About the property

Crystal Peak Lodge on peak 7 is one of Breckenridge's nicest and newest ski-in/ski-out residences. Access to the gondola and Independence super chair lift are just outside the door. Hop on the gondola and you are one quick stop from the base of peak 8 or take a short gondola ride in to town to shop or dine.

This professionally decorated 1400 square foot condo has a spacious living area, dining area, breakfast bar, 3 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms allowing guests plenty of room to spread out. The master bedroom is equipped with a steam shower. All three bedrooms have a flat screen HDTV and DVD player.

The gourmet kitchen has high end stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and is fully equipped for the chef in your family to prepare a delicious meal. The beautiful kitchen flows into the surround sound equipped living room and dining room making this the ideal area for family and friends to eat, watch TV, listen to music, and relax after a long day of skiing. There is also a large gas fireplace in the living area.

Crystal Peak Lodge amenities include fitness center overlooking the slopes, heated underground parking, outdoor area with hot tub, private ski lockers, a in-house ski/snowboard rental shop, lift ticket office, game room, sauna and steam room. There is also a large fire pit overlooking the slopes.

During your stay you have access to the amenities at 2 other facilities, One Ski Hill Place (OSHP) and Mountain Thunder Lodge. OSHP is located on Peak 8 about a 3-5 minute walk or a 2 minute gondola ride away. OSHP has an aquatics center with 2 indoor pools, indoor hot tub, outdoor hot tub, fire pit, steam room, sauna, and a rejuvenation center offering massage therapy. There is also, a mine shaft themed bowling alley that can be reserved through the concierge.

There is a free shuttle on call that will take you to both facilities or anywhere else in town you'd like to go.

Although there is free underground parking once you arrive at Crystal PeaksLodge there is no need for a car. With easy access to the gondola and the free shuttle you can easily get anywhere in town you need to go without having to drive.

Crystal Peaks Lodge is a beautiful, world class resort that's a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain with family and friends.

What makes this condo unique

We are a family of 6 intermediate skiers from the Mid-Atlantic area who visited Breck for the first time. We loved the Breckenridge area (the town, the people and the slopes). The location of this condo is at the base of Peak 7. You can walk out of the back door of the Lodge and access a ski lift to take you straight up to a number of blue level runs. Access to the Breckenridge Gondola is also very easy and convenient. The Gondola provides quick access over to Peak 8 and also provides access to the town (restaurants and shopping).

We found the condo as advertised in the description. It was neat and clean and very well maintained. With 4 older children (teenagers and college age) the sleeping was a little tight. We had one on the sleep sofa in the family room/den as the one of the bedrooms had a double bed that would have been a tight squeeze. The kitchen was reasonably stocked with everything we needed for breakfast and relatively simple cooking for dinner for a few nights. All towels/sheets were provided. The condo is equipped with several portable humidifiers to help with the dry air. Wifi, TVs and DVDs all worked great, especially in light of heavy use of Wifi.

By the same token the staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. This Lodge (Crystal Peak) is affiliated with another just down the street where you can access another pool, a bowling alley and movie rooms. In addition, there is a ski rental shop in the Lodge. You can rent your equipment and buy your lift tickets there, however, you will pay a premium for this convenience. If you are cost conscience consider buying your lift tickets on line and renting your equipment from one of the many places in town.

Check-in communication with the owner was limited to a simple statement in an email to pick up our keys from the lock box located in town. However, panic set in at 2 am when we realized we were not provided a code to the lock box. We placed numerous calls and emails to the contact information provided, which were not responded to until almost 11 am the next morning. Thankfully a wild and lucky guess at the lock box code was successful. Make sure you nail this down if your coming in late and understand how to access the parking garage as our card keys did not initially provide access to the front door which is unmanned at 2:30 am.

Overall great experience and would definitely recommend this condo.
