Villas-PraiaGrande are 3 modern houses located at 1km from Praia Grande, Sintra. All Villas are ideal to relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches of Sintra, or for the people who prefers to make a journey by the nature of mountains of Sintra and its Palaces & Castles (World Heritage – UNESCO).
Each chalet has 1 bedroom properly equipped, with a double bed. The living room has a sofa – bed and TV cable, and it’s open where you can get an excellent view. The dining room it’s shared with the kitchen. Toilets with shower. Kitchen is fully equipped matching to your requirements, and there’s also a BBQ area available where you can prepare/order your meals. Outside the chalet you have a large terrace, specially prepared for your breakfast by the morning watching the sun rising from the Mountains. Free Wi-fi Internet is available.
If you appreciate, you will enjoy the great Portuguese food and its own specialities, visiting the villages around (1km away) with great restaurants and shops.

For your daily requirements you have a small town village (Almoçageme) 1km away from Villas, where you can buy fruit and vegetables, fish and seafood, meat and other facilities (pharmacy, grocery, restaurants, etc) that you may need during your stay;

Beyond Almoçageme, you have others villages (Praia das Maçãs, Mucifal, Colares) 5min away (by car) with the same facilities. In Praia das Maçãs you will find the best seafood restaurants in the area and also some bars-pubs and discos.

Local beaches: numerous beaches you can find in Sintra and Cascais; Beach - Praia Grande (1km away; famous for its dinosaur’s footprints or world championship of body-board surf); Beach - Praia da Adraga (2min by car; considered the 3rd most beautiful beach in Europe, 2003; “The Sunday Times”); Beach - Praia das Maçãs (ideal for family) or Azenhas do Mar (with a natural salt water pool), among others places;

Sport Activities (5 to 10 min from Villas) like: Surf, Tennis, Golf, Wind surf, Football.

Sintra-historical centre (15min from Villas): where you can take a horse-drawn car for a visit by its places like Palaces, Castle, Beautiful gardens;

Cascais - Estoril (20min from Villas): fashionable, rich in sights and attractions; brand new marina; casino; historical forts, churces and small palaces;

Amazing stay

Awesome location, very close to multiple beaches. Owners are near the property and easy to contact. They even had suggestions of restaurants and beaches to visit. We had a great stay!

Magnífica estancia en Portugal

Hemos estado una semana en esta villa y todo ha sido fantástico. La Casa es muy acogedora y tiene todo lo que necesitas. Pedro y Luisa son muy amables y te proporcionan la información que les solicites sobre qué visitar y dónde comer. Todos los días te dejan el pan en la puerta ;) La casa está muy bien situada y la Zona es muy tranquila. Bonitas playas cercanas y cuenta también con piscina.

Wonderful family holiday!

The villa was ideal for our family holiday and we all have memories to treasure. We were really well looked after by Pedro and his family who were so welcoming and helpful. The wooden villa itself is fully equipped, modern, comfortable and really felt secluded so we were able to enjoy the evenings relaxing on the patio or lying in the hammock. The location of the villa is perfect and in what feels to be a really authentic area of Portugal though we were able to explore despite not having a car. The nearest beach is Praia Grande about 15mins walk from the villa and down an impressive staircase! There are a number of great fresh fish restaurants along the beach front worth trying. From there you can also hike to Praia da Adraga (approx 25mins) where you are able to see the most spectacular views of the coastline. Sunset is simply majestic! My 6 year old loved it and is still talking about exploring the wilderness and dinosaur footprints! With both Sintra and Cascais also nearby and on a bus route we were not short of things to see and do and will certainly be back!

Si lo que buscas es un lugar bien situado, en un entorno tranquilo y rodeado de bellos paisajes este no te va a defraudar. Para ir con niños es ideal ya que tienen mucho sitio para que corran ademas de que en los alrededores hay playas para todos los gustos y tan solo a cinco minutos. A las cabañas no les falta de nada ademas de que el estado y la limpieza de las mismas es excelente . Como ya os he dicho esta muy bien comunicada bien para ver los magníficos palacios de la zona como para hacer excursiones a Lisboa, Estoril, Cascais, Sintra, etc. Y por último los propietarios con los que es facil tratar y que se portaron de maravilla con nosotros. Como única pega os diria que una semana se nos hizo muy corta.

Las fotos y las opiniones que leí en Homeaway fueron decisivas. Y he podido comprobar que además ciertas y merecidas. Pedro y su familia son un encanto. Espectaculares. Atentos y siempre dispuestos a ayudarte. El detalle del pan para los desayunos... no tiene precio. Las casas acogedoras y confortables. Limpias, con todo lo que uno necesita. El sitio muy, muy tranquilo. Y una maravilla. Las playas a 5 minutos. Sintra y todo lo que ofrece a un paseo. Y Guincho y Cabo da Roca igual. Mis hijos alucinaron al llegar y se fueron con ganas de más días. Así que en el próximo viaje... ya sé a dónde acudir. La recomendaré a todo amigo que viaje a la zona, y la recomiendo a todo el que lea este comentario.

Très agréable séjour chez Pédro et Louisa.

Nous gardons un très agréable souvenir de nos vacances chez Pédro et Louisa, très accueillants, toujours prêts à rendre service, répondre à nos demandes et passer du temps avec nous. Merci à Pédro pour la balade sur la falaise au coucher du soleil! La location est très agréable, sur un vaste jardin, très riche en botanique, l'espace autour de la piscine est entretenu avec soin et la possibilité d'utiliser le barbecue et sa terrasse couverte est un plus... C'est une adresse que je conseille vivement à mes amis... C'est un vrai petit paradis!! Situé à 10 min de la plage à pied et à l'écart de la route. Cet endroit est très calme...idéal pour des vacances reposantes.

Excellente location avec piscine qui réunit tous les paramètres pour des vacances réussies; Le logement est très charmant, confortable et parfaitement entretenu par Pedro et Luisa qui vous accueilleront avec beaucoup de chaleur et de discrétion . La situation géographique est idéale pour découvrir Lisbonne et ses environs .En bref, vous y passerez à coup sur de très bonnes vacances avec ou sans enfants. La cerise sur le gateau, pedro vous apportera le pain frais tous les matins le pain et pas de ménage à faire en fin de séjour! Allez y les yeux fermés!

Endroit sympathique comme les propriétaires

Nous avons séjourné durant 7 jours dans ce chalet en bois...il suffit pour 4 personnes, confortable et propre. La terrasse est idéale pour séjourner dehors et profiter d'une tranquillité réelle puisque les voisins ne sont pas visibles de la terrasse. La piscine est agréable et bien entretenue. Le tout couronné par un accueil super sympathique des propriétaires, à notre écoute, conseillant, apportant en plus le pain chaque matin... Séjour recommandé donc !!

Excellent place for a portugal holiday

After a week-long trip over the Europe, we’ve spent a very nice week in Colares, living in one of the Praia-Grande villas. We were here two years ago - and at that time the villas were practically new - all of the furnishing was comfortable and clean, kitchen was well equipped, there was a TV and wireless (avaliable only outside of villa). Every morning we got fresh bread from our hosts, what was very convenient. Villas are located in the corner of the large garden. The place is quiet, and there is a nice view on the surrounding hills of Sintra. Near the house of our hosts, there is a pool that can be freely used by the visitors of villas, and which we used with pleasure during the hot days. The location of villas gives a fairly easy access to Praia Grande beach (10 -15 minute walk), and few minutes of car drive, there is a nice market and a grocery, where you can buy good and fairly cheap food - if you feel like cooking something on your own. Last, but not least, i would like to write about the hospitality of Pedro and Luisa’s family. They were very friendly for us through all the time we were in Colares. They invited us for a delicious diner, and after that even drove us around to show us the neighborhood! Everyone who would like to visit Sintra probably knows what to see and where to go, but we can recommend visiting magical city of Sintra itself (especially in the evening), Monserrate and it’s gardens, or Cabo da Roca, (and of course the ocean :) Overall, i would definitely recommend Villas Praiagrande as a place for spending portugal holiday...

Holiday July 2011

We had a great holiday this summer. The apartment was good and clean. Every morning bread for breakfast brought by the host family. Pedro and the rest of the family were very friendly and offered a good hospitality. They even invited us for dinner and there stories about sights around were helpfull. There is also a possibility to have a barbeque. A nice and clean poolarea behind the apartments and the beach is even near by the apartment. The neighborhood offers enough to see and the palace on top of the mountain is very beautifull. Lisboa is close by and an nice city to spend a couple of days. A few beaches are around. one of the best weeks

We enjoyed a perfekt time at praia grande! The place was just too nice, 15 minutes to the beach, great waves and magnificent sunsets. Our hosts were the best you can imagine and we had verry much fun with them. I ate the best sea food ever and was just impressed by the country. Excellent! Have a nice time at Praia Grande! Ps: all the best to Sir Petro!

Si lo que buscas es un alojamiento acojedor, limpio y tranquilo.... es este. Nosotros estuvimos pasando una semana y se nos hizo corto. Los alrededores son espectaculares y la casa dispone de todos los servicios que necesitas para pasar unos dias de vacaciones. Nada que decir de los dueños... son personas magnificas, agradables y que hacen lo posible para que te encuentres como en casa. Muy recomendable.

Villas Praia Grande

Myself and my wife stayed in one of the cottages for 10 days in June 2011. We had never been to the Sintra area of Portugal before and found this delightful cottage through the internet. From the first day of our arrival Pedro and Louisa couldn't do more to make us feel more welcome and at home. A wonderful touch was the fresh bread delivered every morning by Pedro onto the cottage terrace for breakfast. The cottage was excellent - clean and modern - and was ideal for what we needed with the addition of the pool to cool off after a day sightseeing in the area. We really enjoyed our stay at the Villa Praia Grande. It is a great location, close to the sea and beaches and all of the local areas of interest in and around Sintra. It is also a short train ride away from Lisbon which is a wonderful city to visit. We can't emphasise more how welcoming Perdo and Louisa are and would throughly recommend this to anyone who hasn't been to this area of Portugal before. This is the real Portugal come and see it for yourself.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Villa Praia Grande. It has a great location to the ocean and many of the local site around Sintra. The Filipe family are excellent hosts, and very helpfull with planning your days in the local area. We would definately recommend Villa Praia to any travellers to the Sintra area!

A Magical Visit

We are an English couple, we stayed for 5 days in May. The Villa was very comfortable with a veranda for outdoor dining and a beautiful vista of the mountains and nearby Sintra. The beach was in walking distance or short drive. There are several beaches along the coast nearby worth a visit. The local village had good shops for groceries and places to have a coffee and beer and snails perhaps.. We enjoyed a meal in an excellent seafood restaurant near Praia Grande which was recommended by Pedro. Both Pedro, Louisa and their two children were more than welcoming and helpful during our stay, they made us feel at home. Their quinta has a pool which was refreshing on a hot day and their animals were a delight especially Vamp the dog and Gat the cat. We thank them for a fantastic holiday and hope to visit again.
