Lovely views, roomy apartment

Great views across York, though slightly spoiled on our stay by the cranes blocking the Minster. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. Generally well maintained and clean, though the carpets in the bedrooms are a bit grubby but cream is probably not the best choice of colour. Fantastic location in short walking distance of the shambles and great to have the allocated parking spaces for 2 cars. All round would recommend and not bad value if you use all the bedrooms.

Lovely penthouse and great location

We were 3 couples meeting up for a weekend away and this apartment/penthouse was exactly what we needed. We all had our own bathrooms, comfy beds and there was plenty of space for a good catch up with a bit of luxury thrown in. The views were good, very handy to have secure parking included and it had everything we needed. The queries we had had in the run up to the stay were responded to quickly. Would definitely book again.

A luxury weekend with perfect views

This was a perfect stay with my family for my big birthday . The apartment is beautifully decorated and to a high standard . We made several meals so there was plenty of pots pans crockery, glasses and gorgeous mugs . The beds were so comfortable - firm but not too hard. It is airy and spacious. We were there during a spring heatwave but there was sufficient windows to create a through draft and good quality floor fans . I noted the comments about the mirrors and took a couple from home along with extra tea towels and dishwasher tablets . We loved the view and the brightness of this Penthouse the comfortable sofas and dining chairs . We enjoyed a very happy weekend in luxury surroundings The door handle on exiting the apartment came off each time the door was opened - so needs a fix . Otherwise perfect!

3 night family stay with 6 adults

Overall it was a really good place to stay. It was very warm when we stayed and the apartment has large glass windows which are great for light and the views but unfortunately one of the 2 windows in the sitting / kitchen room was broken and could not be opened so the room was very hot as there are no blinds or curtains to keep the sun out. The location was excellent for walking into the city Stays York were very helpful with dealing with questions that we had

Perfect....

We had a fantastic stay at Ryedale House in York. The service from the Stays York team was exceptional, clear communication, timely and friendly. The apartment was perfect in every way. I cannot say anything other than excellent, we are looking forward to going back.

Stay during Jorvik festival

The Minster View Penthouse is a lovely apartment in an ideal location in York. It is expensive for a family stay and the leak for the shower/bath in the master en-suite was the only negative for the apartment, considering the quality of the finish in the rest of the apartment. The apartment is very well equipped and has the best views across York and the Minster. In terms of location it cannot be beaten.

Lovely return trip to Ryedale House

This is our 3rd stay in Ryedale House (we’ve stayed in a different apartment each time) and we’ve had a great stay each time. I think the Minster View Penthouse has been our favourite apartment but we would book any of them again. The location is great plus having parking is a bonus. Unfortunately this time we had trouble checking in (we had been sent the wrong details) and it wasn’t handled by Stays York as best as it could be. It wouldn’t stop us going again though.

The StaysYork staff knew that we booked this property for our family to stay in while we were in York for our daughter’s wedding. Unfortunately, we arrived in the middle of the heat wave. There were fans in the 3 bedrooms but none in the living area. Also, the living area has two walls of large windows which, while beautiful for views of the city, absorbed the afternoon heat from the sun. There were no shades on these windows to help block the suns heat, so it was like a sauna in that room (31 degrees Celsius/88 Fahrenheit) and climbing when I arrived). Also one of the two large windows in the living room that could be opened for air circulation was broken and couldn’t be opened. When I asked for relief of the conditions I was told there was nothing more that they could do. I quickly determined that we could not stay there and booked rooms at a hotel that had air conditioning. I asked if StaysYork would consider some compensation toward this added expense, but they refused to consider my request. Therefore, our family had to incur significant expenses to move to other rooms (3 rooms for 4 nights). Although I know that the weather can’t be helped, I was disappointed that StaysYork would not be more proactive in this case, especially as friends at other lodgings were given extra fans and air cooling units to help mitigate their discomfort.

Just Amazing

We were fortunate to have been able to stay in the top floor appartement. There were 4 of us, myself and wife, 12 year old son, and grandpa. The 3 bedrooms were prefect. we all had our own bathroom too. The space in enormous compared to a typical European hotel room. The windows looking out on the town are just amazing. Very clean and modern. Very safe and quite. Perfect location to all the neat places in York. Check in directions were precise and accurate. It was very windy during our stay and opening some windows created quite a wind tunnel and one door wouldn't latch and kept slamming. Otherwise, a great place.

Great Views

Six adults visited this property in June for four days and three nights. It was a mixture of special birthdays and anniversary celebrations. Ample space for us all, and more importantly our own individual bathrooms. The decor was lovely and very tasteful (felt like we were abroad with the multi cultural artifacts). We were all wowed by the views, and loved the location. Our main purpose to visit York was to attend the races for two days. Great location just a short taxi ride away. Whether spoons near by and other lovely pubs and convenient shops. Only one set of keys and fob - called customer services to ask for an extra key. Andrew was brilliant and personally dropped off a key for us (thank you). + Customer service before the visit was also excellent re checking in details etc. We all loved the apartment and we would recommend it to others, and overall we would all visit again. This is the second time we have used Stays York and again we were not disappointed and would definitely use again. Thank you. Tips: *The apartment was extremely hot, open windows immediately and take light lounge wear for the late afternoons / evening. *Take your own toilet roll, we didn't have full rolls in the bathroom when we arrived and no spares. Thankfully there is a shop near by to stock up. *No bin in one of the bathrooms or a bin in the bedroom, take a little bin bag with you. En suite bathrooms / bedrooms were fine.
