Nestled in the hidden paradise of Graythwaite Home Farm, Bassicks offers you an unforgettable stay in the heart of the Estate. Bassicks welcomes you through a private glazed entrance through to an open-plan hall, kitchen and dining area. Following through the property you will find the living space complete with a log burning stove to cosy up to after a long day in the fells, or during those Winter nights with a hot cup of coco. This open plan layout makes social cooking, dining and entertaining easy and relaxed. A perfect property for group getaways! The Graythwaite Home Farm Courtyard truly is the beating heart of the Estate – accessed via the iconic and enchanting trail bordered with cheery blossom trees, you are truly entering a very special place. Here, you will be less than a mile from the shores of Lake Windermere where you can enjoy the peace and serenity of the lake without the hustle and bustle, or even book in an action-packed activity with the star-studded Graythwaite Adventure. The Courtyard is within easy reach of our fabulous facilities, such as the communal heated swimming pool which can be booked in advance of your stay and the home farm shop offering locally produced products. You are also able to pre-order groceries and treats from the shop to be ready in your property for you when you arrive! You are also welcome to make use of the communal games room, the communal dining and BBQ facilities dotted across the courtyard and children’s play area, found through the historic and rustic stone walls of the Courtyard leading out through the forest and natural surroundings beyond.

A perfect quiet location for a break

It was the perfect location for a special family holiday for all ages and interests. Relaxing by lake Windermere, kids swimming in the pool, free fishing on the estate and beautiful walks and locations to explore locally, with a warm, comfortable and spacious lounge to return to each evening. Just what we needed

Birthday celebrations

Lovely cottage in a pretty location. Had a few problems with the house but these we rectified really quickly. Enjoyed the private booking system of the swimming pool. The Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils ,pots pans etc. The shop had essentials and local produce. The games room was a bit of a let could probably do with a revamp Overall we had a very pleasant stay..

Really excellent cottage for a Lakeland get together

Bassicks Cottage is exactly what we had hoped it would be when we booked it for a family Birthday get together. The staff at Graythwaite are great and we’re really helpful during our booking. The cottage is located in a beautiful part of the Lakes and is surrounded by really unspoilt countryside. It is really well equipped and has a great layout of rooms for groups of 6 - 8 like ours. The lounge is exceptionally spacious and very comfortable and relaxing and it’s great to have a dining table for up to eight too. It really had everything we wanted for our long weekend stay. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely look to stay here again - hopefully for a week!

Bassicks Review

We really enjoyed our stay. It was just right for what we wanted and it was nice and quiet. If all the properties had been full I suspect it would have been different. The only negative thing was the WIFI - it outed twice at 3pm on two days of our stay - not good when when of our party is working. When it worked it was fine it was just not consistent.

A lovely cottage in a great location

Lovely house, lovely estate. Spacious lounge. Kitchen had what you need, but not lots for making a roast or if you’re a lover of cooking big meals etc. No kids stuff (plastic crockery etc) but not sold as such so not surprising! Pool was fab. One night there were a fairly noisy bunch in the cottage above, so the other cottages a bit less risky if you’re a light sleeper!!

In need of updating. Smelt damp

The location of the cottage was great for us. The cottage itself smelt damp, the beds uncomfortable and creaky. Bathrooms good with great shower pressure. Kitchen was nice. Sofa’s needed cleaning. Holes in some of the towels. Missing handles off a number draws and cupboards. Pool needs cleaning and updating around poolside
