Central Bowness - Hot Tub, Cinema Room and Lake Views

View From Within is a modern detached property situated in a secluded private area above the popular Lake District village of Bowness, which is just a five minute's walk away. The property is ideal for large groups or families looking to enjoy a luxury holiday, with facilities catered for those who wish to relax, boasting panoramic views of the surrounding hills and Lake Windermere and a large south-facing balcony perfect for sunbathing or al-fresco dining. We are pet friendly and downstairs you will find a newly built spa room with hot tub and pool table, as well as a private cinema room.

The house has 6 large bedrooms configured to accomodate up to 12 people. Each of the bedrooms comes with its own flat screen TV and en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet facilities with two of the bedrooms having a bathtub. View From Within has a fully equipped kitchen suitable for cooking large meals and a large dining room where everyone can gather to enjoy a lovely meal with a view.

From central Bowness you can hop on one of the famous Windermere Lake Cruise boats and take an evening cruise to Lakeside or Ambleside. Self-drive and rowing boats are also available to hire from Bowness Bay, or for those not too keen on water, take a bus and explore what the rest of the Lake District has to offer.

Bowness itself has a variety of great pubs, restaurants and bars to enjoy all in walking distance from the house. For guests who enjoy the outdoors or are in need of a good dog-walk, we recommend heading up Brantfell either in the morning to catch the sun rise over the east, or watch the sunset over Claife Heights to the west in the evening. Brantfell is a fairly short walk right from the doorstep but provides some of the best views of Lake Windermere and the rest of the Lake Disrict's famous mountains.

Great family stay

We stayed with a family of 11 for Christmas and it was a wonderful experience! The property was in a great location, right in the heart of Bowness but on a quiet road. The owners were super helpful and we’d definitely stay again! Thank you 😁

Fabulous property, great location, stunning views, very well equipped and spotlessly clean throughout. Located close to the town for an easy walk to all the local restaurants and bars but also easily accessible hill walks.

Friends weekend get away

We stayed 3 nights in Jan and had a great stay. 12 of us in total and still felt like we had loads of room. Everything you need for a comfort stay with some of the best views available across the lake. Will definitely return.

Perfect family retreat

We used the house for a family celebration, spanning three generations, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The location is a very short walk to all that Bowness has to offer, with some scenic hikes available too. The house is very well equipped, and provided of entertainment for everyone in our group.

Fantastic Stay

Visiting from Canada and spent time here with my family 12 of us in all. What an amazing place to stay for a few days in the lakes. House is incredible with amazing views from the huge deck and a great place to BBQ. Each room being ensuite is a huge plus and makes the stay so comfortable with the big group. Huge kitchen fantastically stocked and room for all 12 to fine together. Pool table and hot tub provides so much fun in the evenings. House is in an incredible location turn left at the end of the private road and you are into bowness in 5 mins and all that has to offer. Turn right and 5 mins you are on the dales way with so much to explore. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a stay in the lakes. David and team so easy to deal. Hopefully make it back one day soon

Windermere stay

We had a very enjoyable stay at View from Within at Bowness on Windermere. The check-in process was effortless and we were quickly able to get settled and relax. There were ten of us and each bedroom had their own bathroom. This layout gave everyone their own space, a modicum of privacy, and really facilitated getting everyone moving in the mornings. The hot tub, pool table, and well equipped large kitchen were great shared spaces where we were able to cook and hang out together. We encountered one small hiccup the first day that was handled quickly. The house is a short walk to shopping and dining areas and we took regular advantage of that. I would definitely recommend this place for a large group. It met all our needs and more.

Fantastic Property

This is a great house - we really enjoyed all the facilities and the location being only a 10 minute walk into Bowness. The views from the property are stunning, and the size of the house means that a large group of you don't get too much on top of each other. The fact that every room has an en-suite is also a great positive too. There were a couple of comments from some people about the bed mattresses not being overly comfortable. Also the sliding door for the bedroom nearest the kitchen doesn't afford a great deal of privacy and the toilet seat doesn't seem to fit properly on the toilet. Overall a great stay, and we really enjoyed the house - the pool table, jacuzzi, and the location. Would most definitely stay again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. I think this house is difficult to beat in terms of location, views and facilities.

Excellent location other than the hill you need to climb to get there - ordered taxi into Bowness which is really close but not do able if you are disabled - house is amazing - there were 11 of us - had a cocktail lesson around the kitchen table - ample space - lovely owner left us a large cake too - thank you 🙏

Fabulous House……amazing facilities!

“View from within” this property was fantastic…. We were a group of 6 couples who travelled up to celebrate a 60th birthday! The views from the patio and lounge were stunning. The kitchen was very well equipped , all the bedrooms were beautifully decorated, and bonus all with en-suite. There was plenty to keep us entertained, jacuzzi, pool table and a cinema. The location was good for a 5 minute walk into the busy little town. Also a lovely home made Victoria sponge was there awaiting our arrival! Such a kind gesture. Would definitely like to do a return stay!
