Peaceful retreat

Great Satsuma house in the point

Great place to stay! Everything was at the house that you may need. Nice dock to part the boat and also watch passing boats. Deck on the point with lights was perfect to sit as the sun went down with a glass of wine. I’ll will defiantly rent this house again!

Beautiful spot on the river.

The house was all it was listed as and more. The pictures didn't do it justice, the yard was big and the 2 docks were a great place to relax as the sun went down. Maria answered all questions we had quickly. Was a great stay, would recommend it to anyone.

Location location location!

The time spent in this lovely home was ideal. The location on the river was spectacular, and was enjoyed by all of us. Caught lots and lots of crabs and ate well every night. I am looking forward to a return to the river, and relaxing on the dock. Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of paradise!

Beautiful view and location

Inside the house was clean but dated. Porch deck and boat dock needs a lot of repairs and cleaning. We like staying outside at a place like this. There was a beautiful view and sunset on the boat dock. But the dock was in need of repair. The side deck had a wonderful breeze coming down the canal and was very peaceful. But the deck there was in need of repair and cleaning up also. A waterline busted in one of the showers and flooded the hall. Were limited to one shower after that. Needs a new microwave. It was coming apart and made a noise. With some TLC and upgrades, this would be the best lot in the area.

Peace before the storm (literally)

We stayed at this riverfront home just before Hurrican Irma came into Florida. Our plans changed several times and the owner was so flexible and responsive. The home is an older home with modern conveniences. We were only there one day and night, but we had fun fishing and casting for shrimp. The fireplace was cozy at night and the owner provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The view was beautiful and we loved being right down by the water. We did not make use of the some of the other amenities (hammock, kayaks, etc) but they were available. Wifi was available. Kitchen was stocked with a good amount of dishes and pans. House was clean and easily accessible. We took a nice walk around the neighborhood. Unfortunately, we had to leave to prepare for our unwanted guest, Hurrican Irma, or we would have enjoyed the whole weekend there. Just wish we had more time to play... Great rental for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the St Johns River.

nice spot on the river

This is a very quiet property, in a nice neighborhood. The best is the location on the river. You look across at the beautiful ocala national forest. There are lots of herons, anhingas, cormorants and eagles. Also pelicans at the evening. We do not fish, but you can see fish jumping all the time. If you go boating on the river, there are not many houses or structures, and you mostly are looking at nature. The house is large, with excellent showers, but lacks good pots and pans, etc, and also has no smoke detectors. Although it says non smoking, the prior guests smoked and it took a full month for it to mostly go away.

This was the first time I have ever been to this home on the river. It's a great place for friends and family!! Mrs. Maria is a great host and Woody was very helpful. Everything you need to make your stay comfortable is on hand. I hope to visit again soon!! Thanks Maria!

Summer on St John's river with my family

we had a great time at the river house we fished and we went swimming we had blue crab, shrimp, fish it was a great experience had a little boat trouble Mr Woody towed me to the landing would not except anything for his trouble great neighborhood a little reserve but no problem great location can't wait for the next trip thank you for sharing your home with me best regards Yorks

Three generation vacation

The view is fabulous and the people in the area are friendly. Lots for the children to do. So while a TV was available and we brought our tablets, since there was wifi, the kids weren't watching TV or playing video games and the adults limited their time to checking work email. The exception was the one adult working on a research proposal who found the deck facing the canal a peaceful and inspiring place to work. The highlight for the kids (ages 6 and 8) was roasting marshmallows on the deck facing the canal and catch releasing fish they caught off the dock or chasing back into the water the crabs that landed on the deck fighting over the bait. The riverfront park in Palatka was a favorite and they even made some friends there that they played with when we made return trips. Soccer in the back yard and new board games to play in the house made their trip "Amazing" Lots of fun hiking at the state parks. Highly recommend the trail to mud springs. Spent a wonderful day in St. Augustine with more on our to do list then there was time to do! My husband said it was the best place ever and I think he is already trying to figure out how to plan a return trip. LauriBeth Hull

Peaceful

Another great visit to this house. Great place to meet my friends and hang out on the docks, fish, have a fire when the weather is cool, we can cook or there are a couple places to eat out. Good smoked BBQ vendor not to far down the road always has good smoked ribs or tenderloin. All the amenities of home are here. If you want a nice peaceful retreat to get away from your busy life, this is the place to go. Being on the water is always enjoyable. Highly recommended:)

Amazing location! Nice and quite and very functional for the fisherman.

We had a great experience with fishing, never had to leave the dock. Set out crab traps off dock and around the bend with great luck.! House was very functional for the fisherman and kids.

So many stars!

The house really makes you feel at home and the property is absolutely beautiful! Such a great little spot. The fishing dock in the back is the best, we really only came inside to eat and sleep! I havent seen that many stars in the sky in such a long time. We werent lacking a thing we needed in the house, oh and the beds were so comfortable! Such a nice and helpful host too! Thanks so much ❤

Amazing property there so much peace & beauty around.

Great place to stay if you’re looking to disconnect and enjoy some fishing and family time. So so peaceful I loved it I could have stayed on the docks all day just watching the day go by and listening to fish jumping up in the water all the time was super cool.

Great Time :)

We really enjoyed our visit. It is a place to go when you want to relax and take it easy. The views are beautiful, nice home and plenty of outside areas to sit and hang out. This was our 2nd visit and we will definitely book another stay when we get more free time.

Just What I Wanted!

It was the perfect weekend with my husband and best friends for my 62nd birthday. All I wanted to do was to relax and fish and do nothing else. The home and property were wonderful. The house was extremely clean and had everything that was needed. The property was picture perfect on the river. Thank you Maria for sharing your home. We will be back.

BEST Stay Ever! Owner was beyond amazing and so very helpful

If you’re looking for a unique relaxing river home, this is definitely it! The owner went above and beyond making sure our girls birthday weekend just perfect! So kind and responds to any questions very quickly. The home is very inviting. There were 5 of us and we had a blast. Sitting on the screened lanai early morning or late night just staring at that beautiful river made it difficult to leave. We caught and released (this time) many reds and catfish. We even got to see the manatee one evening. We can’t say enough about this peaceful weekend and our more than gracious owner of this home. Will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

Amazing river front property!

Great weekend getaway. My wife, I and another couple enjoyed 3 nights on the river. We brought our boat to head down to Silver Glen Springs and Salt Springs during they day. The boat ramp was just a short drive from the home which was very convenient. Was able to tie up right to the dock. Overall great little getaway and hope to come back this summer to stay at this home again!
