This house in Ballabio is designed for those looking for a convenient, cool, and well-equipped base to explore Valsassina, Lake Como, or the city of Lecco. It’s ideal for hikers who want to start their adventures directly from the doorstep, as well as for professionals on business trips or smart workers seeking a peaceful base surrounded by greenery, yet close to the town center. The garden, furnished porch, and barbecue make every return home a pleasure. The apartment can comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests.
🏞 Things to Do in and Around Ballabio
Ballabio is a small strategic village nestled between Mount Due Mani, which rises right in front of the house, and the majestic Grigna behind it. A variety of hiking trails of all levels start just minutes from the house, perfect for day hikes or trail running. You can easily reach Lecco and the lake, the Piani Resinelli with Parco Valentino and its scenic walkway to the Belvedere, cycle along the Valsassina bike path, or head up to the Piani di Bobbio, Giumello, or Culmine di San Pietro. In less than half an hour, you can get to Bellano on the eastern shore of Lake Como for a lakeside stroll or a summer swim.

The apartment is located in a small residential complex at 34 Via Turati, right in the center of Ballabio, in front of a large free public parking lot. Access is via a short, pleasant pedestrian path that leads to the gate of the private, well-kept garden, which includes a furnished porch with table, chairs, and a barbecue.
Inside, the apartment is a spacious and functional three-room flat.
The living area features a large lounge with a relaxation corner, sofa bed, TV, and a dining table extendable to seat up to 6 people. The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, gas stove, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots, and utensils. A gas boiler provides hot water and independent heating.
The sleeping area includes a double bedroom with a wardrobe, dresser, and access to a second outdoor area that is cool and covered. The recently renovated bathroom is equipped with a shower, sink, toilet, bidet, washing machine, and dryer.
The apartment has two external openings—one onto the front garden and one at the back—allowing you to choose between sun and shade at any time. Access is mostly step-free, with only one small step at the entrance path, making it suitable for guests with reduced mobility. If requested we can add a little ramp to smoothen the gap (see pictures). The home is equipped with internet connection.
