About the host
Your host
The owner is an antique dealer in London and the family spend a lot of time in the French house which is like a second home.
The house is comfortable with a good ambience but somewhat old-fashioned and lacking the most modern amenities, and therefore probably not suitable for families other than those with very laid back attitude and appreciation of tradition and atmosphere.
The house has internet connection (SFR) and wifi.

Why they chose this property
The property is one of only 5 houses in the hamlet of Fouscais, which originated as a Roman villa in the 3rd century AD , 200 years before the nearby town of Clermont L'Herault was founded. For those interested in history, the name Fouscais is a mediaeval corruption of Fons Cassius (Cassius's well or fountain), the house having belonged to Cassius Dio pro-consular governor of the province in the 3rd century..
What makes this property unique
The property has 6 bedrooms in the main house all with their own bathroom - and an old Orangerie next to the swimming pool which has been converted into a self contained twin bedroom with its own kitchenette and bathroom.
Entrance to the property is through the back gate with its own driveway connecting to the main road (Route de Nébian). and devolves into a large parking area. From there a pathway leads down to the main house.
The front door of the house leads on to the centre of the hamlet but by arrangement with our neighbours , parking is not allowed at the front of the house.
The English speaking guardians of the house are Fergus and Janice Abraham who live nearby in the village of Nébian. Fergus is usually available to sort out any problems and can be contacted on 00 334 67880534 (landline number)
