There is a bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, and basin and WC, and a shower room with walk-in shower, basin, and heated towel rail and WC. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels are included in the rent. Outside, there is an enclosed rear lawn and side patio with furniture and bench and off-road parking for two cars. Guests also have access to a spacious field of over an acre. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Whatever the weather, a wonderful stay awaits at The Milking Shippon at Thorne. Note: There are four steps from the parking area to the path leading to the front door, though guests can also walk around and cross the grass to avoid the steps. The town has a good selection of individual shops, a friendly atmosphere, and some good inns. About a mile from Great Torrington is the spectacular RHS garden at Rosemoor, splendid with colourful roses in summer and in a breathtaking setting by the River Torridge. There are many villages to visit on the North Devon coast including picturesque Clovelly built on a steep hillside above the sea, Westward Ho! with fabulous sandy beaches and Hartland village with narrow streets, village square and Hartland Point with breathtaking sea and coastal views. Great Torrington is a quiet, convenient base from which to explore North Devon, the Tarka Trail and the rolling Devon landscapes.
