaking view of the Eiger from the balcony. We enjoyed the stunning sight every day in comfortable chairs and warm blankets. The Schreckhorn unit itself was cozy, inviting, and clean. The soft bedroom pillows were a bonus (according to our 20-yr-old)! The shared laundry room was well-maintained and user-friendly. The Wi-Fi was reliable and parking directly beneath the unit made our stay even smoother. We highly recommend visiting the nearby Eiger Bean coffee shop where the espresso drinks, are made with fresh local milk. You can sip and enjoy yet another spectacular mountain view. Glacier Restaurant has a great vibe and delicious food and cocktails. Don't miss Barry's fondue. We also enjoyed engaging with the kind and knowledgeable locals who offered thoughtful insights. Shopowners, in particular, shared recommendations on the most unique souvenirs to bring home and guided us toward the best menu items at local restaurants. This enriched our experience and made every interaction memorable. Our family’s Switzerland vacation was perfect. We were so glad to have chosen this place to stay.

Beautiful chalet

An ideal setting and base camp for exploration. Convenient to Grindelwald train station and a short (uphill) walk to downtown. Nestled in the mountains — every day we were struck by the views — with and without fog. The apartment had everything we needed. Laundry access was a bonus!

Ski holiday in Grindelwald

We had a fantastic time in Grindelwald staying at Apartment Schreckhorn. The apartment is in a great location and it is easy to access ski lifts and the centre of Grindelwald. The unit is well equipped and comfortable. Check in and check out were seamless. The views are fantastic from the balcony and add to th experience.

Erneut wunderschöner Urlaub in toller Wohnung

Wir waren das 2. Jahr in Folge in dieser wunderbaren Wohnung mit tollem Blick auf den Eiger. Christine und Paul geben einem wirklich das Gefühl herzlich willkommen zu sein. Das zeigt sich vor allem in vielen Kleinigkeiten, welche in der Wohnung vorhanden sind: Neben Fondue- und Raclette- Set gibt es viele Kochzutaten, Kaffee und Tee. Die Bushaltestelle zu den Gondeln ist fast direkt vor dem Haus. Nur zu empfehlen!

Comfortable, efficient and absolute stunning views

Very comfortable, well-appointed and amazing views with and without clouds. Wonderful communication with owners who provided very useful information. Walk from the train station is relatively steep, so if you have any mobility issues I would recommend a taxi. We had a wonderful time with a spectrum of weather (rain, clouds and sunshine) Will definitely rent again should we be so lucky to be in the area

Excellent stay.

This apartment was excellent for our two week stay in late September. The wide living room/dining room windows look directly at the Eiger and a broad vista of alpine landscape. The large wide balcony is very inviting. We found this property spotlessly clean and extensively well appointed. Private covered parking is a real plus in Grindelwald. A short uphill walk from the apartment takes one to the center of downtown Grindelwald. Access to train and cable lifts are all within easy walking distance. We found this apartment was well described in the Vrbo listing. The hosts were very responsive.

We loved our stay in the Schreckhorn appartement . The views from the balcony, living room and kitchen were stunning.Very easy access to several gondolas making our hiking experience memorable. We really appreciated the discounts for several activities being a guest visitor at this property. Grindelwald has everything you need should you have forgotten anything. 2 Grocery stores 5 minutes walk from property . Parking space was great Overall:.Safe, secure and beautiful. Must not forget to thank hosts as they always answered us quickly if we had any questions.

Grindelwald Delight

Very clean, modern, well-equiped and comfortable apartment in a great central location. It was my son's first visit to Switzerland and he was absolutely amazed by the views from the balcony - WOW! Wonderful home with spectacular views

My family loved staying at this home. The home had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious and the deck was a perfect place to sit back and look at the Eiger. The location was perfect for getting to the train, buses and walking into town. Christine was helpful and prompt to respond to any questions and left a very thorough guest book. Great view & location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well located apartment. The views were phenomenal, and we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace each morning. It’s convenient to the train and bus station, just be ready for a very steep walk (good practice for all the magnificent hiking nearby). Luckily there is also a closer bus stop, which was great as well to all the connecting gondolas, etc. Plenty of space for a family of 4.

We are living in the northern part of Switzerland. Before we bought this apartment we often spent our winter holidays in Grindelwald. We love very much skiing and sledding. Also hiking in summer is marvelous. You are close to a lot of attractions in and around Grindelwald in Berner Oberland. Also close to Interlaken with 2 lakes.
When we got the opportunity to buy this wonderful apartment 'Schreckhorn' in the Chalet JASMINE we didn't hesitate.

We are the owners since July 2013

Very wide and sunny balcony overlooking the ski area 'Kleine Scheidegg & Männlichen' and an incredible view to the Eiger North Face. The apartment is very bright (window front) and spacious.

Very good location. Close to the ski bus stop (100 m) to all skiing and hiking areas: Firstbahn, Terminal with gondolas to Männlichen and Eiger Express (Top of Europe) or Grund railway station for the train to Kleine Scheidegg.
5-7 minutes walk to the railway station or the center of Grindelwald for shopping, dining or relaxing in one of the beautiful Restaurants and Bars.
