Overview

About the property

NEWLY REDUCED WINTER RATES!!!

This 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home sits right on Old Hickory Lake, and offers all the character of a cabin with upscale amenities. A deluxe interior with luxury appointments and tasteful furnishings has just a hint of rustic flair. While outside, you’ll enjoy a sprawling lakeside yard! Enjoy use of the dock at the edge of the property, which is located in some shallow water, approximately 2.5 feet deep. The dock is very suitable for shallow drafting watercraft, but not large V-Hull boats. A peddle boat is available for guests to take a turn around the lake.

Relax in sumptuous bedrooms and living spaces or in a hot tub under the stars. A hammock strung between two tall trees at the edge of the lake is the perfect place to catch your breath when you’re done exploring the area, and a stone patio with a propane grill lets you gather for moonlit meals. And that’s all before you even step foot off the property. Fill your days with trips to nearby scenic parks and historic sights or make the short trip into downtown Nashville for a cowboys-and-cocktails kind of night.

INSIDE THE HOUSE

Warm up around an enormous stone fireplace in a stylish and refined living room where two cream couches are arranged around a flat-screen TV. Here, French doors open onto the back deck and vast backyard, and afford views of the lake.

A designer kitchen features quartz countertops and a suite of stainless steel appliances. Adjacent, the upscale dining area, where tall windows overlook a pleasant streetscape, seats 6 around a quality wooden table under a chandelier - and includes seating for 2 more with barstools at the kitchen counter.

Two bedrooms, one with access to a private porch, feature king-sized beds set on an all-wooden frames. The third bedroom, with double full sized bunk beds and tall windows, provides cheery accommodations for close friends. Two full baths upstairs have tile flooring and spacious vanities while an added half-bath with adjacent laundry facilities provides extra convenience downstairs.

THE LOCATION

Just outside of Music City, this .53 acre sprawling lakefront property offers easy access to outdoor adventures and exciting dining and nightlife. Just outside your back door, the scenic Old Hickory Lake can be traversed by stand up paddleboard, canoe, kayak, jet ski or pontoon. Nearby, you can take a stroll down the wandering creekside trails or catch fireflies at Drakes Creek Park. Also, the Avondale Recreational Access Area has a free and public boat ramp, and is a brief 1/4 mile drive from the home.

Head to the Trinity Music Center, just 2.5 miles away, to wander past streams and waterfalls to the Memorial Gardens where Johnny Cash and June Carter have been laid to rest. Visit Conway Twitty’s Mansion or, if it’s the season, experience a mind-blowing display of Christmas cheer at the annual light show, before grabbing a savory steak at The Chop House or laidback Mediterranean cuisine at Café Rakka.

Enjoy great food and lively music at Anchor High Marina or take the 20-minute drive to downtown Nashville and Music Row – destinations that hardly need an introduction. Catch your favorite artists at honky tonk bars or five-star venues or learn more about the legends at the Country Music Hall of Fame. No trip to Nashville would be complete without a visit to the Grand Ole Opry and Opryland, which are only 25 minutes away.

Worthy of noting is that this Home has been in operation as a successful vacation rental since January of 2015 and received only 4 and 5 star reviews over 15 total reviews during the past 2 years (as seen in one of the photos). Previously under management by a management company, the owners have now taken over self management and were required to start a new listing profile and all former reviews were removed. The owners of this property live only 3 miles away and will personally address any issues quickly, but also will provide complete privacy if not called upon.

The home will sleep 8 comfortably, but keep in mind that is providing for 4 in the full sized bunk beds. The sofa in the living room is a pull out queen, so if bunking is a bit too cozy... 1 or 2 could overflow onto the pullout sofa.

About Todd & Diane Parker

In 2014, we were Southern Californians looking for a quiet place that we could retire to in 5-7 years. We explored much of Tennessee but once we got to Old Hickory lake, we fell in love with this area, our neighbors and their warm southern hospitality. We were thrilled to purchase this home yet unsure of whether to have a long term tenant or share it as a vacation rental. We ultimately decided on a vacation rental because we also wanted to be able to enjoy the home, the wildlife (we’ve had deer and turkey in the yard), the gorgeous views and the beautiful sunsets that you will soon enjoy. We love that we can spend the day on the lake, fish off the dock, take a nap in the hammock yet be in the city of Nashville in less than 30 minutes. We love the area so much that we decided to move to the area sooner than planned and keep this home as a vacation rental. We purchased another home on the lake just 4 miles from this one so we can be local to assist with anything our guests may need.

We hope you love your stay in the Nashville/Hendersonville area as much as we love living here.

Why Todd & Diane Parker chose Nashville

The Parker Lakehouse is in a peaceful, safe and friendly neighborhood right on the lake. The house has the last dock in our quiet cove. No big noisy boats going past to disrupt your relaxation.

What makes this house unique

Enjoy a BBQ and bonfire in a very large yard right on the lake! Sip coffee on a crisp spring morning from the gazebo while watching a Blue Heron fish off our dock or have fun with family and friends in a peddle boat or playing a game of Cornhole in the yard.

I want to book again!

  • 5 of 5

The moment I walked in I knew I was going to have a relaxing time. It was clean and neat. I didn’t need to spend time removing knickknacks to make it safe for my little ones. It was perfect. The beds were comfortable, the sheets and towels were high end. I felt like royalty. We enjoyed the paddle boat and hot tub. There were unique birds to see. We all had a great time!

Perfect for carefree, comfortable relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Our family met another family here for 4 nights. We had 5 adults and 3 kids total, and we enjoyed every part of our stay. The lake house is clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. To be honest, the weather was pretty bad (of course not the owners' fault), yet we still had an amazing time. We played the board games that were provided, stayed warm by a bonfire in the fire pit when the rain let up, and even enjoyed grilling dinner under umbrellas. Downtown Nashville was close enough that all 8 of us headed there for some indoor activities during the rain. The beds are comfortable, and we enjoyed all of the comforts of home. We cooked meals together and had all of the pans and utensils that we needed. We're looking forward to a return visit, maybe during the summer so we can get the most use out of the peddle boat and fishing spots, but as we said, even with bad weather, we had a great time and had everything we needed to stay entertained.

Great weekend get-a-way with the family!

  • 5 of 5

We had an enjoyable stay at your home. Thank you for the last minute rental. Painless arrival with the key less entry. It was well equipped for cooking over the weekend. Hot tub was a great addition for our kids. We liked the fact that you offered a fire pit and gazebo out back. Only suggestion I would offer would be another chair or two in the family room. We would definitely rent again when we have the chance. Thanks again!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review Melissa. We love to hear suggestions from our guests!! Since we are always looking to improve the comfort of our guests, we take them seriously. We have added a nice big comfy chair with ottoman which now sits by the fireplace. We'd love to have you back to enjoy it. Thank you again! Warm regards, Todd and Diane Parker
