What an incredible place to stay - amazing location - my only caution is parking. The island is a no parking zone for non residents. You can get a permit to enter the ZTL from the very helpful host - drop off the luggage - then park - we found a spot at the Marina. Great walking & dining spots very close by !

The apartment is cool in both senses- a welcome respite from the heat and a very tasteful decor, as well as a comfortable bed! It is clean and spacious with very interesting books and an antique map.It was lovely to be so close to everything in Ortigia and it is a beautiful location. We enjoyed our short time in this lovely island old town.We knew from other reviews that there would be street noise - at least one of us got some sleep (!) but there does seem to be a lot of noise in Via Roma on a Thursday night maybe (? Street cleaning, bin lorries, motorbikes and beeping reversing vehicles all through the night), which did not lessen with three sets of shutters shut carefully. We had a long train journey the next day so knew we could catch up sleep, but I cannot honestly say I would book a longer stay as we like our sleep too much!
