This comfortable holiday cottage is nestled in a little lane opposite the remains of Rhuddlan Castle, built between 1277 and 1282 by King Edward 1 and now an historic sight cared for by Cadw (the Welsh Governments Historic Buildings Guardian). Players adorned in medieval costume are often within the Castle Walls adding to the historical ambience. History lovers will also notice that in Rhuddlan High Street, with its shops, hairdressers, pubs and restaurants, there is a carved stone plaque on the wall of the Parliament Building commemorating where King Edward 1 held his parliament in AD 1283. Lovely walks are to be had directly from the cottage, if you can bear to leave it, taking in views of the Vale of Clwyd, St Asaph Cathedral and as far as the Denbigh Moors. There is a nature park and trail which is a must if you enjoy seeing wildlife in its natural habitat, including ducks, pheasants and even otters. Cosy pubs with food, restaurants and little shops are all within a short walk (Sainsburys a 5 minute drive).
