Set in the tranquil Valverde valley, 2km from Praia da Luz and a stones throw away from Lagos town, this restored farmhouse offers apartment holiday accommodation in traditional rustic and natural surroundings.

Intentionally simple, exposed beams, traditional calçada (stone) floors, terracotta against whitewashed walls, natural wood and sloping ceilings; each apartment is delightfully furnished with an eclectic mix of regional styles and artifacts from North Africa.

The apartment opens on to views of the hilltop beyond which are the stunning beaches of Praia da Luz ( "Beach of Light") and Lagos.

The apartment comprises of an open-plan sitting room and separate bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen.
The kitchens are generously equipped, with a refrigerator, microwave, induction hob, oven, coffee machine, toaster and kettle.

In addition, each apartment offers its own private patio and barbecue area for alfresco dining.

There is a small circular swimming pool in the shared gardens, surrounded by a decked terrace with recliners and sun shades and enclosed by flowering shrubs and climbers.

The Cottage apartment has 2 bedrooms suitable for 4 adults and an open plan kitchen on the mezzanine, "gallery", overlooking the main living area.

The bathroom is a cool yellow comprising of a shower, toilet and sink.

The appartment is full of light as one of the walls are several 2.5 by 1.5 metre windows overlooking the colourful courtyard.

Nestled amidst enchanting rustic grounds, this property offers a unique connection to nature. While we embrace the charm of our high ceilings, they sometimes host delicate spider webs beyond our reach. We appreciate these industrious spiders for their role in naturally managing mosquitoes and other small creatures.
All this to say that, you might encounter as spiders, ants, geckos, and other fascinating critters, each contributing to the magical ecosystem surrounding you.

Die Unterkunft hat eine traumhafte Lage – mitten in der Natur, fernab vom Trubel von Luz und Lagos. Ruth ist ein echtes Original, sehr herzlich, und das Leben auf dem Hof mit Pferden und Hunden gibt dem Ganzen einen besonderen Charme. Unsere Kinder haben den kleinen Gemeinschaftspool geliebt, und der Fußweg direkt zum Strand ist ein echtes Highlight. Toll fanden wir auch, dass es viele nützliche Dinge von Vormietern gibt, wie Bodyboards, Taucherbrillen oder Sonnenschirme.Natürlich ist es echtes Landleben: viele Fliegen, die fünf Hunde (total lieb, aber nichts für Menschen mit Angst), Pferde und eine Wasserpumpe, die zu Beginn etwas nervte, weil sie direkt vor unserer Wohnung stand. Auch die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen – manches wackelt oder wirkt schon ziemlich gebraucht. Zudem war es in der Hochsaison nicht überall blitzblank sauber. Trotzdem: Der Garten ist wunderschön, die Atmosphäre besonders, und man fühlt sich fast wie in einem kleinen Paradies. Insgesamt ein sehr spezieller, erholsamer Aufenthalt.

Séjour très agréable, logement atypique au milieux des chevaux. Emplacement calme à proximité immédiate de la plage et proche de Lagos. Super accueil de la part de Ruth, très sympathique et toujours serviable. Comme à la maison....

Achtung Schimmel

Wir haben die Unterkunft am Anreisetag besichtigt, aber aufgrund von erheblichen Mängeln (Schimmel an den Vorhängen, feuchte Wände, unangenehmer Geruch, mangelnde Sauberkeit) entschieden, nicht einzuziehen. Vor Ort haben wir dies mit Ruth (der Mutter der Gastgeberin) besprochen. Sie meinte, wenn wir nicht bleiben wollen, sollen wir wieder gehen, und wir müssten nichts bezahlen. Auf diese Vereinbarung haben wir uns verlassen und haben uns eine neue Unterkunft gesucht.Leider war auf das Wort der Gastgeberin kein Verlass – obwohl sie uns vor Ort zugesichert hat, dass wir nichts bezahlen müssen, hat sie dies später gegenüber Vrbo nicht bestätigt. Vrbo bietet in solchen Fällen keinen ausreichenden Schutz, weshalb wir auf den Kosten sitzen geblieben sind, obwohl wir die Unterkunft nie bezogen haben.

Einzigartige Idylle

Bei Rosie kommt man sich vor wie im Paradies: Überall Blumen, Sitzgelegenheiten ein kleiner türkiser Pool, Pferde und Hinde laufen herum! Außer Vogelgezwitscher hört man nicht viel, es ist absolut still. Wer also ein ruhiges, idyllisches Plätchen sucht, nimmt auch das Stück unbefestigte Straße gerne in Kauf. Das Häuschen ist günstig gelegen, man kann sogar zu Fuß zum Strand bzw direkt eine Wanderung nach Lagos beginnen, aber auch mit dem Auto nach Luz ist es nixht weit. Das Häus ist geschmackvoll und künstlerisch eingerichtet. Die Küche könnte etwas besser ausgestattet sein und alles ist ein wenig rustikal. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und wir würden wiederkommen.
