SB00102F: Squirrels' Drey is a quiet hideaway in the heart of Innerleithen, in the beautiful Tweed Valley. Perfectly located for the best mountain bike trails, fishing on the river Tweed and country walks. Sleeps 4 adults and 2 children in two King rooms and a bunk room. This duplex apartment boasts: a large living/dining room, kitchen, bathroom, WC, TV den?office space, lawned garden and patio with furniture, porch, private parking for one car, Asgard bike store, security camera and light and garden hose.
Squirrels' Drey is centrally located on Innerleithen High Street. You enter the property's large private garden via a secure side gate and arrive into a peaceful haven. There is a lawned area, spacious patio with circular garden table and benches for al-fresco dining, washing line, garden hose and Asgard bike store. A rear garden gate with keypad entry and fully enclosed perimeter makes the property very secure and safe for children - there is the added benefit of a movement sensor light and security camera on the exterior of the property. The rear gate accesses the private parking area for 1 car (free on road parking for additional vehicles) and driveway which leads out onto the road and playing fields behind.
This deceptively large maisonette is arranged over the first and second floors and is accessed via an external staircase complete with movement sensor light. The porch offers plentiful storage for jackets and shoes, as well as a tumble dryer and pegs for the washing line.
As you enter, the living/dining room is to the right: two 3 seater sofas are arranged either side of a feature fireplace (decorative only) creating a comfy and cosy sitting area - at the opposite end of the room, the sizeable dining table seats six with plentiful tableware for entertaining. This spacious room boasts a TV and CD Player (with CDs!), double glazed windows, heavy blackout curtains and plentiful books and board games to keep the everyone entertained. In addition, there is a TV den/home office space located along the hall which allows the family to spread out if needed.
The kitchen is semi-open plan to the seating area and is fully equipped with gas oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, plentiful crockery, glassware and cookware - and enjoys views over the garden.
Along the hall there is a WC, TV Den/home office and a sizeable bunk bed room for the children, complete with blackout shutters, dressing annexe with desk area and stool, clothes rail and chest of drawers.
Access to the upper floor is via an enclosed staircase, where you will find two spacious king-size rooms at either end of the landing, each complete with comfortable chair, towel rail, wardrobe and chest of drawers. A family bathroom with mountain views is located in between the bedrooms with a power shower (off taps) over the bath, back-up electric shower, basin and mirror.

Amazing Quaint Beautiful Home
We fell in love with everything Lucy Squirrel has done with her childhood home! Absolutely gorgeous. I could stay for weeks. I will go back to Innerleithen just to stay at her glorious home! The back yard is beautiful and so peaceful and the location is perfect for hiking, biking, yummy bakeries, etc.

Active break in Innerleithen
Great property, really helpful host, lovely small town, easy access to larger towns/cities, kids loved the ice cream shop, great mountain biking location with 2 bike parks within 5 miles.

Innerleithen
The property is extremely well equipped and we had everything we needed, thank you. If cyclists, (we are not) it is equipped to support this activity which is extremely popular in this area. Located above a shop on Innerleithen Main Street it accessed by a metal staircase (fire escape). Since we were on a three week trip, we had cases so these stairs and a very narrow staircase indoors were problematic. Furnishings have obviously been well loved and perhaps some of the highly used items (dining mats for example) could be reviewed for replacement. We loved the area and we really enjoyed our time there.

A Perfect Base for a Weekend in the Borders
We stayed in this lovely Innerleithen apartment for a long weekend and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Communication with the owner was excellent – she provided clear directions to find the property and sent us a really helpful 20-page PDF full of local walks and recommendations for things to do in the area.The apartment itself is set above a shop on the High Street and is spread over two floors, giving it a real sense of space. The first floor has a bright, comfortable living area, and the bedrooms are tucked away upstairs, which made it feel like a real home from home. Everything was spotlessly clean, thoughtfully presented, and well-equipped – we had everything we needed for a relaxing break.The location is ideal, right in the heart of Innerleithen with shops, cafés, and local amenities on your doorstep. We made good use of the walking guide and explored some of the local trails – all well worth doing. The area is also a hotspot for mountain biking, so it’s perfect for more adventurous visitors too, though we didn’t try that this time.All in all, a very comfortable and convenient place to stay in a beautiful part of the Borders. We’d definitely return and happily recommend it to others.

Amazing location and incredible comfort
We could not have found a better place to stay to attend our friends wedding at traquair house. We travelled from North America and completely lucked out in finding this gem of a place. The house was so lovely, fulling stocked with everything you would need, including things to cook and do laundry. Beds and pillows were a dream and there was lots of space to not be on top of each other. Super quiet and we were there over a weekend in September. Even within the house we couldn't hear each other at all on the separate floors. The bath tub was deep and amazing, shower was hot and strong and there are restaurants and ice cream out your front gate. The garden is amazing, we ate lunch out there, and the tavern down the street had delicious food, their Sunday roast was to die for!! Lucy was responsive and she has the flat professionally cleaned and linens supplied after your stay, the cleaners showed up just as we were leaving. Don't hesitate, you will love it. The only difficulty could be if you have any mobility challenges, there are stairs up to the unit and within the unit. The X62 bus stop is right outside the unit, which goes to Peebles and Edinburgh. Dream short term rental!
