Great, quirky, and perfect
This place was one of the nicest we've had the pleasure of staying in; clean, comfortable, and simply a fun place to stay. We were personally welcomed by the housekeeper, who presented us with a loaf of freshly made banana bread - a real treat. The cabin was clean, warm and comfortable, and exactly 10 minutes by car from "downtown" Santa Elena. We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to staying here again.
Charming Mountain cabin
Lovely, colorful, and cozy cabin which is about as close to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve as it is possible to be. The kitchen is spacious and equipped, the sitting areas comfortable and appropriately appointed, the beds comfortable, and everything is immaculate. Lovely garden makes the outside as pretty as the inside. Cool nights can be warmed up using the wood stove and the many blankets at hand all over the house. Highly recommended.
We were informed that there wasn’t any heat . So it was chilly..
But there were blankets everywhere.
Can't get much closer to the Monteverde reserve
This is a great little place with attentive, gracious hosts, and I only saw one or two driveways that were closer to the reserve than this one. Karen greeted us on our first day with homemade banana bread and gourmet coffee and was always available to help us with local advice, booking tours, etc. The house comfortably accommodated our family of five. The one drawback is that the property is too close to the road for my liking, but there is a nice screen of trees, and the rental rate certainly accounts for this minor issue. Because the house is so close to the reserve, there's not much traffic anyway. Overall, we had a great experience, and I think this property provides excellent value.
Thank you for your comments, and I am glad you enjoyed your stay and Monteverde.
