Spacious log home close to Raystown Lake - sleeps 12 - host up to 18 dinner guests
Are you ready for a great weekend getaway or family vacation? Built in 2017, Bear Bottom is a 2,700 sq ft log home nestled at the base of a mountain near James Creek, PA, and centered between Seven Points Marina and Raystown Lake Resort (10 min drive to each). The home sits on a private, 25 acre wooded property overlooking a pond. There is a lake view from the corner of the property, adjacent to the Pennsylvania State Game Lands. Enjoy sitting around the fire pit telling stories, roasting hot dogs, or making S'mores. Some guests may enjoy a round of paint ball with the varying topography or trying their luck fishing for bass in the pond. Other guests may enjoy relaxing in one of the rocking chairs on the wrap around porch/deck. You may just catch a glimpse of turkey, deer, bear, birds and more!
Inside, you'll find three floors. The main floor is open concept with cathedral ceilings in the living area, maple hardwood floors, gas fireplace, half bath, laundry room, dining room, and spacious kitchen with breakfast nook. You will also find the carpeted master bedroom and a private bath with Jacuzzi tub and spa-inspired, stone floor shower. The second floor has a loft with beautiful views outside the large windows (great for quiet reading). There are three additional bedrooms on the second floor - two Queen beds and one Bunk Bed (Queen & Full), along with a full bath/shower. One of the bedrooms includes a private balcony area! In the basement (unfinished), you will find a ping-pong table, Foosball and corn hole boards.
If you enjoy outdoor adventures, Bear Bottom is minutes from Raystown Lake. Raystown Lake's Seven Points Marina area offers beach swimming, picnicking, boating, mountain biking, and much more! Take a morning hike on the Allegrippis Trails or in Trough Creek State Park. You can even kayak on the Juniata River. In nearby Huntingdon, you will find Lincoln Caverns, several great restaurants, and home to Juniata College. Those who venture a bit further can find attractions like Delgrosso's Amusement Ride/Water Park, Altoona Curve Baseball, Penn State Football, and several shopping centers.
During the winter months, we recommend 4WD/AWD vehicles due to rural mountain roads.
