You'll love this top floor, duplex apartment welcoming you with 4 separate bedrooms and 3 bath/showers to ease congestion, along with separate lounge and tv rooms for all the family. All linen, usual amenities are provided.

Situated on Route des Freinets, close to the centre of Châtel & the Linga, Chalets des Freinets is just 7-8 mins walk /400m away. The location makes a peaceful base for winter sports or active summer vacations, while close to shops, restaurants and bars.

You'll appreciate easy access to a bus stop just 100 metres from the residence, giving regular and quick access to Super-Châtel, Pré-la-Joux and Linga as well as the pious-pious ski school (ESF) 3-6 year-olds - in winter and summer, shuttle buses run every 20 mins (see "Pysae" app for details).

On entering the apartment, access via the entrance hall & stairway to a dual aspect living room comprising:

Clean and modern apartment

The apartment was lovely and spacious, with everything you need. I would recommend bringing a car but it is a relatively short walk to the town. We all really enjoyed our stay in the apartment and at Chatel.

As you say, Châtel is indeed ‘spread out’ and with Pré la Joux being the best access to the heart of the Portes de Soleil and without direct accommodation, a car (or bus as an alternate) is indeed necessary. Beautiful Apartment with Incredible Hosts!

The apartment is spacious, well taken care of, conveniently located, with caring and devoted hosts! Chatel is charming and beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. Lots of pleasurable family activities both outdoors and indoors (books, movies, games). Highly recommended!

very peaceful stay!

we were a groupe of 3 friends who just wanted to get away from the city for a few days, we had heard about Julie and Alan’s place from friends so we decided to book, it was absolutely lovely, the flat is super well equipped, we felt like we were on holiday in this lovely chalet type flat. The hosts Julie and Alan were super amazing, they gave us a few recommendations of places to eat and things to do, it was the perfect weekend getaway! Would recommend 10/10! Can’t wait to come back :-)!

This is a real gem at a really affordable price for what you get for your bucks.Ideally located only located a few hundred meters away from the bus stop that will bring you in no time to the Linga or Chatel lifts and slopes.The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable and luxury stay with friends and or family.The shops in the village center are a good and healthy walk away.The double garage is a welcome bonus to keep the EV's safe from cold and snow.Don't hesitate if you have the luck to rent this wonderful place.

Modern and spacious house

The house itself is very convenient and spacious enough for 8 people. All the amenities you need are present. Location is ok for skiing but skibus route is only one way so when returning you need to change buses in the centre where it’s very busy and connection poor. WiFi in Chatel is quite slow so it’s hard to get access to the internet.

Stephan hi, thanks so much for your feedback - we value this in order to improve the experience at our apartment Over the coming 24 months, the owners of Chalet des Freinets plan to install a stairway connecting the apartment with the road directly above - this will avoid the situation with connecting buses. We are also in the process of upgrading the WiFi to ensure it continues to meet ether needs of large groups that are frequently in need of connection.

Great location Châtel

We had a wonderful end of summer vacation in Châtel! The apartment was very well located for access to all facilities, both summer and winter (ski lifts, mountain biking, hiking swimming & tennis) and the bars and restaurants of Châtel village and the apartment contained everything we needed. Although we were a family of only 5 there was plenty of room for 8+ and the upstairs/downstairs split worked well, allowing family time together as well as separate spaces for parents and children to breathe! Thanks for having us - we will definitely be back, this time for some winter skiing for two families.

Modern apartment in the Mountains

Friday Wonderful, spacious and spotless apartment to spend 5 nights in (should have booked longer). All set in an extremely well appointed building complex with underground parking and lifts which made everything easy and accessible. Châtel is a lovely vibrant town with plenty of amenities to cater to all. Will miss my morning coffee on the balcony looking over the mountains. Stunning part of the World to be able to experience, if only for a short time. Enjoy.

The perfect stay ! can’t wait to go back

Our group of 6 (three couples) had a fab end of summer get-together at this apartment in Châtel. We have been a few times before but the apartment and facilities suited us perfectly giving access to lifts for biking & hiking plus the village centre for socializing, eating etc - proximity to Forme d'O for swimming and spa was an added bonus!! The apartment itself is just as described - a super practical but comfortable, welcoming space. We found the split-level apartment also gave us some great separation for tv/movies or otherwise kicking back downstairs. Thanks for all the easy pre- and in-stay information and support. Julie and Alan were the kindest hosts I’ve seen in years. We can't wait to come back for the winter season

Mountain biking with friends

A well presented and equipped apartment I couldn’t have asked for more. Myself and 2 friends were ridding up in the mountains for the week and this place really ticked all the box’s , the garage was really spacious so we were able to park a van and store all our bikes down there and there is lifts taking you up to the apartment which was fantastic since our legs had turned to jelly by the time we got back each day. The apartment had everything we could have possibly needed , comfy beds and bedding provided good night sleep and nice showers to freshen up! The town is delightful , sadly didn’t have much time to explore but it looked like it had everything you could ask for though. Super easy to get to the up lift/s and there is a nice spar , too. Also the hosts were great and easy to get hold of if any issues and kept in contact during our trip to make sure we were all good!

We recently had the pleasure of staying in this amazing apartment in Châtel with our family, and it truly felt like a home away from home. With its generous layout, the apartment comfortably accommodated us, offering ample space for everyone to relax and enjoy. The apartment's modern and comfortable furnishings added to the overall experience, making it a delightful place to unwind after days of exploring the beautiful surroundings. The four separate bedrooms and three bathrooms/showers ensured that we never felt cramped or cluttered. The additional lounge and TV rooms were perfect for family gatherings, providing a cozy atmosphere for movie nights. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area, with seating for eight, made meal preparation and dining a breeze. The location on Route des Freinets is ideal, offering a peaceful base just a short walk from the center of Châtel and Linga. The apartment itself is well-maintained and stocked with all the necessary amenities, including linen, a washer/dryer, dishwasher, ceramic hob, coffee maker, and and smart TV. The terrace with valley views was a particular highlight, offering a beautiful spot to enjoy our morning coffee or evening drinks. Mooi en ruim appartement dat van vele gemakken is voorzien. Fijn dat je auto binnen kan staan in de parkeergarage. Naar het dorp voor boodschappen is goed te lopen. Er zit ook een bakker op loopafstand die al vanaf half 6 's ochtends open is. Prettig contact met de eigenaren. Reageren snel op vragen en goede communicatie vooraf. Dit was onze tweede keer en we zouden zo nog een keer teruggaan!

Why they chose this property

We love the Haute-Savoie and its mountain life, winter and summer. We chose this location as an amazing winter playground (500km pistes in Portes du Soleil) and its breadth of summer amenities such as hiking, downhill mountain biking, the Fantasticable 2km tandem zip wire, acro-branch/('Go Ape'), tennis, crazy golf and ultimately to be close to our home.

What makes this property unique

At 135m2, the apartment is large enough to easily accommodate a number of different groups; be it two families with two children, eight adults or groups of males or females enjoying winter or summer landscape. The flexibility conveyed extends to include an adults lounge as well as a spacious upper lounge with smart tv and games area for kids or adults alike!
