So sorry the property had not been cleaned ready for your arrival. This was a very last minute booking and unfortunately housekeeping had not checked the system that morning. We did however respond immediately and the property was cleaned and ready within a couple of hours. At the time you did not say this was an issue and offered to go out while it was cleaned. We of course refunded the hot tub fee as we did not consider it fair you pay for the first night when it was not heated. As gesture of good will, we have also offered a free night accommodation should you wish to visit again. We're glad you enjoyed the lovely location and thank you for pointing out the maintenance issue to which we will attend.

Neither Vrbo’ s site or ours show pictures of "the rear of a property with large garden". Images show the garden as it is, nice, secluded and of a moderate size. The path is over 3' wide so not sure why you found this narrow. As stated on our website, the garden is accessed via steps so may not be suitable for elderly dogs. Many guests stay with dogs of all size and find the gardens more than adequate since there are miles of walks from our doorstep. If you required a large garden so you did not need to walk, why book this cottage? We suspect you relied on google images taken 13 years ago, before the cottage was built! Only Google have control over updates so please check photos from the owner when booking. We trust guests to wash up on departure, if this was not to your satisfaction our housekeeper would have run them through the dishwasher had you mentioned it. The only damaged utensil was a saucepan lid which had clearly been dropped. This was not evident prior to your stay but is too trivial a matter for us to care who did it, you have not been charged! Sorry you left early due to your dog being unwell, but we feel your negativity is at least in part due to you losing 2 days of your holiday. Nonetheless we are disappointed you feel we deserve a one-star rating because you failed to check details of the cottage you booked. Future guests will look at our five-star reviews and see your comments for what they are; a get back at us for your mistake!
