Great House

Absolutely fantastic property with a very well appointed kitchen, comfortabl beds and plenty of room. Water pressure was a bit iffy resulting in the shower upstairs losing power if the shower downstairs was in use - but this was a minor issue. I've never commented on wallpaper before, but the huge OS map of The Lakes in the kitchen on the wall was simply stunning, and enabled us to plan our days well. THe map of London on the wall in one of the bedrooms was less useful, but just as lovely. It was great having a quooker in the kitchen for hot water - saved loads of time boiling the kettle. My only other slight criticism was that the pans, steamers and lids in the kitchen were not wholly compatible with each other! We'd defintely recommend Little Parrock and hope to return.

Stunning location, beautiful house

Little Parrock is located in a breathtaking location a short walk from Grasmere village. We were able to go on stunning walks directly from the house - Helm Crag, Easedale Tarn and beyond. The house itself has a fantastic kitchen/dining room - ideal for our families cooking and eating together. Very comfortable beds, excellent showers and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Grasmere itself has wonderful independent shops, bakeries and restaurants. Highly recommend.

An unmatched property

It is hard to critique Little Parrock. It is a beautiful property in a beautiful location. The kitchen and dining room are perfect for cooking and hosting, and the bedrooms/amenities are very comfortable and homely. The property is also surrounded by lots of lovely sheep, which is my favourite part. Close walk to Grasmere, which has lots of nice places to eat and independent shops. Cannot fault little Parrock.

Great place to stay with beautiful views

Eight of us had a lovely long weekend at Little Parrock. The location is fantastic in a quiet setting (although easy walking distance to Grasmere) with beautiful views. Good walking (and swimming) straight for the door without needing a car. The house was clean, with plenty of space and equipment for cooking, eating and relaxing (including barbecue and outdoor seating), which we made good use of. Great to have accommodation that you enter through the boot room (you get the kind of holidays we have ;)), though it could be improved by more coat pegs or a clothes airer to hang our gear from. The beds were comfortable and the showers / bath worked well (although first day we had not read the instructions that the hot water was on a timer, which didn't coincide with our shower times- we had it sorted for the rest of our stay). Notes to the caretakers - the waste pipe from the upstairs bathroom is corroded and leaking down the outside of the house-it didn't bother us but will need fixing. The bulb needs replacing in the light at the bottom of the stairs for safety reasons (we found a bulb, but no ladder to reach the light). Some of the curtains are missing hooks so they don't glide as they should. All minor points though that did not detract from a really fantastic stay. Thank you.

Little Patrick Review

I have stayed at Little Parrock in both the spring and the autumn and absolutely loved it at both times of year. The house is beautiful and spacious, impeccably clean and with the most comfortable beds. The house has breathtaking views of the fields and hills on all sides. It is quiet and peaceful and you are surrounded by nature. Our group did not have a car - we got the train up from London. We found that Little Parrock was ideal even for those without a car. There are great walks in all directions, and Grasmere village is a short walk away. We loved strolling into the village in the morning to buy groceries, books etc. We also walked to the pub and back in the evenings for some dinner. The open top bus from Grasmere to Ambleside also came in handy! After a long day out walking it was great to return to such a beautiful house for a hot bath, a drink by the fire, or curling up with a book. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Comfortable house in an idyllic location

This was a lovely house in a really beautiful location. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen and very comfortable lounge. Lovely garden; regrettably the wet weather meant we had limited opportunities to use it. Bedrooms were also comfortable in the main. The triple bed room was rather chilly and needed cleaning but the double bedrooms were comfortable and warm. Excellent downstairs shower. Upstairs shower a bit slow to drain so we made limited use of it. On arrival due to a mix up housekeeping had not been done. Thankfully Cumbrian Holidays were quick to send a cover cleaner but it did make for a somewhat stressful start to the holiday. Thanks are due to Leanne the cleaner who came to our rescue at short notice. It does suggest that better communication is needed between Cumbrian Holidays and the owner. WiFi was unreliable which caused stress to a couple of the party who had to deal with work issues during their holiday We noted that Grasmere now has full fibre broadband so think the property would benefit from an upgrade. We were disappointed by the lack of recycling as there did seem to be collection of recycling in the area. A few minor issues need fixing especially the difficult locks at the back of the house, tricky key safe and flickering light in hall. The property could do with a short programme of minor repairs. Overall however this is a lovely house in a beautiful location which we can recommend.
