Excellent stay by Lago di Como!

We spent a week in June-July in Sala Comacina. Valerie and Daniele were caretaking, lovely and excellent hosts. We absolutely can recommend their apartment to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful Lago di Como and surroundings on the west coast of the Lake. We really would love to come back again!

Wonderful host and amazing view

We loved our stay! The patio was great with lovely views and all the rooms were so nice. Valeria was wonderful to help us figure out the ferry schedule and a fantastic host!

Great view, location as advertised!

We loved our 3 day stay at this condo! Valeria was very helpful and attentive to a couple of needs that we had. We wished we could have stayed awhile longer.

The cleanest rental property I have every stayed in...everything was perfect!

The owners are very friendly and efficient and responded to messages promptly. Everything worked very well, was super clean, the view is amazing ,and the area has lots to do on day trips. We travelled with our Yorkie and she gives it a big "paws up".

Breathtaking views

We got lucky with this gem! Perfect location. Welcoming host, so friendly and answer all of your questions promptly. My toddler loved looking at their chickens. Very happy with our stay.

Fantastic view of the lake.

Valeria was very sweet Her home is just as described. The weather was fantastic ! We enjoyed renting a boat and paddle boarding. Our last evening we took the ferry to Bellagio and had a wine tasting. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful apartment at a gorgeous location

Very clean apartment on the second floor of a house. The host family lives on the first floor and is a very nice couple. The view is spectacular and all major tourist destinations are a short bus and boat ride away. It was an unusually hot week when we were there and the lack of AC or fans made it difficult at night. Overall a perfect family retreat.

Great Location

The location was amazing. Great views, easy access to walking trails and the village center. 5 minute walk to a small bakery and a small market as well as several excellent restaurants. 20 minute walk to a larger village with even more options. Bus and ferry service close by and very affordable. The hosts were very helpful. The property was quiet and peaceful. All in all - a perfect week for us.

The best hosts ever!

It was a great stay! The hosts were lovely and helped us out with everything we needed (even reserved a restaurant for us!). The views are breathtaking and the balcony is perfect. Keep in mind it is very hot here in the summer (but they provided a few fans which was nice). Another thing to keep it mind is their parking is not meant for larger cars, but the hosts helped us park close by as it was a bit difficult. Overall, incredible stay - very recommended!!

Wonderful and Peaceful

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay and would definitely recommend if you are searching for a beautiful and peaceful place to stay in this region. The apartment is immaculate and our hosts were wonderful. Having the Greenway trail right behind the apartment was an extra bonus! We truly did not want to leave. If we travel back to the area we would definitely rent again!

The view of Lake Como is stunning!

Valeria and Daniele were very friendly, kind and accommodating. Although checkin in is 3:00 I asked if we could leave our luggage prior to check in and they quickly agreed! So nice to not have our luggage stacked in our car while we got ourselves acquainted with the area. They had maps, restaurant suggestions, directions to the store, gasoline and areas of interest. We would recommend this lovely apartment and would stay there again.

Charming country stay

The property was lovely. Very clean and the view was spectacular. It was very well stocked with the essentials. Valerie and Daniele were very nice and helpful. One piece of information- we didnt want to drive in Italy so we didn't rent a car. I think having a car would be very helpful as the property is remote and the ferries don’t stop frequently, and then you spend time on the ferries instead of where you want to be. Having said that we would love to go back.

Nice apartment with breathtaking views over the lake

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment in Sala Comacina. The apartment was convenient and everything perfectly clean. The location was good and very close to the Green Way. The view from the balcony was amazing and we loved enjoying our meals sitting there. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was very thoughtful and generous of Valeria to bring us a lovely tiramisu on my daughter‘s birthday. Thank you so much for that, Valeria! One point that might be useful to know is that it is perhaps advisable to rent a small car as parking spaces are rather tight (the car we rented was a bit long).

Small town with access to everything.

From the first emails with Daniele I knew this would be a warm and welcoming place to stay. Situated on the hill above Sala Comacina but easy walk down steps to town or walk the Greenway trail just behind their lovely house for constant views of the lake. We loved our stay here. The apartment was super comfortable for our family for 4. Views from the balcony are breathtaking and we dined out on patio all meals we had at home. The chorus of different bells in the AM was a highlight. We even found a city park so our kids could keep up with their soccer and basketball practice...of course also with a view! Many thanks to Daniele and Valeria for their hospitality (meal was so special) and we would love to return again.

Authentic Home Stay With The Best View

We spent two weeks in this authentic apartment and we loved our time there and would happily stay there again. Valeria and Daniele are welcoming and generous hosts; always with a smile on their faces. The apartment is well equipped and the balcony runs the full length and faces the Lake and provides the most amazing views - day and night. Sala Comacina is small which suited us. No crowds. No tourist buses. But the walk from shore to the apartment could be a bit challenging. Sometimes we drove down. We ate at restaurants, we cooked ourselves and sometimes we arranged for Valeria to cook us a beautiful meal using home grown ingredients. Yum Yum. Thanks for a fabulous stay.

Lovely, quiet spot

If you’re looking for a peaceful spot away from the crowds, this is it. The apartment is immaculate and the views are spectacular. Our two teens enjoyed their room with the twin beds and my husband and I loved our bedroom with a view! The bed is very firm—too firm for my liking — but my husband was ok with it. The town itself has a small bakery just down the hill from the apartment plus a nice butcher and cheese shop. But you’ll need a car to get other supplies. We walked once to the nearest town with a grocery store (Lenno) and it was 45 minutes up and down steep cobblestone streets. In the car it’s just a few minutes. You can take a ferry around the lake but the ferries can be very crowded—standing room only—depending on the time, so plan accordingly. We visited Varenna by ferry and it was gorgeous; the city is wonderful to explore on foot. Just wear good walking shoes! Another highlight was Villa Carlotta in the nearby town of Tremezzo. Well worth seeing both for the gorgeous art and architecture as well as the gardens! After touring the villa we walked along the lake front to a wonderful grassy lido and went swimming. Highly recommend!

Amazing stay in small village of Lake Como

This was a wonderful experience and stay. Our highlight of Lake Como. First, the hosts are lovely people, very welcoming, helpful, friendly and hospitable. Daniela is always trimming an olive tree, working in garden, or in the yard overlooking town and lake. The 2 BR with old world charm, has everything necessary and was perfect home away from home. It sits up on a ridge and cobbled stairs take you down to the main road, waterfront for wine bar, several restaurants and Sandy beach where my husband took dip. The host, so friendly, gave a tour of his gardens and chickens and Valeria shared not only eggs but homemade delicious tiramisu! You feel like you are staying next to family. The view’s from the apartment are spectacular! We enjoyed our coffee and wine on the terrace and we could’ve just stayed with the view and we always looked forward to our return every day. The Greenway of the Lake is only steps from the address - an amazing experience to walk through the villages on it, and the walk to Tremizano and Lenno a highlight, arriving at the famous villa Balbianello-gorgeous location and gardens… taking the small boat from it’s port to Lenno on way back to enjoy late lunch on the water, great pizzas and salads on terrace and lovely walk back on Greenway. The best restaurant is right in Sala Comacina on lake, recommended by hosts, Locanda La Tirlindana. We enjoyed twice, sooo good. Day trips to Bellagio and Verano only made us appreciate the special village and home of Daniela and Valeria, away from crowds and so relaxing. If you are looking for an authentic beautiful experience and people on Lake Como, look no further! We hope to return one day to the Vaccani’s special guest home!
