Begin each day with a refreshing dip in the cool water of the infinity-edged swimming pool, before unwinding on one of the ultra-comfortable sun loungers with a good book and the soothing sound of the gently lapping waves below. Slightly further afield, Nelson’s Dockyard National Park can be reached within forty-five minutes by car. One of five national parks in Antigua, this cultural treasure is located on the island’s southern coastline. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the eighteenth-century British naval dockyard is an area of great historical significance on the island, as well as a popular venue for maritime events and activities. For those who wish to experience the magic for themselves, there are plenty of sailing excursions and water-based activities available.

Antigua boasts a variety of fantastic trekking trails, situated around the island and taking in sandy beaches, lush rainforests, and dreamlike coastal views. For a challenging day out, put on your hiking shoes and visit Mount Obama, the highest peak in Antigua. From the summit, enjoy the panoramic vistas of the island, before descending to Cades Bay for a delightfully refreshing dip in the ocean.

Don’t forget to visit Shirley Heights, a restored military lookout known for its bewitching views and community feel.
