Are you ready for a great weekend getaway or family vacation? Built in 2017, Bear Bottom is a 2,700 sq ft log home nestled at the base of a mountain near James Creek, PA, and centered between 7 Points Marina and Raystown Lake Resort (10 min drive to each). The home sits on a private, 25 acre wooded property overlooking a pond. Enjoy sitting around the fire pit telling stories, roasting hot dogs, or making S'mores. Some guests may enjoy a round of paint ball with the varying topography or trying their luck fishing for bass in the pond. Other guests may enjoy relaxing in one of the rocking chairs on the wrap around porch/deck. If you're lucky, you may catch a glimpse of turkey, deer, bear, birds and more!
Inside, you'll find three floors. The main floor is open concept with cathedral ceilings in the main living area, maple hardwood floors, gas fireplace, half bath, laundry room, dining room, spacious kitchen & breakfast nook. You will also find the carpeted master bedroom and a private bath with Jacuzzi tub and spa-inspired, stone floor shower. The second floor has a loft with beautiful views outside the large windows (great for quiet reading). There are three additional bedrooms on the second floor - two Queen beds and one Bunk Bed (Queen & Full), along with a full bath/shower. One of the bedrooms includes a private balcony area! In the basement (unfinished), you will find a ping-pong table and dart board.
If you enjoy outdoor adventures, Bear Bottom is minutes from Raystown Lake. Raystown Lake's Seven Points Marina area offers beach swimming, picnicking, boating, mountain biking, and much more! Take a morning hike on the Allegrippis Trails or in Trough Creek State Park. You can even kayak on the Juniata River. In nearby Huntingdon, you will find several great restaurants and home to Juniata College. Those who venture a bit further can find attractions like Delgrosso's Amusement Park, Altoona Curve Baseball, Penn State Football, and several shopping centers.
During the winter months, we recommend 4WD/AWD vehicles due to rural mountain roads.

Beautiful cabin and scenery! Well worth it. Thanks for exceeding all expectations.
Absolutely beautiful property. Incredible attention to detail
Perfect place to get away from the world for a few days. Incredible house with lots of space. The attention to the little details and the interior decorating are so charming! The kitchen was well-equipped to make meals of every kind. The outdoors are picturesque and serene.
My family and I enjoyed every moment at this cabin. It is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Kitchen was equipped well with everything we needed for preparing meals. Owners were very responsive and accommodating. We plan to return for another stay.
Great weekend away with a group of friends
A group of us got together for a weekend away. The cabin was excellent, it was away from everything but beautiful and set up great. It was clean and very renter friendly. The owner was also extremely easy to work with. We definetely want to come back again.
Beautiful Cabin! Awesome hosts!
My friends and I stayed for a reunion weekend. The cabin was amazing! As far as we could tell the cabin is pretty much brand new, as we could still smell the sawdust. Every room was in immaculate condition. There are brand new, top of the line appliances in the kitchen. The kitchen also included everything else we needed to cook all of our meals while staying the weekend. All of the furniture and entertainment (tvs, dvd, surround sound with bluetooth, direct tv in all of the rooms) were amazing to watch playoff football. I couldn't imagine finding a better deal on VRBO.
The cabin is a just a little off the beaten path (which is actually kind of nice). The only issue we had was since the cabin was off of a dirt road and we stayed in the winter, the road completely iced over after a storm. Luckily, Lisa is an amazing host and had the road plowed and cindered for us to get out within an hour of us contacting her. Thank you, Lisa!
I would highly recommend staying at this cabin to anyone. Make sure you read the fine print as they do not provide linens or towel. This is a very minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. The cabin is really just that spectacular.
