Beautifully Furnished Oceanfront Beach House...

Walk only 80' from the back door and you're on the beach, or sit on the third floor deck and watch the dolphins and the ocean roll-in. After a day on the beach, relax pool-side. The pool is open from April 1st and closes October 31st for the season. The pool will be heated before Memorial Day and after Labor Day.

The floor plan is a non-traditional design. The Great Room, Kitchen and Master bedroom are on the third floor. Thus taking advantage of both the ocean front and sound views from both sides of the house. It also has an elevator that serves all three floors, making the trip up/down a little easier. This non-smoking home features four bedrooms on the second floor, with a shared bathroom with shower and a jack & jill bathroom with tub. Our newest addition is our Margaritaville blender machine to make your favorite frozen concoction for the young and old.

The great room has generous seating for 10 overlooking the ocean with a fireplace for cooler weather. There is plenty of seating in kitchen and bar area to eat. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and has an additional stand-alone ice maker for those hot days! The house has plenty of games and books for down time. This bright and fresh beach home has hardwood floors and area carpets. There is a private hot and cold shower outside.

If you like an uncrowded beach and all the modern amenities that a house can offer, you will fall in love with this location. A 20-minute walk takes you to the recreation park which has a playground, lighted tennis courts and basketball courts. Putt-Putt Golf is just a few miles down the road and the area's premier 4-star rated golf course is 5 minutes away by car and is one of Golf Digest's 'Best Places to Play' 2008-2009. If you're feeling more adventurous, visit the USS North Carolina Battleship in Wilmington (35 miles south) or the North Carolina Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores (35 miles north). About Suzanne

Phil and I grew up in Delaware and have been here in Raleigh since 1998. We have enjoyed North Carolina so much we decided to stay and make it our home. We then visited some of the beaches in the area and fell in love with North Topsail Island! That's when we decided to build. We are a family of five and wanted a place to create memories and enjoy our future grandchildren some day there.

Why Suzanne chose Topsail Island

We saw this location and loved the peacefulness and the fact that it wasn't too far from things to do, but just far enough to enjoy it's natural surroundings.

What makes this house unique

North Topsail Island reminds me of the beaches I use to visit when I was a child. It is not over run with tall hotels and building and a lot of traffic and chaos. It is somewhat quiet and undisturbed. We love the fact that the momma sea turtles come up to our end of the Island to hatch there eggs! There is also a sea turtle museum and turtle rescue on the Island.

First time to Topsail!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation! The home is is updated and beautifully decorated. The top porch was a fav hangout and very relaxing. We typically go to OBX but did topsail this year and was not disappointed. It is not a going out type of town but the home was well equipped with everything we needed. The beach was amazing and not overly crowded. We will definitely be back in the future.

Fantastic beach vacation at Terrapin Station.

  • 5 of 5

Our family, 4 adults and 5 teenagers, had a wonderful time at Terrapin Station. It was so relaxing sitting on the covered upper deck watching the ocean, dolphins, and stars/moon at night. The beach is uncrowded and we found many shark teeth and seashells. We enjoyed walking the beach, discovering protected turtle nests, wading in tide pools at low tide, and going ghost crab hunting at night. We loved the private pool (very clean) and the built in seating in the pool. It was nice to cool off on days the ocean was too choppy for swimming or relaxing at the end of the day. The hose on the second floor and the shower by the pool were convenient. The living room and kitchen open floor plan had amazing ocean views and was perfect for meals/hanging out. The kitchen was well equipped and provided everything we needed for cooking our meals all week. The second fridge/freezer on the 1st floor was helpful for storing extra drinks. The elevator worked great and made unpacking suitcases and groceries much easier. Suzanne was a pleasure to work with and answered my inquiries quickly. We really enjoyed staying at Terrapin Station and our families had a fantastic time at the beach. Thank you!

House was perfect for our trip!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at this house for my in-laws' annual summer reunion. Needless to say, this was the perfect house for us, and comfortably accommodated 4 adult couples and 4 kids that are under the age of 7. We loved having the pool and beach access just a walk away since it provided the family huge flexibility. We didn't have to worry about packing up the car for a day at the beach and could come and go as we pleased. Also, Suzanne was a pleasure to work with, and was quick to respond to my many inquiries. It was a general consensus that this house was amazing and we all had the best summer beach trip. Thank you, Phil and Suzanne!

Overall the property was very nice. Being on the water was wonderful. We enjoyed the peace and quiet

  • 4 of 5

The accommodations were good. The proximity to the ocean was excellent, said however the steps leading from boardwalk to ocean were washed away making it more difficult to return from the beach. Also the grill was not in good condition. Overall our experience was good and the outdoor pool was a nice feature.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review of our house! We always appreciate honesty and hope we can improve when we can. The grills have a tough time in the beach conditions and we will try to improve that. The steps were not actually washed away we added an extra 3 steps further down from the existing steps to help manage the change in sand. We had bulldozers push up extra sand in the spring to help continue to preserve our dune. But as nature would have it, It dramatically changed the incline to the beach making it harder to walk down. I am sorry that created a challenge for you and your family. Sometimes we can't anticipate natures tide. Sincerely The Owner

Great location for quiet, great house for a group

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 travelers enjoyed Terrapin Station so much. The house is laid out well for get-togethers upstairs, and it also offers nice privacy across multiple levels and bedrooms. The pool is super, but mostly we preferred the fun waves, hunting shells, and sitting in beach chairs under the EZ-Up on the sand instead. This is really a wonderful environment, with no crowds whatsoever.

Lots of coffee was consumed on the upper deck in the mornings, and the surf is the perfect audio backdrop to that. The ocean is truly RIGHT there (and if it's a full moon, as it was for us, the view is spectacular).

North Topsail is quiet-- which encouraged us to stay put (after a short -- and daily-- trip to Food Lion in Snead's Ferry for provisions) and to really embrace the beach and the setting. We cooked on the grill (not so convenient as it has to stay down on the driveway for fire safety) and then made trips into Surf City to satisfy our need for more "action" and a bit of shopping (and gourmet popcorn at MM8).

Plan on sunrise walks and maybe a jog the opposite direction to the pier (beware-- 6 miles round trip). Speaking of the pier, the casual restaurant there is a pretty sweet breakfast spot-- affordable and friendly.

House stuff: The elevator proved finicky (we had to re-set it multiple times) and the ice maker was uncooperative. Certainly our older folks would have liked to avoid the many stairs, but it wasn't the end of the world. Everything else was functional and comfortable. It's nice to have a W/D (so you can pack lightly) and a kitchen big enough to spread out and make meals in.

Owner's Response: Wow! What a great and thorough review! We thank you so much! My only regret is that you did not contact my handyman who was posted on the refrigerator he would have been able to help you with our elevator! That elevator is is pretty reliable! Someone before you may have gotten it off track! Sorry about that. The ice maker is tempramental this may be its last year! Have a great rest of 2017!

Perfect for a Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family, 8 adults and 3 children, would absolutely recommend this home for your vacation. We were very comfortable for our week stay. The house had everything we needed, sans food! The pool was perfect, clean, and warm, perfect for the little ones who aren't quite ready for the ocean! The views from the top deck couldn’t be beat, we’d sit out on the top deck and get a beautiful view of the sunrise and boats on the horizon. The rooms and common areas were all clean and in great shape, subtle signs of wear on the furniture and permanent fixtures, but that’s to be expected! The elevator was a lifesaver! Really helped get the luggage and groceries to the upper floors! The area was quiet, not too much commotion, perfect for a relaxing stay! We recommend going to Lo-re-lei’s Pub and Grill for lunch – amazing food, laid-back atmosphere, and attentive staff and don’t forget to stop by Bada-Bing for ice cream!
