Excellent stay by Lago di Como!

We spent a week in June-July in Sala Comacina. Valerie and Daniele were caretaking, lovely and excellent hosts. We absolutely can recommend their apartment to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful Lago di Como and surroundings on the west coast of the Lake. We really would love to come back again!

Comme à la maison

Agréable logement, avec une vue imprenable sur le lac de Come. Calme, propre, et facile à trouver. Bien situé, à proximité de Menaggio et de Milan, et à 5 minutes à pied (par un escalier de 142 petites marches) d'un parc ensablé avec jouets (pelles, seaux...), et accès à un bassin aménagé dans un renfoncement du lac, où les enfants de 5 ans ont pied. Quel plaisir de les voir poursuivre les petits poissons, ou de sauter dans les vagues du lac. Pour ceux qui y accordent de l'importance, il faut noter que les volets ne sont pas 100% obscurcissant, que l'accès au parking est très pentu et en marche arrière descendante, et qu'il n'y a pas de climatisation (mais des ventilateurs et un store électrique de couverture de la terrasse).

Beautiful apartment at a gorgeous location

Very clean apartment on the second floor of a house. The host family lives on the first floor and is a very nice couple. The view is spectacular and all major tourist destinations are a short bus and boat ride away. It was an unusually hot week when we were there and the lack of AC or fans made it difficult at night. Overall a perfect family retreat.

Lovely, quiet spot

If you’re looking for a peaceful spot away from the crowds, this is it. The apartment is immaculate and the views are spectacular. Our two teens enjoyed their room with the twin beds and my husband and I loved our bedroom with a view! The bed is very firm—too firm for my liking — but my husband was ok with it. The town itself has a small bakery just down the hill from the apartment plus a nice butcher and cheese shop. But you’ll need a car to get other supplies. We walked once to the nearest town with a grocery store (Lenno) and it was 45 minutes up and down steep cobblestone streets. In the car it’s just a few minutes. You can take a ferry around the lake but the ferries can be very crowded—standing room only—depending on the time, so plan accordingly. We visited Varenna by ferry and it was gorgeous; the city is wonderful to explore on foot. Just wear good walking shoes! Another highlight was Villa Carlotta in the nearby town of Tremezzo. Well worth seeing both for the gorgeous art and architecture as well as the gardens! After touring the villa we walked along the lake front to a wonderful grassy lido and went swimming. Highly recommend!

Great Location

The location was amazing. Great views, easy access to walking trails and the village center. 5 minute walk to a small bakery and a small market as well as several excellent restaurants. 20 minute walk to a larger village with even more options. Bus and ferry service close by and very affordable. The hosts were very helpful. The property was quiet and peaceful. All in all - a perfect week for us.

Charming country stay

The property was lovely. Very clean and the view was spectacular. It was very well stocked with the essentials. Valerie and Daniele were very nice and helpful. One piece of information- we didnt want to drive in Italy so we didn't rent a car. I think having a car would be very helpful as the property is remote and the ferries don’t stop frequently, and then you spend time on the ferries instead of where you want to be. Having said that we would love to go back.

Excellente Ferienwohnung mit Top-Aussicht

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in Sala Comacina. Valeria und Daniele waren sehr hilfsbereit und haben uns sehr gut betreut. Daniele hat mir jeden Abend bei der Parkplatzsuche geholfen und alles dafür getan, dass ich einen Parkplatz bekomme. Die Ferienwohnung ist das Beste, was man bekommen kann. Alles sauber, alles perfekt. Einfach super! Sehr gute Gastgeber, sehr freundlich und respektvoll. Wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen, das es wirklich wunderschön hier war. The best hosts ever!

It was a great stay! The hosts were lovely and helped us out with everything we needed (even reserved a restaurant for us!). The views are breathtaking and the balcony is perfect. Keep in mind it is very hot here in the summer (but they provided a few fans which was nice). Another thing to keep it mind is their parking is not meant for larger cars, but the hosts helped us park close by as it was a bit difficult. Overall, incredible stay - very recommended!!

Traumhafte Aussicht

Der Blick vom Balkon auf den Comer See und die Berge ist absolut traumhaft. Man kann stundenlang sitzen und nur schauen. Die Lage ist auch ideal, um die geheimnisvolle Isola Comacina zu erkunden. Man kann aber auch bequem mit dem Schiff Bellagio und die Villa Carlotta erreichen. Nach Lenno und zur Villa del Balbianello kann man sogar zu Fuß gehen. Como kann man mit dem Bus erreichen, wenn man die enge Küstenstraße scheut. Die Ferienwohnung ist wie beschrieben, sehr gepflegt und angenehm, und Valeria und Daniele sind äußerst sympathische und perfekte Gastgeber. Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt.

Nice apartment with breathtaking views over the lake

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment in Sala Comacina. The apartment was convenient and everything perfectly clean. The location was good and very close to the Green Way. The view from the balcony was amazing and we loved enjoying our meals sitting there. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was very thoughtful and generous of Valeria to bring us a lovely tiramisu on my daughter‘s birthday. Thank you so much for that, Valeria! One point that might be useful to know is that it is perhaps advisable to rent a small car as parking spaces are rather tight (the car we rented was a bit long).

Fantastic view of the lake.

Valeria was very sweet Her home is just as described. The weather was fantastic ! We enjoyed renting a boat and paddle boarding. Our last evening we took the ferry to Bellagio and had a wine tasting. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The cleanest rental property I have every stayed in...everything was perfect!

The owners are very friendly and efficient and responded to messages promptly. Everything worked very well, was super clean, the view is amazing ,and the area has lots to do on day trips. We travelled with our Yorkie and she gives it a big "paws up".

The view of Lake Como is stunning!

Valeria and Daniele were very friendly, kind and accommodating. Although checkin in is 3:00 I asked if we could leave our luggage prior to check in and they quickly agreed! So nice to not have our luggage stacked in our car while we got ourselves acquainted with the area. They had maps, restaurant suggestions, directions to the store, gasoline and areas of interest. We would recommend this lovely apartment and would stay there again.

Haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt 😀

Hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. Die Gastgeber sind hilfsbereit und herzlich. Die Wohnung ist so wie beschrieben und gut ausgestattet. Einen Punkt ziehen wir nur für die sehr einfachen Balkonmöbel und das durchgesessene Sofa ab. Die Aussicht ist grandios.
