Just 1 mile away, Sandymouth Bay is a peaceful spot for a coastal walk, with dramatic cliffs, golden sands, and rock pools to explore. A short drive takes you to Bude (4.5 miles), where you can stroll along the canal, browse independent shops, and enjoy fresh seafood. Other beaches include Crooklets Beach, Summerleaze Beach, and Widemouth Bay (all within 7.5 miles). For a scenic walk, follow the South West Coast Path towards Hartland Quay (13 miles), where rugged cliffs and crashing waves create a dramatic backdrop. History lovers can explore the legendary Tintagel Castle (22.5 miles), steeped in Arthurian legend, whilst thrill-seekers can visit The Milky Way Adventure Park (13.5 miles) for exciting rides, animal encounters, and live shows. Before stepping into this welcoming cottage, take a moment to appreciate its surrounding scenery and quaint façade of exposed stone and hanging flowerpots.
Head inside, kick off sandy walking shoes in the entrance and be greeted by the social heart of the home, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Here, after long days of coastal adventures, sink into the sumptuous lounge area, flicking on the TV or throwing open the garden doors to let the sea air flow through. When stomachs rumble, find a country-style kitchen perched in the corner, boasting all that’s needed to cook up a feast for all, with stunning sea views whilst you wash up! Gather at the nearby dining table to enjoy the chef’s work or dine alfresco out in the garden when the weather permits. At the end of each busy day, choose from three delightful bedrooms. These include two double bedrooms, both with TVs and one boasting an en-suite shower room, plus a welcoming twin bedroom also with a TV. Completing the interior is a well-appointed family bathroom.
Outside, a scenic and enclosed garden offers the best spot to soak up the coast and country vistas. Here, let little ones run riot on the lawn while you gather on the patio to fire up the BBQ, gather round the picnic table or enjoy a sun-soaked evening tipple. Guests will also benefit from private parking for two cars.
